DIMENSIONS •

 Here We have Dimensions concept which which are using for storing  the data.  Dimension: It It is a top level level attribute in a hierarchy. Eg: India-> Sindia-> Hyd  In the above hierarchy India is the Dimension.  Dimensions are the parameters to store amounts of a   firm ,The ,The Data of a firm stored across the dimensions  Indiviually.  We have ‘12 Dimensions’ Dimensions’ in HFM to store the 

data of an Enterprise.

‘PV EV AICP C1-C4 SY ’ this is the pattern to remember easily  those 12 dimensions are P->Period [Months] V->Value[actual amount] E->Entity[Organisation structure] V->View[YTD/MTD/QTD] AAccount ICP->Intercompany Partner  C1-C4->Custom 1-Custom4[Optional] S->Scenario[What Kind of Data] Y->Year

 SERVICES OF hfm When you open HFM Window First start the services for HFM i.e.. 1.OPENLDAP 2.Shared services 3.DME LISTNER  4.Workspace Agent services 5.WORKSPACE WEBAPLLICATION

CLIENTS IN HFM •

We have two clients in HFM to work in that i.e.. a.Windows Client b.Browser Client

Navigation to Windows Client :Start->Allprog ->Oracle EPM->Financial Managenet->F.M. Navigation to Browser Client: Start->Allprog ->Oracle EPM->Workspace>WorkspaceClient.

Definine Application Profile  •

Start  Allprog  Oracle EPM System Financial   Mangement  Financial Management.

After getting Windows Client go to Define Apllication Profile for Defining. Here you are Defining 3 Dimensions i.e… Period ,Year ,View,and save with .per Extension.

Create Application •

Start Allprog Oracle EPM System Workspace Workspace Client Here you have to provide user and password information.

You can see the Workspace Client on the desktop. Go to Navigation button and select Administer Classic Consolidation AdministerCreate/Register/Delete App

Register Application •

Go to Workspace Client and follow previous   Navigation for register the application.

U can see in the register application  Application label

Click on the Register icon for register.

Create User  •

Go to StartAllprog OracleEPM Foundation Services Shared services console

U provide user and password for opened application then u can see in the leftpane -User directories -Native directories Users Groups Select Users and use rightclick and select New to create New User and follow instructions and create the user.

PROVISION AND ACCESS •

 After creating the user U can see existed users in your shared  services, select the user and use rightclick to click   provision[assigning roles] Under the User directories U can see Application Groups select that and choose on which Usermanagement group u  created the application,select that and use right click to click  assign access control.Hereu can download the access file with  .sec Extension 

 METADATA •

•

 Metadata is nothing but creating the dimensions[12 dimensions]. We already create 3 dimensions like Period, Year, View in  Define application Profile.

Value and ICP dimensions are the system dimensions, system will automatically update their data.  Now we have to create  Entity,Account,AppSetings,ConsolMethod,Custom1Custom4,Currencies,Scenario dimensions.

 NAVIGATION FOR METADATA •

•

Go to Start Allprog Oracle Epm system Financial Management F.M. U can see Windows Client and Select Manage Metadata. Now select the dimension need to create for that application and save each dimension when create and save the file with.app or .xml.

LOADING SECURITY  •

•

•

Select LOADING SECURITY option in Windows Client to load the security and follow the Navigation and save the file. Security is for Metadata created by you in that file. For Creating Metadata no need to start the services because we have only in Windows Client.

LOADING METADATA •

For Loading Metadata Select ‘Load Metadata’ in the Windows Client and Browse the file what you have created the metadata file and click SCAN to detect the errors and if you got any errors the error data will open in Notepad and you can resolve easily, Once  you resolve the errors the confirmation message like ‘Scan the appl successfully’ will come.

Click on LOAD to load the Metadata File.

LOADING MEMBERLISTS •

•

Memberlists means the members created under predefined and user defined Dimensions. We have two types of Memberlists 1.System Defined Memberlist 2.Userdefined Memberlist

To create Memberlist we have to go for Windows Client and select ‘Load Memberlist’.

LOADING DATA •

To Load the Metadata we go for Load data. It is available in Windows Client or Workspace Client. By clicking the Load Data U can see Select Browse option to load the file.

Select the Load option to load the file.

•

The extension of loading data is .dat.

LOADING RULES •

•

•

RULES are using for calculating the data. To calculate the data we write the formulas in VB-Script Editor. After Calculating the data we go for Loading those rules into our file by using Load Rules option in Windows or Workspace Clients.

LOADING FORMS •

•

We have Data grids and Data Forms to View, Edit and Analyse the data which are already Loaded. Diff b/w Data forms[D.F] and Data grids[D.G] POV is restricted in D.F, NOT IN D.G Import & Export available in D.F not in D.G. U can modify the data only for Predefine members in D.F not in D.G.

EXTRACTING TASKS •

Extracting means retrieving the data from primary sources like where we load the data previously for further processing. What we done like loading all the tasks ,We have to extract all those things for further process. Navigation is same like Loading ,We can go for Windows Client OR Workspace Client to extract the security, Memberlist, Rules,Meta Data andData.

For creating these Navigation is go to Workspace Client and select Administration and go for Manage Documents to create above things.

To get this go to Worksace Client and select Tasks  Datatasks to see Process Management Control. Select this and do the following things like 1.Start. 2.Promote. 3.Submit. 4.Approve. 5.Publish. 6.Signoff. 7.Reject.

HFM END TASKS •

Once data has been entered, the next steps usually are reconciling intercompany balances and signing off on the numbers. HFM provides tools for both of these steps. For signoff, HFM validates the data and ensures calculations have been performed before allowing promotion. Higher level users can reject the data as needed. All signoffs are stored and can be reviewed if needed.
