This Briefing Document is designed to assist you by providing relevant and valuable information about working with Emirates. Whilst we endeavour to keep this document up-todate, terms and conditions do change from time to time. This document is not an offer of employment nor is it intended to form part of a contract of employment.

1.0 CONTRACT Unless otherwise stated, your contract of employment is permanent and open [i.e. no fixed duration]. After receiving a contract of employment and prior to joining Emirates, you will be Emirates Pilot Briefing Document - Version 25. 05/10

required to submit a letter of ‘Confirmation of Resignation’ from your current employer, confirming that your employment with that Company has been terminated in accordance with relevant rules and regulations. Emirates does not employ pilots who are on furlough or leave of absence from their current employer. 1.1 PROBATION There will be a probationary period of six months commencing from your date of joining. 2.0 TERMINATION OF EMPLOYMENT During the first six months of service (the probationary period) either you or the Company may terminate employment by giving not less than one week’s notice to the other party. After the probationary period of service, the notice period is extended to three months. In the case of termination by the Company, and at the Company's discretion, payment for the notice period may be made in lieu. 3.0 RETIREMENT The retirement age is 65 years. 4.0 TRAINING BOND It is a condition of employment that all Flight Crew attend and successfully complete such training courses as may be required by the Company. Courses are generally conducted in Dubai, however, should there be a requirement to use third party facilities, accommodation and living expenses whilst off-station will be provided. All Flight Crew will be bonded for a period of three years. The bond for First Officers is US$36,000. The bond for Direct Entry Captains will be dependent on course eligibility and will either be US $12,000 or US$36,000. The Bond agreement applies from the date of joining the Company. Employees are required to undertake in writing, not to terminate employment for a period of not less than three years from the date of the first Pilot Proficiency Check. Should the employee terminate his services, other than for medical reasons, then he/ she shall be liable to pay to the Company the assessed pro-rata bond amount. 5.0 BASIC SALARY Salaries, which are tax free, are paid monthly in arrears, in UAE Dirhams (US$1 = AED3.67) by credit transfer to the employee's bank account in the UAE. We do not transfer the salary into an overseas bank account. 6.0 LICENCE VALIDATION For the selection programme, all original logbooks (stamped and certified by either your regulatory authority or employer) and original licences (+ photocopies) must be brought to Dubai for inspection as part of the selection programme. Failure to supply log books will jeopardize your continued participation in the programme. You must be able to present original logbooks for all hours stated on your application. Hours without logbook evidence will be discounted. Electronic logbooks/company records can be accepted, provided they are stamped and certified by your employer or a regulatory authority. Upon joining, the UAE GCAA regulations for the reciprocation of Flight Crew Licences are as follows:  All logbooks must be brought with you at the time of joining. It is mandatory that the logbook has been certified by the Chief Pilot or Director of Flight Operations, verifying the type of aircraft and hours flown.  If an individual holds a book type licence, then each page of the licence must be stamped and validated by the regulatory authority of the host country issuing the licence.  If an individual holds a plastic type licence, it must be accompanied by a letter from the regulatory authority to confirm that the licence is valid. 7.0 CAREER PROGRESSION Emirates recognize the career progression aspirations of our Pilots. Transfers between aircraft fleets will be offered whenever possible, at the discretion of Fleet Management and in accordance with company policy. Command Eligibility Criteria The Company criteria for command upgrade are as follows:  Minimum 6,000 hours total time.  Minimum 4,000 hard hours, of which 3000 hours must be on any EK aircraft type. With a minimum 1000 hours actual time in an operating seat (stick time) must have been completed on the EK aircraft type on which the upgrade is planned before commencement of upgrade training.  Minimum 36 months in Emirates prior to promotion to Captain.  Possession of valid UAE ATPL.  Minimum of 4 PPC’s successfully completed on any EK fleet.  Minimum 12 months on type, from date of successful completion of initial PPC. 8.0 PROFIT SHARE SCHEME The Group Profit Share Scheme is based upon the financial results of the Emirates Group. The scheme rules are determined at the sole discretion of the Board of Directors of the Group and may be amended, varied or suspended from year to year as appropriate. Under the scheme rules, an employee who works for the entire financial year, from 1 st April to 31st March, will be eligible for profit share payment [if any], applicable to that year. If you join after 1st April and before 30th September, you will be entitled to a prorated amount for each calendar month of service. Those who join after 30th September will not be entitled to enter the profit share scheme until the following year. 9.0 PROVIDENT SCHEME & END OF SERVICE BENEFIT (EOSB) The Company has established a Provident Scheme which is set up under a Trust governed by Isle of Man Law and which is administered by the Trustees in accordance with the Rules of the Scheme. As a condition of your employment you will be required to participate in the Provident Scheme. You will be required to contribute 5% of your basic salary to the scheme (although you may, if you wish, contribute a higher percentage). The Company contributes at the rate of 12% of actual basic salary for the first ten years of service and at 15% thereafter. However, in accordance with the UAE Labour Law, the guaranteed minimum payment in respect of Company contributions is calculated on the basis of 21 days final basic pay per year of service for each of the first five years of service and 30 days final basic pay per year of service thereafter. 9.1 Benefits paid upon termination of employment Less than 5 years service: Provident Scheme benefit accumulated on employee’s contributions only, plus End Of Service Benefit, calculated at 21 days basic salary, per year of service Over 5 years service and less than 7 years service Provident Scheme benefit accumulated on employee’s contributions, plus Higher of either: 75% of the accumulated market value of Company’s contribution OR End of Service Benefit calculated at 30 days basic salary, per year of service More than 7 years service Provident Scheme benefit accumulated on employee’s contribution, plus 100% of the accumulated market value of Company’s contribution. 10.0 SICKNESS AND ABSENCE After completion of the probationary period of service, and subject to the provision of acceptable medical certificates, full basic salary will be paid for up to 52 weeks of sick absence. If medically certified to work for shorter hours or on non flying duties, you will be required to do so. However, you will be paid full basic salary. If you are absent from work due to sickness/ an accident, you must not leave the UAE unless travel is authorised by your Departmental Head in liaison with Senior Vice President Medical Services. 11.0 MEDICAL AND DENTAL PROVISIONS You will be covered under a Medical Insurance Scheme, which provides 24 hour worldwide cover. The policy also provides life and accident insurance benefits. The premium for compulsory family cover [spouse and up to three dependent children residing in Dubai] is paid by the employee. Additional children will be insured at a marginally higher premium. In Dubai, you and your entitled family members will be registered with the Company Medical Clinic, which provides primary medical and dental care and where necessary will arrange, at Company expense, referral to external medical specialists. The Medical Insurance Scheme does not cover existing ailments. There is a two year waiting period for non-urgent minor surgery and a six month waiting period for pregnancy and pregnancy-related conditions from the time the female employee or spouse joins the scheme.

Should you currently have private medical coverage for yourself and/or your family it is strongly recommended that you do not cancel this medical cover prior to joining the Emirates Group, particularly if you or your family have pre-existing medical conditions. It is also strongly recommended that you do not cancel any existing medical insurance cover for yourself and family until you have satisfactorily completed your 6 month probationary period. Eligibility for Group Dental Cover is determined only after clinical assessment is carried out at the Emirates Dental Clinic. 12.0 LOSS OF LICENCE INSURANCE The Company insures all Flight Crew as listed below, against permanent loss of licence arising from accident or sickness: Age of Flight Crew All ages up to completion of 61st year Ages 62 to 63 years Ages 63 to 64 years Ages 64 and above

13.0 ACCOMMODATION The Company provides and maintains a high standard of furnished, air-conditioned accommodation, which is normally ready for occupation upon arrival. If permanent accommodation is not available on arrival, the employee will initially be housed in temporary accommodation. Family members’ arrival should be delayed until permanent accommodation is available. Temporary accommodation, whilst furnished, is not provided with items such as linen, TV, music system, tableware and kitchenware. The employee may request the issue of the Starter Pack, the cost of which [between AED 860-AED 1000] will be deducted from the Furnishing Allowance. Allocation of Company accommodation is dictated by family status: Position Family Status Captain Irrespective of marital or family status First Officers Married with children aged below the age of 18, who are permanently resident with them in Dubai First Officers Married without children, or whose children are not permanently residing with them in Dubai First Officers Single

If First Officers are upgraded to Captains, then they will also be entitled to apply for villa accommodation, regardless of marital or family status. The Company pays for telephone installation in Company accommodation and provides a telephone allowance towards the cost of telephone rental charges, of AED 100 per month for First Officers and AED 200 per month for Captains. 13.1 OPTION ONE - FURNISHED COMPANY ACCOMMODATION Under this option, the employee will be allocated Company provided accommodation, with Company provided furniture, appliances and furnishings, which are given to the employee.

The Company will contribute towards the charges for cooking gas, electricity and water consumption, for normal living purposes to the value of AED 21,600 per annum. The employee will also receive a Starter Pack, which consists of essential linen, tableware and kitchenware to enable them to live in the new accommodation upon arrival. A list detailing the items in the Starter pack will be available on the joining portal once you receive your Contract of Employment. A Starter Pack Allowance of AED 3,300 is also provided, to enable the purchase of any additional household items required. This is paid in the first week after joining the Company. The costs of furnishing the accommodation unit, Starter Pack and the Starter Pack Allowance will be amortised in equal monthly amounts over a period of 5 years. (N.B. actual cost of the furnishing varies according to the size of the accommodation). If an employee leaves the Company before the value of the furnishings and allowance have been fully amortised, the amount to be repaid will be calculated on a pro-rata daily basis and the amount due will be debited to the employee’s end of service benefit. The Company does not accept the return of items in lieu of a cash repayment. Under this option, the employee will receive an annual Refurbishment allowance of AED 1500 for a First Officer and AED 2000 for a Captain, commencing 12 months after moving into his accommodation. The Company will not be responsible for the maintenance of the employee’s furniture, furnishings or appliances; neither will the Company provide pest control or cleaning services in furnished or unfurnished Company Accommodation options. 13.2 OPTION TWO - UNFURNISHED COMPANY ACCOMMODATION Under this option, the employee will be allocated unfurnished Company accommodation and will receive a ‘once only’ Furnishing Allowance of AED 30,000 with which to furnish and equip the accommodation. The Company accommodation provided will be an ‘empty shell’, without floor coverings, furniture, curtains, appliances etc. The Company provides temporary accommodation for one week to employees who take this option. There will be no further extensions to this. Thereafter, employees choosing to take unfurnished Company accommodation must make and pay for temporary accommodation arrangements. The Furnishing Allowance of AED 30,000 is based on the average cost to furnish an accommodation unit to Company standards and includes the cost of the Starter Pack and Starter Pack allowance. A Starter Pack [basic linen, kitchenware, tableware] can be provided on request and the cost of the pack [between AED 860-AED 1000], will be deducted from the Furnishing Allowance payment. The Furnishing Allowance given to an employee is written off in equal monthly amounts over 5 years. When an employee receives the Allowance he/ she will be required to sign an undertaking to repay the Company the unamortised portion of the allowance should he/ she leave the Company before the allowance has been fully amortised. The Company will contribute towards the charges for the utilities [cooking gas, electricity and water charges] consumed to the value of AED 21,600 per annum and will pay for the installation of a telephone. The employee will also receive an annual Refurbishment Allowance commencing twelve months after moving into the accommodation. 13.3 OPTION THREE - HOUSING ALLOWANCE

The Housing Allowance option is provided, if an employee wishes to rent a property or purchase a property in Dubai. The employee will receive the Housing Allowance applicable to the grade: Captains: AED 14,240 per month (AED 170,880 per annum) First Officers: AED 12,680 per month (AED 152,160 per annum) The employee will also receive a once only advance allowance of AED 30,000 to furnish his accommodation. No other allowances are payable. There is no entitlement to the Annual Refurbishment Allowance. Installation of a telephone line and arrangements for electricity connection are at the employee’s expense. Bills for water, gas, electricity consumption and applicable municipality charges, will also be paid by the employee. The employee will initially be provided with up to 3 months temporary company accommodation which will enable time to explore renting or purchasing options. Employees in Company accommodation who wish to apply for the Housing Allowance must apply in writing to the Facilities Operations and Maintenance Department 3 months in advance. On receipt of the application, the employee will be advised if and when the Housing Allowance can be released. The Furnishing Allowance given to an employee is written off in equal monthly amounts over 5 years. When an employee receives this amount, he/ she will be required to sign an undertaking to repay the Company the unamortised portion of the allowance should he leave the employment of the Company before the allowance has been fully amortised. An employee who opts to take the Housing Allowance option cannot at any time later change to Company accommodation. 13.4 ACCOMMODATION CHANGES There is no option to change the Company accommodation which has been assigned to you. 13.5 PETS The Company discourages the keeping of pets in Company provided accommodation, particularly in apartments, but recognises that some employees may wish to keep pets. If you have pets, which you wish to bring to Dubai, you will be required to inform the Company upon signing the contract of employment. Many landlords do not allow pets and the Accommodation department will need to consider this when allocating Company accommodation. No guarantees can be given as to whether you will be allocated accommodation in which you can house your pet. Please note that all arrangements and costs connected with bringing pets to Dubai, quarantine and clearances are the employee’s responsibility. 14.0 EDUCATION SUPPORT ALLOWANCE There are a wide variety of schools in Dubai at all levels of education and catering to various nationalities and language abilities. Children are admitted based on their academic record and subject to a place being available. The Company pays a contributory Education Allowance for a maximum of 3 dependent children (between the ages of 4 and 19, provided they are in fulltime education at either a primary or secondary school- not nursery level).

The maximum rates of Education Support Allowance per child are up to: Primary school: AED 34,000 per annum Emirates pay 100% of the first AED 17,000 and 90% of the balance, up to a limit of AED 34,000 per academic year Emirates Pilot Briefing Document - Version 25. 05/10

Secondary school: AED 54,000 per annum Emirates pay 100% of the first AED 27,000 and 90% of the balance, up to a limit of AED 54,000 per academic year Confirmed school places can be difficult to obtain and most schools have waiting lists. Additional schools are being built, however employees are strongly advised to make early arrangements to register their children for schooling. Emirates will reimburse the cost of one school registration fee, per child, up to a maximum of AED 500 each child. We recommend that due to the high demand for school places, you register your child with at least two or three different schools, however additional registration will be at the employee’s expense. A one off payment of AED 2,000 for admission fees will also be reimbursed. The Education Support allowance may also be applied against school fees for children who are being educated overseas. 15.0 EXCHANGE RATE PROTECTION The Company provides an Exchange Rate Protection scheme [ERP] whereby 50% of the basic salary is protected against exchange rate fluctuations between the UAE Dirham and their currency classification. The Company uses a ‘Threshold Protection Exchange Rate’ which is the statistical average exchange rate for the last five years; the ‘Threshold Protection Rate’ is set annually on 1st January. Payment, if applicable, will be made to a maximum ceiling of 15% above the threshold protection rate. Your currency classification is related to your nationality, passport(s) held, place of domicile etc and is linked to the Annual Leave Destination; it may not be changed during employment. 16.0 ANNUAL LEAVE You are eligible for 42 calendar days annual leave [including public holidays] credited at 3.5 days per month. Annual Leave cannot normally be taken until the end of six months, i.e. upon completion of the probationary period. Leave shall be taken in accordance with the leave bidding / roster system established by the Company. 16.1 ANNUAL LEAVE DESTINATION The Annual Leave Destination [ALD] is set solely at the discretion of the company and is based on a number of factors, including nationality, permanent address, residency rights and taxation status, employment history and point of recruitment. The Annual Leave Ticket is only issued to the Annual Leave destination for the first three years of service, thereafter the ALT may be used for any destination on the Emirates route network. 16.2 ANNUAL LEAVE TRAVEL Once per year, for the purpose of taking annual leave, you and your eligible family members resident with you in Dubai, will be provided with tickets as follows:  If Emirates operates to your ‘Annual Leave Destination’- a return ticket to the Emirates destination.  If Emirates does not operate to your country of ‘Annual Leave Destination’- a return ticket to an Emirates online destination nearby or an International Airport nearest to your hometown if included on the Company’s list of approved Annual Leave Destinations. An eligible family member is defined as the spouse, and up to three unmarried children who have not attained their 19th birthday and who are undergoing full-time education. Education Leave travel tickets (ELT) are available for those children in full time education outside Dubai, at the rate of two per child per year, (to a maximum of three children) up to Emirates Pilot Briefing Document - Version 25. 05/10

the age of 23. Education Leave tickets can be issued prior to the completion of six months service. First officers are eligible for Y/J status tickets and Captains for J/F status tickets. Children under 16 years are not eligible for upgrade. 17.0 CONCESSIONAL TRAVEL After six months of continuous service you are eligible for concessions on Emirates: Unmarried Employees are entitled to unlimited concessional tickets on Emirates at category A rate [subload] and at category C rate [firm]. Employee’s Father, Mother, Brother[s] and Sister[s] are eligible for two tickets per year on Category A rate [subload] category and unlimited category C rate [firm] tickets. Married employees are entitled to unlimited concessional travel tickets at ‘A’ or ‘C’ rate for employee, spouse and children under 21 years and for children between 21 and 23 years, if in full time education. For children over 21 and for the employee’s Father, Mother, Father in law, Mother in law, Brother[s] and Sister[s], the entitlement is two tickets each per year in Category A rate and unlimited Category C rate tickets. Prior to six months service, tickets are available at the category C rate only. 18.0 CAR LOAN You will be eligible to apply for an interest free car loan up to an amount of AED 70,000 for the purchase of a car. The car loan is recovered from the monthly salary in equal amounts over a period of 4 years. 19.0 DAYS OFF All crew members have a minimum of 7 days off in any consecutive 28 days and an average of at least 8 days off in each consecutive 30 day period, averaged over three such periods. These figures will be prorated in relation to periods of leave. 20.0 TRANSPORT Transport is provided as a pick-up service between the employee’s residence and point of duty and vice versa, if living in Dubai. If living outside the confines of Dubai, the pick-up service will not be provided and no allowance will be paid in lieu. The Company does not provide recreational transport. 21.0 STOPOVER ALLOWANCES Stopover Allowances apply at all layover locations, paid in local currency. Details of these will be provided by Flight Operations, outlining the current rates and locations. 22.0 DUAL NATIONALITY Dual nationality holders should choose which passport they intend to use for visa endorsement. Due to security related requirements, US and Australian passport holders MUST use this passport over others held.
