Board of Governors Award The Board of Governors Award reaches beyond those usually awarded for television news and production by recognizing achievements by individuals, organizations or companies in community service or other worthwhile endeavors within the National Capital Chesapeake Bay's region. Historically, the Board of Governors Award is presented for truly outstanding achievement and unique accomplishment of some duration and durability. This year, the award will be presented to Jayne Miller, WBAL-TV investigative reporter. Ms. Miller has been with WBAL for over 30 years. Jayne Miller WBAL-TV Investigative Reporter

Ted Yates Award The Ted Yates Award is presented to an individual(s) who has demonstrated outstanding professional and personal qualities in their contribution to television news and public affairs in the National Capital Chesapeake Bay region. Ted Yates was an NBC News producer who traveled the world on assignment. Killed in the practice of his profession, he is remembered for his achievements in journalism. Alison Parker and Adam Ward were shot and killed during a live broadcast on WDBJ7, the CBS affiliate in Roanoke, Virginia on August 26. “Adam and Alison were not only good journalists; they were unfailingly positive about their profession. Out of a thousand applicants, these are the two people you would have picked to work in your organization,” said Jeffrey A. Marks, president and general manager of WDBJ7. Alison Parker WDBJ7
