OBJECTIVE At the end of this lesson, the pupils are expected to: 1. describe the rotation of the planet Earth on its axis. 2. recognize and describe that the rotation of the Earth produces observable effects such as day and night. 3. locate the different places in the globe. 4. value the importance of the Earth’s rotation. As far as i can remember, Earth is the third planet in the solar system and only planet can sustain life. This is the planet where we live.
5. Motivation (Teacher presents a globe) Children, look at what i am holding. Tell me what it is.

Alright. What is a globe?
Globe is a model of our planet Earth.
Very good. Now, if I will spin the globe, are the places of the globe moving?

Earth spins on an imaginary line called axis within 24 hours. It rotates toward the east or in a counter clockwise direction.
What is the cause why we have day and night?
