Cat Stevens is also regarded as a master of fingerpicking with songs such a Moonshadow. Then he grew a beard and is'nt quite as popular.

Paul McCartney is a folk fingerpicking genius with such lovely songs as Blackbird and Yesterday. Legend.

Love him or hate him this guy is a good fingerpicker with a very retro stryle. He must heave been listening to lots of folk guitarists to develop his sound. also check our Don Mclean, ,Jeff Buckley, Bob Dylan, and all the black blues dudes like Robert johnson and Mississippi John hurt. I think John Hurt and Elizabeth Cotton are like the gods of this whole tradition with Chet Atkins being the lightning blast to get it popularised. Yay to fingerpicking. Yay to serious practice to get it to flow properly.
