Packet Tracer – Home IoT Implementation Scenario In this Packet Tracer scenario, Bob has begun to implement an IoT solution in his home. You will explore the variety of devices and manipulate environmental factors to s ee the impact on sensors and actuators. You will also configure some basic settings, including IP addressing for a sensor, and security settings for the gateway router. Finally, you will verify that all the devices in the home have IP connectivity.

Click Home to expand the cluster.

For the unconnected device, verify that it is configured to connect to the Home Gateway for the IoE Server, and that DHCP is enabled for the IP Configuration settings.

Step 6: Fire suppressio n An IoT fire suppression system has been installed in each of the bedrooms and the kitchen. In this IoT demonstration, there will be a simulated fire while you are away from home, and you can observe how the fire suppression operates using the status of the smoke detectors. a.
Exit the Home cluster by clicking Back . Click the ISP-Internet cluster to enter it.
b. From Smartphone, enter www.register.pka in the Web Browser. Enter admin as the Username and admin as the Password to log in to the local IoT server hosted on Registr ation Server . Note: It may take a few tries before the web page displays.

Expand all the statuses for the smoke detectors. Are any devices missing from the list?

Step 7: Further investigation a.
In the previous step, you observed that Home Gateway and Registration Server can be used to control the IoT devices remotely. You can change ho w these devices are accessed remotely. 1) Click the device. 2) In the Device tab, select None, Home Gateway, or Remote Server . For the activity, the server address is www.register.pka (209.165.201.10) and admin as username and password. 3) Within the server, you can add conditional statements for devices capable of actionable configurations.
