the outlook of the building is merely a composition of various forms which is arranged vertically or at inclined angles. Landscape courtyards are provided. Space frames are provided at many places to form semi covered areas. Open spaces remain informal in nature with multifunctioning possibilities through which the institution gets a sense of place an the complex as a community.

STRUCTURE Framed structure is used in all the different departments and blocks. Building has a combination of two materials . Concrete blocks for walls and a lot of steel work, visible steel columns and roofing is present which adds on to the aesthetics of the building as a whole.

ADMINISTRATION BLOCK • • •

The administration department consist of various different departments - academic affairs, controller of exam, accounts building department, current affairs and directors cabin. Inside the admin. Block the main entrance has the reception in front. It is double heighted which is visible from the connecting passage. As we can see in the plan the main foyer is curved which gives a very warm and welcoming appeal while entering.

The elevation of the building is a composition of various forms. These forms are arranged vertically and others at inclined angles. Different geometrical shapes has been added in the elevation of the building. The steel roofing act as of the main element in enhancing the elevation the whole building .

There are 5 big staircases running through the whole campus the give a very grand appeal and also adds on to the aesthetics of the building .

In the site some area is been left out for the future expansion which is under construction now

CANTEEN CANTEEN SERVES 80 PEOPLE AT A TIME. It also serves hostel students Total area – 169 m sq. Sufficient natural light.

OTHER SPACES There are many open spaces in the whole campus which remain informal in nature. The central court can accommodate 600 people where different functions are performed. There are 3 courtyards between built block There is a stage area near lawn for other activities.

ABOUT THE BUILDING The entrance of the campus is heavily surrounded by trees and plantations maintained by government authorities, which protect it from the air and noise pollution of the city. The 'Kaliya Sot' dam is located at the rear end of the campus and the Kolar river, a tributary of Narmada, flows alongside the campus. All these together make up the delicate picturesque beauty of the campus

The institute is still under construction and yet to be completed. There are main4 blocks or building which are all G+3. Two Blocks – Institutional buildings – accommodate class-rooms, studios, workshops, resource Centre, IT-Lab, Administration, Canteen. Fixed sized areas on all floors or approximately same are given for different rooms such as lecture hall, faculty room, textile design department and other areas. All the laboratories are of the same size irrespective of their functioning.

WORKSHOPS General workshop of wood, iron ,metal work is carried out. Dying lab – dying and coloring of fabrics and clothes are done here it has washing machine, wash meter and other dying machines also a refrigerator for the storage of chemicals Weaving lab has 9 dispay board, 3 weaving machines, 5 mannequins for trial of clothes, 2 woolen manufacturing machines. Leather workshop has 24 sewing machines, first aid box provision, 4 cupboards and table for faculties

GIRLS HOSTEL 42 girls students of the first year can be accommodated at the Tagore Girls Hostel located at Shyamla Hills (10 kms from the campus).  Shyamala Hills is one of the beautiful and posh areas of the Bhopal.  State Assembly building, CM Residence, Bharat Bhawan, Ashoka LAKE VIEW Hotel, Upper Lake, etc. are at a walking distance.  Double occupancy rooms are well equipped with the bed, mattresses, study table, chair,CUPBOARD, etc.  It has a visitor’s room, pantry, medical room, 24 hours hot-water facilities. 24 hours lady care-takers, lady warden, Doctor on call and night duty exservicemen security are provided. The hostel has recreation room with Dish TV and indoor games.  Badminton, Volleyball and basket ball ring, etc. are provided.

BOYS HOSTEL

A canteen / mess on the campus provide qualitative – hygienic food to all the students.  On payment of semester’s mess fees, students are provided breakfast, lunch, dinner, and evening snacks on all the days – including holidays.  Girls hostellers are provided with the bus facility to take food (Breakfast to dinner) on the campus.

Three bed-rooms, Hall, Kitchen luxurious officers apartments located on the campus itself provide hostel accommodation to the first year’s boys students.  Each double-occupancy bedrooms are well equipped with bed, mattress, table, chair, intercom telephone, cupboard, etc. At the ground-floor, a canteen/mess and recreation room is located.  Dish TV, Sports facilities, doctor on call, male warden, round the clock security are also provided

The Library wing of the Resource Centre comprises the print and non-print information sources. The library wing of Resource Centre have a rich collection of books and non-book materials covering the core areas of study such as textiles, fashion design, history of costumes and fashion, accessories, apparel construction, International, trade, marketing and management. Resource Centre also subscribing approx. 70 renowned National and International print journals.

The Resource Centre of National Institute of Fashion Technology, Bhopal aids as the creative and innovative center of the Institute. It supports the teaching, learning and research activities of the institute to meet the mission of academic excellence. It houses quite a good number of print collections in the field of Textile, Accessory, Fashion, Design and satisfies the teaching and research needs of its use community. In addition to this the Resource Centre provides access to various renowned online databases, e-journals, e-books etc. The fully air-conditioned and Wi-Fi enabled Resource Centre provides a peaceful environment conducive to study. There are two wings in Resource Centre, library wing and the material wing.
