“THREE DOGS” I had these three dogs that stayed together for some time. One was the mentor, one was the partier and the smallest was the one that kept the two big dogs in line. The two bigger ones weighed around 65 pounds. While Chicaboo the smallest stands about 6 inches from the ground. I have been around these three dogs every single day. I have watched closely to observe there demeanor when they sleep, run, eat and play. My most loyal white male dog would stay in every night. Yet like an old maid the small one keeps her distance. Though these two never snuggled in 9 years, neither did they fight. My male dog had such a tolerance for putting up with the females typical, relentless ways. He reminded me of my grandpa, as crazy as it may sound. A man of kind actions with little to say. Looking at the over all picture you would think the two bigger dogs were the closest of the three. Yet when tragedy struck, I never thought it would be an a awakening for me. My beloved male dog took sick to cancer and suddenly he passed away. The silence and absence of his presence still breaks my heart to this very day. The bigger female never seem to acknowledge her running buddy was gone at all. It hit much harder on the little grouchy one that is so small. Her and my male had a bond built on respect, love and faith. She morned for days, she slept and never ate. Through her actions her loss became so clear to me. What may look so visable to us is not always what we see. We want the company of those who make us laugh, and believe me, there is nothing wrong with having fun. But it just might be the ones we confine in, have faith in, respect and look up to that matter most when our day is done.
