welcome, dear artist of life!

Congratulations on making the important choice to honor your dreams and goals in 2019. This is a huge step towards living your dream life—a life designed by you, for you! y ou! I’ve been using a yearly workbook since 2014 (the year I started Lavendaire) and I can’t begin to tell you all the amazing benets to having one. I found clarity and guidance to help me change my life. During my early twenties, I was incredibly lost with no sense of direction and it was incredibly frustrating. Fast forward to now, I absolutely love the life I’ve created today today.. That kind of transformation doesn’t happen overnight, but over years of self-discovery and exploration. Lucky for you, I’ve compiled all al l of the exercises that have helped me create my dream life into this very workbook. In this third edition of the Artist of Life Workbook, I’ve listened to feedback, then redesigned and added more exercises to make this experience even more valuable. I’m condent that if you commit to lling out this workbook and reviewing it often, you will see change and growth in 2019 that will astonish you. Within these pages lie li e the clarity clarity,, direction, and condence you’ll need to make your wildest dreams, goals and intentions come true.

Are you ready to make magic happen in 2019?

current me vs. future me Current Me vs. Future Me is an exercise I created in March 2012 (see photo) because I was in such a negative, depressing place in my life. Since then, I did this exercise once a year in the same notebook, and it’s it’s been crazy to see how my “current me” doodles have increasingly looked like my “future me” doodles! Visit the online resources link (p. 54) to see my current me vs. future me drawings from 2012-2017.

directions • On the next page, draw your current self. Paint the picture of what you currently look, feel, think, and act like in this moment. • Then, draw your ideal future self, where you want to be exactly one year from now. Paint the picture of what you look, feel, think, and act like in that moment. • Compare the two—how different is the future self from who you are now? What changes would have to be made to support that transformation? Strive to take small steps towards becoming that ideal future self, starting today.

self love

Before we go on to set your goals for the year, let’s rst focus on you . Change starts from within, so you must create a solid foundation to work with.

Take a look in the mirror mirror.. Do you love and adore this person? Do you see beauty? Do you see strength? Would you do anything to make this person happy? This year, year, make time to pour love & care into your most important relationship: your relationship with yourself. Designing a beautiful life begins with self love. Self love breeds self condence, self worth, self respect, self forgiveness. Do not underestimate its power.

lessons  foor the j our ne y   f Pursuing your dreams is not for the faint of heart. As fun as it is i s to set goals and dream big, it’s not always easy to stay committed and motivated throughout the journey journey.. Here are some tips to help you stay consistent and on track with your goals, as well as overcome any obstacles you may face along the way.

43

LAVENDAIRE.COM

how to stay committed 1. Review your goals often and remember why you set those goals. Write your goals in a place where you will read them daily or weekly weekly.. Set a reminder in your calendar to review this workbook monthly. The more you re-read your responses and remember your “why,” the more you’ll take action and manifest manif est your dreams.

2. Break down your goals into small, easy, actionable steps and work on the most important tasks rst. Remember that any action is better than no action, and that “done is i s better than perfect.” Use the Goal Book (p. 57) to plan your q quarterly uarterly & monthly goals and reect on your progress

throughout the year.

3. Keep yourself accountable.  One way is to track your actions with the Habit Tracker (p. 61). Once you see your progress on paper, paper, you’ll be motiv motivated ated to keep it going. You can also nd a

person you trust to keep you accountable.

4. No excuses.  The only thing that can come between you and your goals are your excuses. Notice when you make them and stop yourself! If you want something bad enough, you can nd a way to make it happen.

5. Self-forgiveness. Nobody is perfect and the path to greatness is not linear; rather rather,, it’ it’ss an ongoing wave of ups and downs. If you fall off track, just pick yourself back up and try again. Don’t waste time feeling bad about it. Keep going no matter what.

on fear Let’s talk about our friend, Fear. Fear is a natural emotion that happens to all of us. The purpose of your fear is to keep you safe from danger, so anything risky, new and unknown will conjure up feelings of fear. The key here is not to erase fear completely—that’ completely—that’ss impossible. Rather, the key is to acknowledge that fear, and take action anyway. True courage is taking action despite your fear.

fear setting Inspired by Tim Ferriss, Fear Setting is an exercise that helps you address and analyze your rational and irrational fears. It helps you manage your fears, allowing all owing you to prepare for them without letting them take over. On the next page (or on a separate piece of paper), complete the fear setting exercise by listing all the fears you have about pursuing your dreams. At the end of it, you’ll realize that even if your worst fears came true, you would be able to survive them. As long as you’re still ali alive ve and breathing in the end, you’re okay okay.. Life goes on.

the cost of fear

What is your fear costing you if you let it win? What happens if you listen to your fear and do what it says? Where will you be in i n 1 year year,, 5 years, 10 years?

goal book  b ook

from dream to reality

Welcome to the beginning of your new life. Now here is the fun part: This T his is the space where you get to plan out your goals and bring them to reality reality.. Achieving your goals begins with prioritizing what’ what’ss important, breaking it down into actionable steps, then focusing on one task at a time. Don’t overthink it. One foot in front of the other other.. In the following pages, you will nd: • Quarterly Goals - to do at the beginning of each quarter • Monthly Goals - to do at the beginning of each month • Monthly Tracker & Gratitude Journal - to do throughout the month • Monthly Review - to do at the end of each month • Quarterly Review  - to do at the end of each quarter

What is the most important goal or project you want to start working on now? Begin by writing that in your quarterly and monthly goals. Then follow foll ow the prompts to create an action plan for your goal. At the end of each month, reect on your progress and use that feedback to do better the next month. Strive for continuous improvement i mprovement so that you’re constantly growing.

Also, take time to review your responses in the entire workbook at the end of each month. That way,, you remain focused on the goals and intentions you set for yourself at the beginning of the way year. Remember,, you are in control of your lilife. Remember fe. This workbook will only work if you  take action and do the work. Good luck!
