Tangram is an ancient Chinese puzzle consisting of seven pieces that are five triangles, one square and one parallelogram. The basic rules of playing tangram are the seven pieces of tangram must be used, they must lay flat and touch without overlapping. Use the tangram patterns on this page or page 24 to print a tangram or tangrams on a thick paper, such as a photo paper. These patterns have the same size as the tangram activities used in this workbook, page 1 through 20. The tangram activity on the left page is designed for younger children. In this activity, they will learn to recognize and match the tangram shapes. The next step on the right page is the activity to form an animal shape, given only the silhouette. For older children or adults can use page 21 for the silhouettes and page 22 for the solutions. Large tangram patterns can be found on page 23.
