POSTAL INFORMATION. Letter Post.
In the United Kingdom, including the Channel Islands: for letters and parcels not exceeding one ounce, id. not exceeding two ounces, \\d.\ and \d. for every additional two ounces or fraction of two ounces. No letter may exceed 18 inches in length, 9 inches in width, or 6 inches in depth. Unstamped or unpaid letters are charged double postage on delivery those insufficiently stamped, double the deficiency. Book Post. The postage on any book packet within the United Kingdom, in a cover open at the ends, and not exceeding 18 inches in length, 9 inches in width, 6 inches in depth, and 5 pounds in weight, is \d. for every two ounces, or fraction of two ounces. Newspaper Post. Newspapers registered as such at the General Post Office, and so marked, can be sent through the inland post for id., and abroad, if posted within eight days of publication, at slightly increased rates. ;
