Bushie 1 Bus. apples, 1/2 Bus to Finley, 1/4 to Freeman, 1/2 to Freeman, 1/2 Bus. McGrory & 1/2 Bus. turnips to Calahan, 3 Bus. to McKenna & Coda & c & c. Sat. April 9, 1892 Pleasant most the day. Windy & cooler. Chored about. Taped my shoes. Sawed up a little wood. Washed. Washed shirt, stockings, & c. Sun. April 10, 1892 Pleasant but windy & cool. At home all day & chored about house & c & c. Sent Spencers watch to Boston ( for Elmer to repair) by A.O. Miller. Mon. April 11, 1892 Pleasant but very windy & cool. Chored about home & c & c. Geo. Metcalf came to night. Tues. April 12, 1892 Pleasant but cold & windy. See to R.R. & office. Willie went to Providence. Sorted apples & carried 11 Bus. to Ride Newell, 1 to A. Bushee, 2 to Finley & 1 Bus. to Hawkins & 1 Bus. potatoes to Cotter. Geo. Metcalf came again to night. Wed. April 13, 1892 Pleasant & cool. Windy. Chored about home. Cleared up some in the horse barn & c & c. Thurs. April 14, 1892 Pleasant most the day & a little warmer. Carried a load of 1130 lbs. hay to Dean & Sherman & 1/2 Bus. potatoes to H. Talbot & 1 Bus. apples to Alvin Fisk. Called & see Dr. Nolan.

Fri. April 15, 1892 Cloudy most the day & cool. Carted a load of 895 lbs. hay to M. M. Daniels & a load of 935 lbs. to Dr. Nolan.

Cloudy part & pleasant some of the day. Cool. Chored about in the A.M. Went to Woonsocket in P.M. Carried some soap greese & got soap & lost some of it. Carried some for Abbie. Went to the Peoples Bank for Elmer. Got 2 Bus. meal & 2 Bus. oats. 6 lbs. crackers, & c & c. The old school house (or the Hopkins house) burned down between 5 & 6 o’clock this P.M. I stoped to the fire when I came home from Woonsocket & a timber came over my foot & lamed my left foot. Sun. April 17, 1982 Pleasant & a little warmer. About home all day. E. Samuels called up here a while. Picked & cleaned a hen & put on to make soup of the cars cuss over. Stewed some beans for my supper & c. & c. Mon. April 18, 1982 Pleasant. Was frose some this morn. Chored about. Went & got a load of wood for F. Landry over A. Newells lot of dry pine. This P.M. carted a load of 1090 lbs. hay to M.M. Daniels. Geo. Metcalf came this morn & back here with team to night. Tues. April 19, 1892 Pleasant & cool. Chored about. Mr. & Mrs. Burgess called to see what she could find out about the Hopkins place & c & c. Geo. Metcalf & team here to night. Wed. April 20, 1982 Pleasant & warm but tub was frose over as thick as window glass this morn. Chored about. Carried out lot rotten apples. Carried Mrs. Curran 1 Bus. Russetts. Geo. Metcalf came back to night. Thurs. April 21, 1892 Pleasant part the day & cloudy part. Began to rain between 3 & 4 P.M. Warmer. Chored about. Sorted & put up apples. Trimmed 2 bus. turnips. Got in some wood. F Landry’s man sawed 2 hs. on my old ties. Mr. Leer & D. Carson came up to see my hay. I sold Leer my best for $20.00 per ton & the other for $8.00 to be delivered . Geo. Metcalf went home this morn. Left his horse here. Fri. April 22, 1892 Cloudy most the day & warm. Began to rain before 3 P.M. & rained but little. Is raining some this eve. F. Landry pitched over a load of hay for me. 1/3 of an hour. 1095 lbs. I carried to M. Lee at Franklin. F. Landrys man sawed old ties 2 hs. I helped Frank split 1/2 hour. Trimed some turnips & c & c. Carried on the load of hay 1 Bus. Apples to A. Bushee & 1 Bus. to Mr. Sargeant. Called & engaged some horse manure of Mrs. Cotter.

Sat. April 23, 1892 Pleasant & warm. Chored about home. Made a soup, fixed wall & c. Side pasture & c & c. Geo. Metcalf started for Ashland to day. He left me some paper & Envelopes. Elmer at home. Sun. April 24, 1892

Very pleasant. Elmer came home in the night or about 1:30 A.M. Ella came with him & I went back to Ashland with him to night. He came with John’s horse &Alvah’s buggy. I staid in store with him & took breakfast at Millers. Called up to Alvahs & at mill & at Johns & came home on the cars from Ashland at 8 A.M. the 25th. Mon. April 25, 1892 Pleasant but cold. Ice quite thick & ground frose. Took breakfast with Elmer. Met Alvah on street & got in & rode with him. Went home with him & stoped a few minutes & at mill & called at Johns & at store. Isa carried me down. I came home on the 8 A.M. train from Ashland. Trimed a few turnips, sorted a few apples & c & c. Mr. Allan had his goods loaded in car & left his horse for me to pasture & stored buggy in my barn. Thurs. April 26, 1892 Pleasant. Very cold morn. Ice. Fixed fence around pasture & turned D.B. Allans horse & my cow out. His horse got out. Sorted some apples, carried 1 Bus. potatoes to J. Cotter, 3 Bus. turnips to Coda & McKenna, 1 Bus. to D. Corsan, 1 Bus. apples to A. Bushie, 1/4 Bus. N. McGorory. Called at Town Farm & see Daniel Greene & Mc Pherson. Wed. April 27, 1892 Pleasant. Cold morn. Ice in tub. Chored about, fixed fence a little. Loaded a load of 1235 lbs. hay & carried to Mr. Leer. F. Landry helped me load 2/3 of an hour. I went to Woolfords to sell Emmas horse & got an offer of 10.00 for it. Alvah is here to night. Came over with Emma. A man found dead up by John Chilson place. Horse for Emma. Thurs. April 28, 1892 Cloudy windy & cool. A little sprinkle of rain. Loaded a load of 585 of hay & carried to Mr. Leer. Went & called Emma from straw shop & we went to Woolford & traded her old horse for a younger at wagon. Alvah & Herman went to Ashland & changed horses for Emma. Alvah here to night. Fri. April 29, 1892 Cloudy & humid part the day. Warmer. Chored about house some. Cleared up in barn some & c & c. Alvah went home this P.M. I went up the hill with Emma’s horse & got a load of hay. Alvah & Emma went with me. Sat. April 30, 1892 Very pleasant & cool. See to trains & c in A.M. for Willie. He went to Franklin,. Sorted & carried 3 1/2 Bus. Apples to Woonsocket For 3.50 got 1 Bag furtelisor, called & see Elias Ware & wife. Sun. May 1, 1892 Ice Cloudy most the day & cool. Began to rain a little before night. I went to Ashland with Emma to take a buggy, she borrowed, home to the stable. Elmer had gone to Boston. Took dinner with John & Sarah. Went up to Alvahs a while. Started back about 3 P.M. Called at C.A. Stockbridges & see John. He is quite sick -- Rhumatics. Mon. May 2, 1892

Very warm. Pleasant part & cloudy part the day. Rain this eve. Willie went to Providence. I see to mail & R.R. Worked on hen yard fence some & around pasture. Tues. May 3, 1892 Stormy part the day. Worked about house some. Isa made me 3 pies. Worked around hen house some. A dog killed 2 roosters this morn. I picked & fixed one & gave one to Mrs. Curran. Wed. May 4, 1892 Cloudy part & pleasant part. Very Warm. Chored about. Worked fixing hen yard fence, loaded 1210 lbs hay & carried to M.M. Daniels. Thurs. May 5 1892 Pleasant most of the day & warm. Chored about, made a chicken soup & c. Worked on hen yard fence. Took down part the wire fence back of horse barn. Trobridge up to buy lumber. Fri. May 6, 1892 Cloudy most the day & warm. Began to storm a little about 5 P.M. Aaron Canney plowed for me in A.M. or a little over 5 hs., the piece by horse barn & the other side of R.R., top the hill by R.R., & race meadow. I trimed the apple trees some & cleared up the vines & c. Sat. May 7, 1892 Very pleasant & cool. Chored about. Harrowed piece by horse barn, fixed cow yard gate & c & c. Mahoney had horse to draw manure for Willie, 2 hs. Sun. May 8, 1892 Pleasant part & cloudy part the day. Cool morn. Chored about. Elmer came home & Ella with him. With John’s horse & carriage, they went back to night. Mrs. Lasure had the wheel brake down & throwed her out & hurt her arm & shoulder to night.

Mon. May 9, 1892 Very pleasant & warm. Carried Nettie, Emma & John to Franklin. Bt home 800 lbs Furtelisor & 1 lb meal. Chored about house some. Helped D. Mahoney furrow for Willie 1 hour & he helped me 1/2 hour. I sawed a little wood for J. Curran. The Assessor was here this P.M. I called & see Ruggles & was sworn as weigher & c & c. Tues. May 10, 1892 Very pleasant & warm most the day. Chored about. Carted & laid out a load manure on the piece by horse barn. Planted a few peas to night. The first I have planted this season.

Wed. May 11, 1892 Cloudy & began to storm before 10 A.M. Chored about. Cleaned up some in horse barn up stairs. Moved sleigh chest & c from under old barn in to barn & David Mahoney throwed over manure under old barn after 945 A.M. Thurs. May 12, 1892 Cloudy & warm with but little rain till most 6 P.M. than began to rain - quite hard. D. Mahoney throwed over manure under old barn in A.M. & this P.M. helped me get stove down stairs into the spare room & we got a load of hay from old barn to horse barn & he put several loads manure on further side of orchard by house & spread it & we plowed it. There is 4 tramps in old barn to stay to night. Fri. May 13, 1892 Cloudy all day. D. Mahoney worked for me. Dug up the wall. Planted 1 Bus. Queen potatoes, some beans, cucumbers, squash, radish. Set out the onions & c. We put on 5 load manure. I cut the asparagus Isabel washed for me. Sat. May 14, 1892 Pleasant & warm. D. Mahoney for Willie 1 hs, helped me load 1185 lbs. hay. I carried to Mr. Leer. I got 2 bags furtilisor & 5 of grain & 2 for M.M.D. J. Tower sent & I put in pasture 1 cow & 1 Heifor. I fixed the fence some on top the hill. Carried 1/2 Bus. potatoes to H_?__ Talbot & 4 bunches asparagrass to Mrs. W. Clark. Jos Sullivan picked stones beyond the swale. Sun. May 15, 1892 Stormy & warm. At home all day. Baked beans, brown bread, _?_ & ginger bread & c. Emma came home from Ashland. F. Landry at home to day. Mon. May 16, 1892 Pleasant most the day but had a shower between 11 & 12. Aaron Canney plowed the piece back old shop down as far as wincopy tree 1/2 day. Jos Sulivan worked for me. He scraved up the cow-yard in A.M. & in P.M., planted some potatoes 1/2 bus. (or 3 lbs.) & some beans & we dug up hedland & c back of shop. I went to J. Cotters & got 3 & part of 1/2 Bbls of hen manure to night.

Plastering Tues. May 17, 1892 Very pleasant & warm. A Greenwood & another man came & put plastering on the store & the room over it & c & c. I fixed hen yard house, put hens in to night. Had Aaron Canney harrow the piece back of old shop 2 hrs. Tower’s Teams carted 4 1/2 load horse load of plank from here to day. Bought 60 tomatoe plants. Willie at Providence Wed. May 18, 1892 Very Pleasant & warm. Willie went to Providence. I see to train & c. Jos Sullivan worked for me . We plowed a little by the bees & he went & got Mr. Canneys harrow & harrowed back of old shop & we furrowed 10 furrows & put in furtilisor in 5 rows & hen manure in 5 & planted 1 bus. potatoes. New

Queen small ones. J. Tower had his telg. poles sawed up to day & they carried off 2 load more of plank. Thurs. May 19, 1892 Pleasant A.M. Cloudy & cool P.M. Rain this eve. I went & got A. Greenwood & another mason & a load of morter at Franklin. Went early & had a big load. They plastered in the store & a piece in kitchen here down stairs. Jos Sullivan worked for me. Planted a few potatoes & we sorted apples. They rot very bad. Went after & caught Nellie Hewett & M. Foster. They & others brung a basket to Willie. Wadsworth this eve. Fri. May 20, 1892 Stormy most the day. Chored about. Got the 2 Bbls Apples ready & sent to Boston to E.F. Derby & Willie sent 2 Bbls with them. Sat. May 21, 1892 Stormy most all day & cool. Chored about house most the day. Besides the other chores, cooked a boiled dinner & c & c. Sun. May 22, 1892 Cloudy & rained. A little warmer. At home all day. Chored about, baked beans & c & c. Mon. May 23, 1892 Stormy part the day. Cleared off before night but is cloudy again at 9:30 this eve. Chored about, sprouted & put up 1 Bus. potatoes & carried to J. Collins & 1 bus apples to A. Bushee & 1 bus. to Mc Grory & 1/2 to ____. Tues. May 24, 1892 Pleasant most the day but had a light shower. Jos Sulivan worked for me in A.M. Beetled manure front of old barn. In P.M. I went to Woonsocket & East Blackstone got hay-seed meal, furtilisor & c & c, carried 3/4 bus. apples & sold. J. Tower sent 2 more cows, put 1 in my pasture & one in Willies & put heifor from my pasture to Willies but it would not stay.

Wed. May 25, 1892 Pleasant most the day but very windy. Warmer. Jos Sullivan worked for me. Beetled manure back horse barn. We furrowed some back of old shop & planted 1 1/2 bus. or more potatoes. 1/2 bus large ones. Planted 2 rows on Stockbridge & 2 on Chiltodon & 2 on Stack & 2 on Chiltodon. Thurs. May 26, 1892 Stormy till about 8 A.M. Cleared off & clouded up & cloudy & warm part & pleasant part the day. Helped see to R.R. & mail. Willie gone to Ashland with Emma. D. Mahoney & Jos Sulivan planted Mrs. Currans potatoes. I helped part the time. Furrowed with my horse, planted between 2 & 3 Bus. potatoes. Put on 2 bags of Stockbridge fertiliser & 35 lbs. of Bradley. J. Tower had looked over the lumber some & took a load & I went to the mill & showed him their pine planks. Fri. May 27, 1892

Stormy part the day & pleasant part or some the time. Jos. Sullivan worked for me 2 hs. in A.M. & about 5 in P.M. We planted the rest the potatoes back of old shop & some corn I got of Mr. Hadley. Carted out 3 load manure to plant the corn on . Planted 1 pk. Decota seeds, a few early & a few seedlings. Fixed up a shelf for Mrs. Curran. Sat. May 28, 1892 Pleasant, windy. Jos. Sullivan worked for me. Furrowed over again the piece for corn back of old shop & manured out & planted the remainder of it in A.M. He helped me load a load of 1220 lbs. hay this P.M. that I carried to Mr. Leer & after 3 o’clock, he worked for Willie. I went up & see the plowing on Hermans in A.M. a few minutes. Sun. May 29, 1892 Pleasant. At home all day. Cooked beans, brownbread & c & asparagrus. night. Mon. May 30, 1892

Cloudy most the day & some showers & a little sun shine. Jos Sullivan worked for me. Carted out manure, harrowed & furrowed out some by horse barn. Set out 30 or more tomato plants. Tues. May 31, 1892 Pleasant & very warm. Jos Sullivan worked. Cut up a little brush, carted out 2 load manure & spread the manure by horse barn & harrowed it. We planted some sweet corn, beans, mellons, beets & c. Loaded the last of the hay to carry to Franklin to morrow. Wed. June 1, 1892 Very warm & pleasant. See to R.R. & P.O. Willie & the rest gone to Providence. Carted a load of 1355 lbs. hay to Mr. Leer. Got 1 Bag corn, 1 Bus. barley for Willie & c & c. *I expect Nettie was married this A.M. to John Cluley. I left off my draws to day. *Nettie (Abbie Jeanette Wadsworth), Joseph’s oldest daughter, was married to John Clewley today. Ethel (Clewley) Morse, Nettie’s great granddaughter, still resides in Franklin as of this writing. See photos on next page. Bees

Thurs. June 2, 1892 Very warm & pleasant. Chored about. Planted some California squash & Rattlesnake mellons, some Pole beans & c. Got some brush out the grass, cut the asparagrass. D.B. Clark & Mersie had the horse & buggy to go to *Mr. Peniman’ funeral Bees swarmed . Large swarm. *Town records show Mr. Partridge Penniman, 84, died on May 30th of old age. Fri. June 3, 1892 Stormy part the day & warm pleasant part of P.M. Planted a few pole beans, mellons, cucumbers & c & c. To night, hived a swarm of bees for Willie. One stung me over the eye. It was most dark before they found them. Bees swarmed Sat. June 4, 1892

Cloudy part the day & a little cooler. Chored about. Planted some squashes, some potatoes, some citroms, some parsnip, some parsnips & c . c. Bees swarmed a good sized swarm. Cleaned out Mrs. Curran’s cellar. Sun. June 5, 1892 Pleasant & cooler. Chored about house most the day. F. Landry was at home most the day. * 4 paws circus. Went by on cars, 3 train loads. *See newspaper advertisement on next page Mon. June 6, 1892 Pleasant most the day but had light showers. Chored about. Throwed over part the stuff back & under the privey. Carried Ad Darling & Nancy home to night. Tues. June 7, 1892 Pleasant & warm. Chored about. Finished throwing over the stuff under the privey, cut the asparagrass. Cleared up some in horse barn. Horse loos last night or this morn. This morn milked J. Towers cow that is here pasturing. Wed. June 8, 1892 Pleasant most the day but cloudy or stormy part. Chored about. Sowed oats & grass seed on the piece next to J. Canneys & the road. Harrowed & bushed it in. It took a long time to catch Mr. Allen’s horse to night. She kept going back & forth to the orchard & about & would’nt let me catch her for most an hour. Thurs. June 9, 1892 Showery & warm & is raining this eve. Sowed some cabbage seed, leveled off around the piece where I sowed down & c & c. Took care of Mrs. Curran’s baby while she went to Franklin & back in cars.

Fri. June 10, 1892 Pleasant, cool & windy. Chored about in morn. Milked J. Towers cow in morn, let him know she had a calf & he sent & got them to night. Chs Miller & Elmer came this morn on 923 train. Talked house affairs over in AM & I got dinner for us & this PM, I got Canneys horse & we went as far as Abner Cooks & to H. Pecks & M.M. Daniels. A. Newells, D.B. Clarks, G.C. Friskes & Hubbards & about. Left Chs Miller at Depot & Elmer went & bought a soda fountain. Sat. June 11, 1892 Very pleasant & warm. Chored about. Fixed for & put a seat on the roll & have rolled the piece by house that I sowed down this AM. Went to Rakeville & see to Taft. Called & see Alfred Darling. Cut the asparagrass to night. Elmer went this morn. 92o Sun. June 12, 1892 Very warm & pleasant. Chored about home. Looked up some old tax bills & c. Alvah & Elmer came to night about 5 o’clock & are here to night.

Mon. June 13, 1892

Very warm & pleasant. Alvah & Elmer took breakfast with me. E got it, I cut the asparagrass & he cooked it & about 7, they start for home. I went to Franklin & helped them load the soda fountain & c. See G C Fisher, S Sheppard & others. A Miller worked for me 3 1/2 hs. We cut up & hoed some back of old shop. Tues. June 14, 1892 Very warm & pleasant but had a thundershower this eve. A Miller worked for me 7 3/4 hs. Finished hoeing the corn back of old shop & some of the potatoes. A Miller was sick, 2 or 3 hs. I had a telegram to night to come to Dedham on the house case at 9 A.M. tomorrow. I went & see L. R Whitiker & others to night. Wed. June 15, 1892 Very pleasant & cooler. Done the chores & got ready & started for Franklin with horse about 6 1/4 A.M. Left the horse at Uncle Richardsons & took cars for Dedham. Went to court about the house, where the store & c is. I was on the witness stand & there was no one else call on the case & it was decided in my favor. Went into Boston & out on the 330 train. Got horse shad. See Leer but got no money of him. C Scott came in to court. Elmer there & Alvah M. & Melinda Frost & lot other. Thurs. June 16, 1892 Very pleasant most the day but clouded up before night. Arthur Miller worked for me 8 1/2 hs-- hoed the garden & some back of old shop. Mrs. Mahoney washed for me to day. Cut the asparagrass.

Fri. June 17, 1892 Very warm & pleasant till in P.M. a very heavy thunder shower came up about 5 o’clock. Rained very hard & heavy thunder & lightening. Herman & I went & measured & divided for the fence by the woods, top the hill & Willie has been having his half put up this P.M. Sarah was up here a while this noon talking about the house affairs & c & c. Cut the asparagrass. Sat. June 18, 1892 Stormed in the morn & cloudy most the day. Chored about - look after box for Arthur’s wagon, cleared up barn some. Went to Woonsocket in P.M. got some fence wire, tobacco, hungarian, & c & c. Sun. June 19, 1892 Cloudy part & pleasant some the day. At home. Chored about. Mon. June 20, 1892 Pleasant & warm. F. Landry worked for me. He cut some wood & c & helped me build fence on the hill next to the woods. We took away the old fence & set posts & put 2 & part of another string of wire on to my half of the fence. Lightning Tues. June 21, 1892 Very warm & pleasant in A.M. & had a very heavy thunder shower about 2:30 this P.M. Struck N. Hawes house & the elm in Hermons door yard & one by Mr. Hunts. L. Landry worked for me, cut a little wood & we finished the wire fence on the hill & I mowed the piece there with the horse. He picked a few

stones & pulled some white weed. We got some the rotten apples & c out the cellar. Set out 1 doz. tomato plants. Wed. June 22, 1892 Pleasant & warm . F. Landry worked for me clearing out the cellar & washing up Bbls & boxes most the day. I mowed some by horse barn, raked & got in the hay on top the hill but little of it for me. Thurs. June 23, 1892 Pleasant some but cloudy most the day & showery & stormy most the P.M. Cleared off to night. F. Landry worked in the A.M. Carried stuff out of the cellar & c & we went & got some peabrush & a few bean poles where Albert Newell cut off. Fri. June 24, 1892 Cloudy most the day but very pleasant part the time. Chored about. Mrs. Mahoney ironed for me & done some other house work. M. Hawkins at my mowing machine. This P.M. went to Franklin got horse shad, behind. Got candy & corn furtilizer & c. & c.

Sat. June 25, 1892 Stormy part the day & cloudy most the day. Carried a bag of Guano to D. Manhonies. Carried Alice Miller home. Called at JM Hunts. J Gower put another cow to pasture. Aaron Carney plowed a piece for turnips for me. I planted some squashes over, set out 50 or more cabbage plants & c & c. Sun. June 26, 1892 Pleasant some but cloudy most the day & rained hard about 5 P.M. At home all day. E.Simonds & Nellie Hewet called here for an hour or two & others here. Mon. June 27, 1892 Cloudy all day & rained a little about 6 (or before)P.M. F. Landry worked for me. Picked the potato bugs, hoed part the garden. We horse hoed part of J Currans potatoes. I poled part the beans & got some more poles. I fixed Mrs. Currans flower bed & set out some Sweet William & c & c. Helped Leasure load 885 lbs of his hay. He had my wagon to carry it to Franklin. Tues. June 28, 1892 Rained very hard most of last night, cloudy most of the day to day. Frank Landry worked for me. Picked potatoe bugs & hoed in garden & c. We bushed the peas. Horse hoed front of Currans garden & c & c. Wed. June 29, 1892 Cloudy most the day. Mowed a little by R.R. driveway to Leasures lot. He had Aaron mow part of his grass. F. Landry worked for me in P.M. Finished hoeing the garden & some back of old shop. Horse

hoed some there & some for Curran. I spread the hay & raked it up again. Geo Miller had my horse rake to take up their hay & F. Bennett went & got it & raked up Leasures & carried it back there. I looked over F. Landrys bill. Thurs. June 30, 1892 Cloudy most the day & rained about 5 P.M. Chored about house, poled & hoed the rest of the beans. Put in ice. Carried lot Bbls boxes & c down cellar. Fri. July 1, 1892 Cloudy, rained since this morn & most the time after 10 A.M. till towards night. Arthur Miller hoed for me 3 1/4 hs back old shop & after 2 P.M. F. Landry worked cleaning & oiling my harness. I helped some & cleared up in barn some & c & c. Sat. July 2, 1892 Pleasant most the day. Mixed some green & put over part the potatoes. F. Landry hoed for me about 2 hs in morn then took care of Willies hay. I spread the little I had out. Went to Franklin in P.M.

Sun. July 3, 1892 Cloudy & stormed part the day. Very hard shower about 530 P.M. Pored down. Chored about home. Went up to Hermons with horse & buggy to carry Hannah & Alice Miller to Blackstone but it rained so I didn’t go. Mon. July 4, 1892 Pleasant & cool. F. Landry hoed for me 2 1/2 hs & helped or took care of the hay for Willie the rest the day. I chored about . Got express wagon out for them to go to Franklin with Mr. Hawkins. Brought my machine home & I mowed part the piece back of horse barn 1 1/2 hs & have mowed the orchard by house to night. I helped get in Leasures 2 load of hay, 1/2 or 3/4 hs. Geo Miller came home with my rake & J. raked up the hay. DB. Allen & wife came out to see their old horse & went back on the train. Tues. July 5, 1892 Pleasant, quite cool. F. Landry worked for me. Hoed some back of old shop & spread the hay, trimed out some, & c & c. Helped get in 1 load for Leasure & they helped me get in a small load. I mowed the lower side the piece back of horse barn put the small load into horse barn. I went up to Hermans & raked up some of his hay with horse rake. Nettie & Willie went to Franklin - horse fell down & broke buggy shalay. Wed. July 6, 1892 Pleasant A.M. Had a heavy shower in P.M. About 2 1/2 hs F. Landry worked for me. Hoed in morn & helped take care the hay trimed out some & c. & raked some in PM till shower came. Then we put up the scaffold in old barn & chored up some & c & c. Put lot Bbls down cellar. I mowed the piece front of old barn by the cottage but didnt get it raked. Geo & Arthur Miller came & hoed & put on greensard, hour or more for my raking yesterday. Mrs. Mahoney washed for me today.

Thurs. July 7, 1892 Pleasant most the day. F. Landry worked for me. Put Guano on potatoes in morn, shook out the hay & trimed out some we got in 2 load. F. Bennett helped & we helped him put in horse barn. I mowed the corner by brook & RR below cottage & the orchard this eve. Willie had horse rake part the PM. John Stockbridge mowed for them to day. Fri. July 8, 1892 Pleasant AM. Cloudy PM & some thunder. F. Landry worked for me put green on part the potatoes & took care of some the hay. We got 1 load in to the horse barn from the orchard & 3 into the old barn. I mowed a little beyond the swale by RR. Willie had horse rake & he raked for me 20 minutes. Sat. July 9, 1892 Cloudy most the day. Began to storm or rain about 3 P.M. & is raining now at 9 30 . F. Landry worked for me till 4 PM. Opened & trimed the hay & c. We got 1 small load from orchard in to old barn & raked up the other after it began to rain. Willie had my horse rake up the hill. I went & got Mr. Morrells harrow & harrowed my piece for turnips. Geo Davis & family came to Abbie’s to night. Sun. July 10, 1892 Very pleasant. About home all day. Opened the 12 tumbles of hay as it was wet, was afraid it would spoil. Raked it up again. Picked & cooked some peas. Mon. July 11, 1892 Very Pleasant & very warm. Good hay day. F. Landry worked for me, greened some of the potatoes, mowed some & c & c. We mowed the piece beyond the swale front of old barn, got in one load & pitched off 21. Mow the milkweed from orchard & one on to the further end of scaffold over cow stable. Mowed a little in race meadow to night. Tar/coal 1 car of coal came this PM No. 4410-16/06 94.54 Tues. July 12, 1892 Very Warm. Pleasant. Good hay weather. F. Landry worked for me trimed out some & helped spread & get in 3 load hay from further side of swale. Put it on scaffold, this side, mowed English beyond ditch in race meadow. Willie had horse rake part the PM I went & got Hermons turnip marker this eve. Mrs. Landry had Dr to day. Wed. July 13, 1892 Very Warm, hot & pleasant. Looked some like showers (Thundered) but had none. F. Landry worked for me. Mowed some & helped on hay. Mr. ____ that worked for Willie, helped 2 hs, getting in & raking. Got in 3 load from race meadow next to the pasture. Put 2 in bay this end & 1 on top scaffold over cows. Mowed this side ditch in race meadow & some the other. Horse broke through the floor last night. Thurs. July 14, 1892 Very Warm but not very clear, rather hazy. A shower came most here about 12 1/2 noon it rained very hard at P. B. Clarks, but not here. Rained here about 4 o’clock. F. Landry worked for me in AM & about 2 hs in PM & a man that boarded there worked all day. Finished mowing race meadow. Got in one load from there to old barn. A Miller helped hs this PM on planting turnips. Got in, marked out & 10 rows droped. Mrs. Landry has a little girl. Fri. July 15, 1892

Pleasant & hot most the day. Had a little shower in PM. F. Landry & the man that boards there worked for me. Mowed in swale front of old barn. I mowed some with machine. Got this side the ditch mowed. I was sick in PM so could not help them. They raked it up but got in none in morn. Arthur came & helped me on the turnips 1 hour. Sat. July 16, 1892 Pleasant & cooler . Am a little better to day. Mowed the further side the swale & the piece next my woods. Part with machine. F. Landry & man helped. We got in 4 load, 2 from race meadow & 2 from front old barn. Put in mow in old barn. Sun. July 17, 1892 Very Pleasant & cool. At home all day. Am feeling a little better. Chored about. Coal 2d car Mon. July 18, 1892 Very Pleasant, cooler. F. Landry & boarder worked for me. Took care the hay & mowed part of Brook Meadow. I mowed from Dea. Lane to Pines & Canneys fence with horse & some below the pines by meadow. Got in 2 load, 1 to mow in old barn this end from swale beyond the ditch front of old barn & 1 to horse barn from further side by Whiting wood lot. I raked with horse & they raked the meadow. Mowed by Wikoby tree to night. Car of coal come this AM. Thurs. July 19, 1892 Pleasant most the day. F. Landry & Boarder worked for me. Mowed the remainder of Brook Meadow & I mowed among the pines the last of the mowing. Got 2 load in to the horse barn from side of Dea. Lane & this side & 2 load of Brook Meadow in to Old barn. F.L. Baby dead Wed. July 20, 1892 Pleasant & warm. F. Landry worked for me. Put green with water on the potatoes in garden & helped take care the hay. Put the scaffold up in the further end of old barn & got 1 load from among the pines & 2 from brook meadow & put on it. Got in the little from by Wykoby tree. Went to MMD & see Mrs. Geo Hancock a few minutes. F. Bennett commenced staying in down stairs to night. F. Landrys Baby died. Ella B married Thrus. July 21, 1892 Very pleasant & warm. Chored about. Cleaned out the privey at cottage. Fixed some for a coal bin by RR & c & c. Elmer came home to Ella B Daniels wedding & went back to night. Mrs Allen had her horse from pasture most the day & had her shad. F. Landry has been off to see about burying his child to Franklin & Woon. Nettie is at home. Fri. July 22, 1892 Very Pleasant & warm. Chored about some. Worked on coal bin some. Went to Franklin called to see Lee. He was gone to Boston. Got corn & c & c. Nettie made me 3 pies. Mrs. Allen went off with her horse & brought her back to night. Sat. July 23, 1892

Very Warm & pleasant. F. Landry helped me cart & shovel coal in A.M. & 1 1/4 hs this eve & he helped get in Willies Barley this PM. Put 2 ton coal in for S. Leasure & have carted 3 3/4 ton up to Mr. Huntley & got most the rest of the load in Bin I made side the car. Sun. July 24, 1892 Very warm & pleasant. At home all day. Chored about picked & cooked some peas. Mon. July 25, 1892 94 to 100 in shade. Very hot & no air, pleasant. F. Landry worked for me. I carted 1/2 ton coal to Homlty, 1 ton to Mahoney, 2 to Curran. Unloaded the last of car 4410 in the bin & commenced on car 4412. F.L. hoed in the garden some. Mrs. Quinman & a load of them came & called here to day this eve. I went to Mrs. Bryants to see about coal. Tues. July 26, 1892 Very Warm & pleasant. Chored about. Worked on the coal some. Carted 1 ton to Mrs. Bryant. Went & got load of slats at Mr. Canneys. Fixed fence where cows got out & let them in front of old barn most the day. Wed. July 27, 1892 Very warm & pleasant. Chored about. Fixed coal bin. Sold & got out ice for several to day. Thurs. July 30, 1892 Pleasant & warm but cooler than yesterday. Finished unloading car 4412 of coal fixed bin & picked up scattering coal & c & c. , found dead hen in haymow by cow stable. Sun. Landry worked for me. Oiled the harness & we set out some cabbage & planted over part the turnips & this P.M he pulled the weeds side the R.R. in race meadow lot. Tower for 25.00 & her keeping. Tues. Aug. 23, 1892 Very pleasant & warm. Elmer went this morn through Boston. I went & looked the Darwin Cook lot over with Ben Guild. Fixed the paper in the cottage bedroom & carried a bed & spring over & put up for Mrs. Curran & filled a straw bed for her. They are putting in a new wall at Bald Hill. Wood on lot sold. Wed. Aug. 24, 1892 Very pleasant & warm. Worked in & about the house part of AM. & sold BF. Guild the ED. Cook woodlot. Picked a few Bus apples good & poor. Sold the E.D. Cook woodlot to B.F .Guild for 135 without the land or 165 with the land, as I choos in 6 weeks, if I let him know, to be paid for before he carrys the stuff off or by December next. Thurs. Sept. 2, 1892 Very pleasant & cool morn. Most a frost. Warm day, cold to night. F. Landry finished sawing up the old ties. Let him. I carted a load of 26 Bus cider apples & sold to S. Jordan for $3.12. Got some meal, got collar to the harness mended, got groceries & c for P. Bennett & others. Sat. Sept. 3, 1892 Very pleasant & warm but cold morn & to night. Chored about. Picked the tomatoes, dug a few potatoes. Got our ice & c & c. Dick Young helped me load a load of 1105 lbs hay. I carried to SH. Barrett this PM. Called at Uncle Richardsons & got grip that Elmer sent by Frank Metcalf. Sun. Sept. 4, 1892 Pleasant yet looked like a storm. At home all day. Chored about. W. Richardson & others came up from Franklin & trimed my hay rack with Advertisements for the Jog along, to go in the procession tomorrow. Mon. Sept. 5, 1892 Cloudy morn but very pleasant & warm day. I wrote what should of been here on Sept 8th page, so will write for the 8th here. Very Pleasant & warm but cold morn & night. Haven’t felt very well but helped Arthur Miller shUck the rest of my field corn 1 2/3 hs & he dug 8 Bus potatoes & helped me sort or put up 10 Bus’s. Carried to Mc Kan & Cody & 1 Bus apples to F. Richmond. J. Canney has my express wagon to go to Woonsocket with to morrow. Wed. Sept. 7, 1892 Very pleasant & warm but cool morn & to night. Haven’t felt well to day. Chored about. Had a shower in the morn about 5 o clock & a little rain after but cleared off very pleasant & warm. This should of been wrote on Tuesday Sept 6 th. Fri. Sept. 9, 1892 Very pleasant & warm. Cool morn & night. A Miller dug the potatoes by horse barn & some back of old shop & helped me load 990 lbs hay. I carted to LR Whitiker. I took the Jog along advert. off the hay rack. Haven’t felt very well so haven’t ate but one meal. Sat. Sept. 10, 1892 Very pleasant & warm. Cool morn & night. Carted a load of 965 lbs meadow hay to Mrs. CF Briggs & a load of SS good hay to McKenna & Cody. A Miller helped load it & he dug potatoes back of old shop. Sun. I carted to Austin Chilson & helped me pick 1 1/2 Bus apples, 1/2 Bus beans & helped cultivate out part the turnips & wed some of them. Tues. Sept. 13, 1892 Cloudy part the day & warm. Arthur Miller dug potatoes helped me 8 hs on turnips & sorting potatoes & taking J. Towers heifor to MM Daniels & we took dinner there & helped him get in a load of Barley & c. They finished the wall at Bald hill. Wed. Sept. 14, 1892 Very stormy most the day. Most in PM this eve. Warm. Chored about at barn & cellar & c & c. Thurs. Sept. 15, 1892 Very Pleasant & warm. Chored about some . Carried a load of 655 lbs meadow hay to FP. Guigan. Bt home 9 old ties Sanderson gave me. Carried him 1/2 Bus to stables to sell. Arthur Miller helped load the hay & finished weeding the turnips & dug potatoes. Fri. Sept. 16, 1892 Very pleasant & warm. Chored about. Carted a load of 1075 lbs hay to FP Guigan for Willie. Got me 1 Bus corn & c & drawed home some old ties Mr Sanderson gave me at Stockbridge Crossing. Willie had F Bennett & Arthur Miller rake cranberries to day. Sat. Sept. 17, 1892 Very pleasant & warm. Chored about. Sorted & put potatoes down cellar & c & c. Herman got 2 lbs of me. Sun. Sept. 18 1892 Cloudy & foggy morn, but came out pleasant & warm. At home all day. Cooked some green beans & squash & c. Walter Daniels called up here. Mon. Sept. 19, 1892 Pleasant & warm till most night than clouded up & rained a little this eve. Worked on the coal some. Chs. Hawkins got 2925 & I carted 1000 to Mr. Whilford. I went over the meadows to see if there was any cranberries & found but very few on my lots.

Wed. Sept. 21, 1892 Slight frost this morn. Pleasant & warm to day. Chored about. Sorted a few potatoes, carted 1/2 ton coal to Whitford, thrashed a few beans & c & c. Mrs. Mahoney washed for me. Mary Sayles at the other house to day. Alvah here to night. Thurs. Sept. 22, 1892 Pleasant & warm but cool morn. Some frost I think. Chored about some. Sorted some potatoes, thrashed a few beans, helped some on the plowing & c & c. Aaron Canney plowed the piece by R.R. in race meadow - 2 hs. Fri. Sept. 23, 1892 Pleasant & warm most the day but raines some this eve. Chored about. Worked at the cottage most the time after 10 1/2 AM till night or 6, papering the little wood house & back room. Papered it with several kinds of paper. Went & helped get Willies cow & calf down this eve. Walter Daniels came & got 11 chickens I sold him for 2.75, 28 1/2 lbs. Sat. Sept. 24, 1892 Showery but pleasant part the day. Chored about. Sorted a few potatoes, fixed fence this side of Brook Meadow between Carney & my lot. Set several posts. Sun. Sept. 26, 1892 Calf sold Stormed some in morn. Had a thunderstom in morn. Were very noisy at the cottage all night. Chored about. Picked up a few potatoes the last of them & carried down cellar. Picked the tomatoes & c & c. Sold & carried calf to Austin Chilson for $8.00. Tues. Sept. 27, 1892 Very pleasant & cool or very windy most the day. Arthur Miller worked for me 8 hs cut up the sweet corn & got it in & 6 stacks of the field corn that had blown over. Picked the apples in little orchard 8 Bus & some in race meadow. 1 tree of Baldwins, most 2 bbls of hand picked. Picked part the grapes by hog pen about 3 pecks. Willie & G. We carted the weeds & c of the lot side the R.R. or race meadow & began to horse hoe but gave it up, then picked the apples on the ground in orchards. Than went picked about 10 Bus chestnut _?_ in my lot beyond the swale. Willie carried a passenger to Hopkinton & is going to Ashland. O Donnell up here to night.

Sept. 30, 1892 Very pleasant & warm. Chored about. Sawed a little wood. Went to Franklin. Carried a few apples, got a bag of corn, had horse shod new behind. See E. D _?_ & got his check, got 30 lbs candy & c & c. Sat. Oct. 1, 1892 Very pleasant & warm. Chored about. Sawed a little wood, Winnowed beans, picked, mellons, pulled a few beans, carried 75 lbs coal up to Mike Naughton. Sun. Oct. 2, 1892 Very Pleasant & Warm. Cool morn & night. Chored about home all day. Geo Coffin at the other house came last night. Frost first of any amount Mon. Oct. 3, 1892 Cloudy most the day & a little rain. Hard frost last Night. The first to kill the Dahlias. Picked & pulled most of the pole beans , sorted a few apples & chored about. F. Bennett went to Wm Moses to work this morn. Brake in to office Tues. Some one broke in to the Post Office last night, the window was pried open & up, but nothing missing but from my woodhouse, some one took one of Elmer,s over coats. I chored about. Sorted & put up 25 Bus cider Apples that I have carried & sold to S Jorden for $13.00 & picked most of the others. Wed. Oct. 12, 1892 Very Pleasant & warm. Frosty morn. Arthur Miller helped me 3 hs. Finished picking the apples, sawed 2 old ties, & helped try to start the water up stairs. I got Canneys pump & new lead it but it would not come. So I stoped it up tight at old barn & it comes a little now. H.B. or O.A. Miller had a car of manure come to day. Thurs. Oct. 13, 1892 Very Pleasant & Warm but frost morning. Chored about house some. Carried a load of 22 1/2 Bus cider Apples to Willie Clark for Willie Wadsworth. Got some corn & corn meal & feed, got some apples into the house. Sun. Oct. 16, 1892

Cloudy most the day. Arthur Miller worked for me 9 hs. Carted manure on to the race meadow lot by R.R., got out the privey manure & some under horse barn. This eve I carted a load of goods to Franklin for F. Landry. They have moved to night into Booker’s house. I bought 3 Piggs of Mr. Wyly for 7.25, weighed 84 lbs.

Tues. Oct. 18, 1892 Cloudy most the day. Warm. Arthur Miller worked for me 9 2/3 . Got out manure from horse barn, cellar onto race meadow lot by R.R. & helped me load the remainder of F. Landrys goods. I carried them to night. Brought home 11 old ties from Stockbridge crossing.

Wed. Oct. 19, 1892 Cloudy most the day & warm. Arthur Miller worked for me in A.M. Spread manure, scraped up some in cow yard, pulled up brush & c & c. I went & got Mr. Poors cutaway harrow & he came & harrowed the race meadow piece by R.R. 2 1/2 hs. I paid Arthur $6.24 for work. Took up part the stable floor in old barn, drawed down a load of wood for Willie. They broke both my shalves off. Thurs. Oct. 20, 1892 Pleasant & warm. Chored about house part the day. Skiming milk, churning & c & c. Pulled & trimed 2 Bus turnips. Worked over the stable floor at old barn some. Fri. Oct. 21, 1892 Cloudy most the day & Warm but Windy. Arthur Miller worked for me 6 hs. Leveled off & harrowed the Race meadow piece by R. R. & cut some logs there. I sowed 1 Bushel Rye & didnt have enough to go all over it. Sowed it to grass seed. Fixed the stable floor at old barn. Sat. Oct. 22, 1892 Very Pleasant & warm. Done the chores & went to Boston on 8 43 train. See Elmer in Boston at 27 Tremont Road & went out to Ashland with him at 230. Took supper at Johns & went up to Alvahs in eve & came back to store to sup with Elmer to night. Sun. Oct. 23, 1892 Very Pleasant & warm. Had to get up about 4 & at 5 & 6. Went to Breakfast with Elmer at Mrs. Millers. Went up to Alvahs & stoped till most 1 PM. Called at Johns, as we went up a short time took dinner at Mrs. Millers with Elmer. Helped Elmer clean out & put up his stove pipe & c in the store. Took supper with him at Mrs. Millers & am here in the store to stop to night. *The Catholic Church is on fire at a little past 10 o’clock. *See newspaper article next page Mon. Oct. 24, 1892 Very Pleasant & cooler. Stayed in store with Elmer last night. We went to the fire of the Catholic Church about 10 1/4 o’clock last night. They got the fire out about 12 o’ clock. Saved part of it. Came home with Sarah got here about noon to day. I drove the horse for her. Arthur worked for me in AM. Cut old ties & done my chore while I have been gone. Heifer Tues. Nov. 4, 1892 Cloudy part the day & warm rains a little this eve. Chored about house some . Pitched on the load of oats for M.M. Daniels. I sold him 910 lbs. This PM, I went to Franklin. Carried 425 milk to Mrs. F Hancock, 2 Bus turnips to Dean & Sherman. Got 1 Bag corn, some tobacco & 15 lbs candy, called & see Richardson about lumber & got Abbie a bag of shavings & c & c. Sat. Nov. 5, 1892 Cold Snowed in morn, cleared off before 9 o’clock & clouded up again before noon & snowed most of PM. & has cleared off again this eve. Chored about. Pulled a few turnips & the beets. Fixed the barn some, cleared up some in the house. Emma & Ella helped some, swept the parlor & c & c.

Carried 1 Bus turnips to Austin Chilson & 1/2 Bus to Holarund & 4 or 5 milk to F Hancocks. Willie rode down with me & he come back with F. Paine. I cleared out the cellar in cottage for Mrs. Curran. Went to Woonsocket to Bank & to soap house & to mill. Got 3 bags grain, some onions & c & c. N. Hawes got his 25 7/16 lbs Butter & paid me $ 7.10 for it. Willie went to Prov. Went to Franklin, called at S_?_ mens room & to see Mason at his shop & to see Synairs but did not find him. Carried Mrs. Hancock some milk. Wed. Nov. 16, 1892 Rained very hard most all night & most of AM & this PM. Sun out some the time & rained some & rained some this eve. Now it is starlight at 9 45. Chored about. I whitewashed 2 rooms & clossetts, 2 coats & Dick Young painted some.

Sat. Nov. 19, 1892 Pleasant & warm. Went to Boston on the 8 43 AM. train. Geo Miller went with me. Met Elmer at 26 Federal St. Went about with him some. Went & see Chs Miller & Geo & I went in Austins _?_ & he went to So Boston with me. I bought 25 M shingles of E Pond. Met Elmer again in P.M. & went about with him some in eve. Geo & I went to the Boston Theatre. I got home about 1 35 this eve. Walked from Franklin. Sun. Nov. 20, 1892 Pleasant & Warm or quite so. Frose some last night. At home again. About all day. Cleared up or got a load of manure from side R.R. & spread on the grass beyond swale front of old barn. Emma gone to Ashland after piggs. Tues. Nov. 22, 1892 Windy & cold or chilley. Chored about some. Sorted a few Apples & c & c. Emma & Dick Young came home from Ashland. Brought 2 piggs & a lot of things, stove chairs & c & c. Some things came on the cars. I helped get them in. My shingles 25 m came. J. Tower came to get his Heifor & settled for Pasturing & has left it for me to keep for 3.50 a month. Wm Rockwood was here to day collecting Taxes. Wed. Nov. 23, 1892 Pleasant but windy & cold. Chored about. Isabel made me some pies & stuffed the chicken & c & c. I helped her some. This PM, I went to Franklin. Ella went with me. Thurs. Nov. 24, 1892 Very Pleasant & cold. Chored about. Geo. Miller helped me onload my 25000 shingles, 1/2 hour, & dig up the cherry trees, old ones. Arthur helped on trees. I took Dinner at Abbies with them & was at the * wedding of Emma. She was married at 5 o’clock PM to Wm A Young (they call him Dick). Rev. Moore married at her home. I cooked my chicken but have not ate it. *Emma A. Wadsworth, Joseph’s second daughter, born in 1864, has many great grandchildren living in Franklin at this writing. One of which is Peggy Marguerite, whose generosity in sharing many pictures of the Wadsworth family made these volumes so complete. Photos of Emma on next page and related pictures on June 1, 1892.

Nov. 26, 1892 Very Pleasant Cold morn but still & comfortable day. Geo & Arthur Miller worked for me 8 hs. Trimed brush in garden or the cherry trees 1/2 hour & on shingling the rest the time. Got back side the cottage most shingled, one coarse more to lay.

Nov. 30, 1892 Stormy all day. Snow storm. I went to Boston on 8 45 AM train. Got Excurtion ticket from Franklin & in to Mechanics Fair/ Met Elmer at the Depot & stoped & talked with him there. I went to So Boston & paid EG Pond for shingles & back to the Fair. Went into RR offices & to see ML Hall & came out to Franklin on 4 35 PM train from Boston & walked home. Arthur Miller did chores to night for me. Thurs. Dec. 1, 1892 Cloudy most of the day but not very cold. Chored about. Finished putting shingles on the cottage. Put the ladder boards on the cottage & cleared the roof off & shingled 1 side the wagon house & some on the other. Put 6 Bundles shingles on. Geo & Arthur Miller helped 8 hs. Sun. Dec. 4, 1892 Snowed a very little. Looked like a storm but cleared off. Very pleasant & quite warm. I got in some wood as I thought it would get covered with snow. Chored about house all day. Mon. Cloudy & damp & began to rain hard about 930 A.M. & stormed a little most the day. Geo & Arthur Miller came & worked about 2 hs on the roof & Arthur came & worked this PM 2 hs & we finished this side the L & took down the staging. I had to get up before 2 o’clock last night & to day have had to keep going out. Fri. Dec. 9, 1892 Pleasant & thawy. Geo & Arthur Miller helped me shingle on the L. Put up staging on back side & have got shingles up part way. 9 hs. Sat. Dec. 10, 1892 Cloudy very frosty & slippery on the roof to shingle. Begun to Snow about 245 P.M. Arthur Miller helped shingle on the L. Got the further end beyond chimney done & had to quit on acct of Snow. Was starlight this eve. I churned an hour or more this eve than gave it up. Isa came about 9 A.M. & washed & made me some mince pies & c. I helped some & chored about. Dick had my hay rack & got down 3 load hay. 4 or 6o /0

Very Pleasant & comfortable but cold frosty morn. chored about. Got the 4 Oil Bbls ready & sent to ML Hall, Boston this PM. Made some Irons for eve trough & put it up on back of the L. Took the staging down. Arthur Miller helped. Had 10 Bus grain come from A Mowry & c.

Sat. Dec. 31, 1892 Pleasant & comfortable weather. Hazy or looked like a storm part the day. Chored about home. Took D. B. Allen’s horse up to Hermons & had her shod. Cleared & cleaned up horse barn some. Cleared up some back of the L. the staging pole boards & c & c. This eve went & see Mrs. Geo Hancock. Mrs. AO Bennet went with Mr. Allen’s horse. 1893 Jan 1st Sunday Cloudy & begun to snow this P.M. & this eve it is raining. It snowed but very little. About home all day. Got in a few of the old shingles from back of the L. A very driving rain storm to night at 10 o’clock & before. Monday 2 d Pleasant & warm. Muddy, Windy, grew colder at night. Chored about. Cleared up the old shingles & c at cottage. Tuesday 3d Pleasant & growing cold. Chored about home. Went to Franklin this P.M. with Allen’s horse. Ella went with me. Wednesday 4th Cold but pleasant, windy. Chored about. Got Mr. D.B Allen’s Buggy out & dusted & greesed it & got that & the horse & buggy & he took them this A.M. to drive home to Everett. Cleared some in woodhouse & c & c. Thursday 5th Stormy, Snowed most all day & is this eve cold. Chored about home. Sent D.B. Allens sleigh to Boston for him. Friday 6th Very driving snow storm all day. Badly drifted, very ice snow, cold. Chored about home. Shoveled some snow. Saturday 7th Pleasant but Windy & cold. Chored about. Baked beens, mended some & c & c F. Bennett had a little boy. Sunday 8th Pleasant most the day & cold. About home all day.

Jan Monday 9th Cloudy & Snowed most of AM. Very cold but warmer in PM. Elmer came home. Fixed for & got his safe down stairs. Aaron Canney helped got it there at 10 o’clock to night or 945. Tuesday 10th Pleasant & cold but growing colder to night. Chored about picking & fixing house some & shoveled some snow & c & c. Elmer went back this P.M. at 4 he rode to Franklin with Emma. 6o

1893 11 Wednesday

Pleasant but very cold & windy. Chored about home. Built & kept a coal fire down stairs in the tuttle. Carried 375 lbs coal & 1/2 Bus Potatoes to Ad Blake. Wrote to A Mowry for grain. Thursday 12 th Cold. Cloudy but warmer. Snowed a very little. Shoveled snow to get to car & wood house to get safe. Aaron Canney helped me load it in the car. Took about 2 3/4 hs. This eve, put his reclining chair into the car. Friday 13th Cloudy AM. Pleasant PM. Very cold. Chored about. Blocked safe & chair in car & c & c. went to Woonsocket, got flour, grain & c.
