accomplice – A person that helps someone else commit a crime. Can be on purpose or not. ‫ من ساعد في ارتكاب جريمة سواء كان بقصد أو دون قصد‬: ‫ شريك‬. accountability Having to answer for one's conduct. Both police organizations and individual officers are distinctly accountable to the public, elected officials, and the courts for how well they control crime, maintain order, and perform these tasks while remaining in compliance with the law. ‫ المسائلة‬/ ‫الخضوع للمسائلة‬ ‫ والمسؤولين والمحاكم وذلك للتحقق من مدى النجاح في مكافحة‬،‫ضباط الشرطة والفراد يخضعون للمساءلة أمام المجتمع‬ ‫ وتنفيذ هذه المهام في إطار القانون‬،‫الجريمة والحفاظ على النظام‬. accused – The person that is charged with a crime and has to go to criminal court. ‫ الشخص الموجه له تهمة جنائية وعليه المثول أمام محكمة الجنايات‬: ‫ متهم‬. aggravated mayhem - Causing permanent disability or disfigurement with specific intent to cause the injury and with extreme indifference to well-being of other person. ‫عاهة مستديمة‬ ‫إحداث عاهة مستديمة بشخص أو تشويه مع نية متعمدة للاصابة وعدم مبالة زائدة في سلمة الشخص‬. aggravated trespass Unlawfully entering property of another with specific intent to carry out prior threat of serious bodily injury. ‫انتهاك مشدد لحرمة ملكية الرخرين‬ ‫ الدرخول إلى ملكيات الرخرين بغرض تنفيذ تهديد سابق أو إلحاق أذى بدني بهم‬. aggravated battery Unlawful use of force against another such as using a dangerous weapon. ‫ضرب شديد‬ ‫ التعدي بالضرب الشديد على شخص آرخر باستعمال قوة غير قانونية كسلح مثل‬. aggravating factors – Any factors associated with the commission of a crime which increases the seriousness of the offense. ‫عوامل مشددة‬ ‫ أسباب متعلقة بإرتكاب الجريمة من شأنها تشديد العقوبة على المجرم‬. anti-money laundering - designed to combat the laundering of money obtained by illegal means. ‫مكافحة غسيل الموال‬ .‫طرق مكافحة غسل الموال التي تم الحصول عليها بوسائل غير مشروعة‬ armed and dangerous - is carrying a weapon and has a violent background . ‫مسلح ورخطر‬ 2 ‫مصطلحات الشرطة‬ ‫وحيد فرج‬

‫ شخص يحمل سلحا وذو رخلفية إجرامية‬. arrest - The legal capture of a person who is charged with a crime. ‫القبض على‬ ‫ القبض على شخص بتهمة جناية‬. arson -The malicious burning of someone’s own house or of someone else’s house, or of someone’s commercial or industrial property. ‫حريق متعمد‬ ‫ إشعال حريق عمدا في ممتلكات الشخص نفسه أو بيت شخص آرخر أو ممتلكاته‬. assailant - person who assaults or attacks ‫ مهاجم‬/ ‫معتدي‬ ‫ الشخص الذي ينفذ العتداء‬. assault – When someone tries or threatens to hurt someone else. Can include violence, but is not battery. ‫ تهجم‬/ ‫إعتداء‬ ‫ عندما يحاول شخص ما الساءة إلى شخص آرخر أو تهديد بالساءة إليه أو التهجم عليه‬. assault with a deadly weapon - When someone tries to hurt someone and there is threat to do bodily harm without justification by use of a weapon like a gun or a knife. ‫إعتداء مع إستعمال سلح قاتل‬ ‫عندما يحاول شخص إيذاء شخص آرخر مع وجود رخطر احداث إاصابة بدنية رخطيرة دون مبرر بإستخدام سلح سكين أو مسدس‬ ‫مثل‬. at large (on the loose) - not caught, running free ‫مطلق السراح‬ ‫ إشارة على جاني لم يتم القبض عليه بعد‬. back-up - police that are called in to support or help. ‫دعم‬ ‫ طلب دعم بقوات شرطة إضافية‬. bad faith- Generally implies actual or constructive fraud, or a design to mislead or deceive another. ‫سوء نية‬ ‫ تتضمن في العادة عمل احتيال فعلي أو مدبر أو رخطة لتضليل شخص آرخر أو رخداعه‬.

baton (night stick) - heavy stick that police use for controlling crowds or defending themselves.

‫ عصا غليظة‬/ ‫باتون‬ ‫ تستخدمها قوات الشرطة لتفريق الحشود وفي الدفاع عن أنفسهم‬. battery – Illegal beating or physical violence or control of a person without their permission. ‫التعدي بالضرب‬ ‫ سيطرة على شخص دون إذن منه‬، ‫ عنف جسدي‬،‫ الضرب غير المشروع‬. bona fide Sincere, real without fraud or deceit. “in good faith.” ‫حسن النية‬ ‫ اصادق حقيقي بدون احتيال أو غش‬. book ( verb ) - register someone as a criminal. ‫تسجيل مجرم‬ bribe– A gift, not necessarily of monetary value, given to influence the conduct of the receiver. ‫رشوة‬ ‫ هدية – ليس بالضرورة أن تكون لها قيمة مادية وهي تعطى للشخص بغرض التأثير على مسلكه‬. burglar a person who breaks into a home or business and steals items. ( ‫لص مقتحم ) سطو‬ ‫ لص يقتحم المنازل والبنية ويقوم بالسرقة‬. bust –( v.) to catch and punish someone for doing something that is illegal . ‫ القبض على شخص لرتكابه عمل غير قانوني‬.

capacity– The person with the ability to perform under his or her will. ‫ قدرة‬، ‫أهلية‬ ‫ أهلية الشخص أو قدرته على القيام بأعماله بنفسه‬. carjacking -taking a motor vehicle that belongs to someone else against his will, by means of force or fear. ‫رخطف سيارة‬ ‫ قيام شخص بارختطاف سيارة شخص آرخر بالقوة أو التخويف‬. cell - individual room in a jail/prison. ‫زنزانة‬ ‫ سجن إنفرادي‬. check washing - The process of altering checks by using an acid-based chemical solution to erase amount and payee information. ‫غسيل الشيكات‬ . ‫عملية تغيير مضمون الشيكات باستخدام محلول كيميائي حمضي لمحو المبلغ المدفوع له أومعلومات أرخرى‬ 4 ‫مصطلحات الشرطة‬ ‫وحيد فرج‬

chop shop - An illegal operation at which stolen cars are disassembled and their traceable parts are altered or disposed of so that untraceable parts can be sold to repair shops, salvage yards, and indiscriminate buyers. ‫جريمة يتم فيها تفكيك السيارات المسروقة وتغيير أجزائها أو طمسها أو بحيث يمكن بيعا كقطع غيار للورش والمشترين‬ . ‫العشوائيين‬ commissioner of police- the highest rank in a police force ‫قائد الشرطة‬ community policing ‫رخفارة المجتمعات المحلية‬ . ‫النشطة المجتمعية للحفاظ على النظام; مساهمة المجتمعات المحلية في أعمال الشرطة‬ composite drawing – A picture of an alleged criminal created by a professional police artist using verbal descriptions given by the victim or a witness. ‫تصوير مؤلف‬ ‫ اصوره يرسمه فنان يعمل بالشرطة لمجرم مزعوم بناء على واصف الضحية أو الشهود‬. confession – When someone admits out loud or in writing that they committed a certain kind of crime. ‫إعتراف‬ ‫ اعتراف شخص بالقول أو الكتابة على أنه ارتكب جرم ما‬. confiscate - To seize or take private property for public use (the police took the weapon). ‫يصادر‬ ( ‫ مصادرة ممتلك رخاص بالمقبوض عليه ) الشرطة تسحب سلح المقبوض عليه‬. controlled substances- Any drug identified by law whose availability is restricted. ‫عقاقير محظورة‬ ‫ أدوية يحظر القانون تداولها‬. conversion - The wrongful assumption of ownership over the goods or personal property belonging to another. ‫اغتصاب وارختلس‬ ‫ ارخذ أموال وبضائع تخص شخص أرخر بصورة غير شرعية‬. convict - a person who is doing (or supposed to be doing) jailtime. ‫مدان‬ ‫ شخص يقضي عقوبة بالسجن عادة‬. cop/copper- police officer (common slang) ‫ضابط شرطة‬ coroner- Public official charged to inquire into the causes and circumstances of any death which occurs through violence or suddenly (suspicious causes). 5 ‫مصطلحات الشرطة‬ ‫وحيد فرج‬

‫محقق في أسباب الوفاة‬ ‫ موظف رسمي عام يقوم بالتحقيق في أي موت فجائي أو من جراء عنف‬. counterfeiting . the crime of making imitation money or other objects of value ‫التزييف‬ . ‫جريمة تقليد اصنع الوراق المالية أو أشياء أرخرى ذات قيمة‬ crime scene- the place where a crime happened . ‫مسرح الجريمة‬ ‫ مكان ارتكاب الجريمة‬. crime –Something you do, or don’t do, that breaks a law. If you are found guilty, you can be punished by: death; jail or prison; fine; being removed from office; being unable to hold any office of honor, trust, or profit. ‫جريمة‬ ‫مخالفة تفعلها أو تفعلها تستوجب بموجبها الحبس أو السجن أو العدام أو الغرامة أو العزل من المنصب أو المنع من تولي أي‬ ‫ منااصب شرفية أو الئتمان على أمانة‬. criminal record - (1) Arrest record. A written account listing all the instances in which a person has been arrested. (2) A form completed by a police officer when a person is arrested. ‫سجل جنائي‬ 1. ‫سجل التوقيف يسجل فيه كل يذكر فيه كافة المخالفات التي ارتكبها الشخص‬ 2.‫ النموذج الذي يعبأه الشرطي حينما يوقف شخصا‬. criminal record - a file that lists all of the crimes a person has committed. ‫سجل إجرامي‬ ‫ ملف يحوي كافة السوابق الجرامية التي ارتكبها شخص ما‬. criminal -Someone convicted of a felony or a misdemeanor. ‫مجرم‬ ‫ الشخص المدان في جناية أو جنحة‬. criminal street gang - An ongoing organization, association, or group of three or more persons, having as one of its primary activities the commission of one or more criminal acts, having a common name or common identifying sign or symbol, and whose members individually or collectively engage in or have engaged in a pattern of criminal gang activity. ‫عصابات شوارع‬ ‫ أو جماعة من شخصين أو أكثر لهم أسم شائع أو معروفين بعلمة أو رمز شائع أفرادها يرتكبون –فرادى أو‬، ‫منظمات دائمة‬ ‫ جماعة – أعمل ذات طابع جنائي‬. cruiser (squad car)- police car ‫ سيارة الشرطة‬.

deadly weapon – Any weapon, instrument or object that is capable of being used to inflict death or great bodily injury. ‫سلح قاتل‬ ‫ أي سلح أو آلة لها القدرة على إرخداث إاصابة بدنية رخطيرة أو التسبب في موت شخص‬. defamation -When one person hurts another person’s character, fame, or reputation by making false and malicious statements that are not protected by law. ‫تشهير‬ ‫ الساءة إلى أرخلقيات وسمعة شخص أو شهرته بنشر أقاويل غير اصحيحة وماكرة ليحميها القانون‬. defraud- To make a misrepresentation of an existing material fact, knowing it to be false or making it recklessly without regard to whether it is true or false. To practice fraud; to cheat or trick. To deprive a person of property or any interest, estate, or right by fraud, deceit or artifice. ‫احتيال‬ ‫ عالما بأنها غير اصحيحة أو بدون مبالة كونها اصحيحة أم ل‬، ‫ تقديم أو عرض حقيقة مادية أو جوهرية‬. detective- police officer responsible for solving crime. ‫مخبر‬ ‫ ضابط شرطة مكلف بحل لغز قضية‬. detention- When a person is temporarily locked up until the court makes a final decision. ‫حبس مؤقت‬ ‫ حبس مؤقت حتى تصل المحكمة إلى قرار‬. disorderly conduct- – Any behavior, contrary to law, which disturbs the public peace or decorum, scandalizes the community, or shocks the public sense of morality. ‫سلوك مخل بالقانون‬ ‫ أي سلوك من شأنه الرخلل بالسلم الجتماعي أو يزعج المجتمع بسلك غير أرخلقي أو يصادم المفهوم الرخلقي العام‬. distinctively/ marked– A vehicle, operated by a peace officer, is “distinctively marked” when in addition to a lighted red lamp and activated siren, the vehicle is of such appearance that a reasonable person would be able to recognize it as a peace officer’s vehicle, and a person fleeing is on reasonable notice that pursuit is by a peace officer. ‫ مميزة‬/ ‫مميز‬ ‫ السيارة التي يستعملها الشرطي " مميزة " بإشارات وألوان وأاصوات بحيث يسهل على أي شخص أن يتعرف عليها حينما‬، ‫مثل‬ ‫ تكون في مهمة‬. disturbing the peace- Conduct which tends to annoy all citizens, including unnecessary and distracting noisemaking. ‫إرخلل بالمن‬ ‫ سلوك ينتج عنه إزعاج ومضايقة أفراد المجتمع ن بما في ذلك إحداث ضجيج بل داع‬. do time - receive punishment for a crime by spending time in jail. ‫يقضي عقوبة‬ ‫ العقوبة التي يتلقاها الشخص والتي تقضي ببقائه في السجن فترة معينة من الزمن‬. domestic dispute- argument/trouble in the home(often leads to violence). 7 ‫مصطلحات الشرطة‬ ‫وحيد فرج‬

‫نزاع عائلي‬ ‫ مشكلوة عائلية تنطوي على إستخدام عنف غالبا‬. drive- by – murder- – Murder perpetrated by means of discharging a firearm from a motor vehicle intentionally at another person outside of the vehicle. When the perpetrator specifically intended to inflict death, the murder is of the first degree. ‫ارتكاب جريمة من سيارة متحركة‬ ‫ جريمة ترتكب عمدا بإطلق أعيرة نارية وتعتبر جريمة من الدرجة الولى إذا كانت النية هي القتل‬. elements of a crime - Specific factors that define a crime which the prosecution must prove beyond a reasonable doubt in order to obtain a conviction. The elements that must be proven are 1) that a crime has actually occurred, 2) that the accused intended the crime to happen, and 3) a timely relationship between the first two factors. ‫عنااصر الجريمة‬ ‫ ان المنهم‬.2 ‫ ز أن الجريمة قد حدثت فعل‬1 ‫ وعلى الدعاء أن يثبتها بصورة ل محل فيها للشك منها‬، ‫عوامل محدد تؤكد الجريمة‬ ‫ عامل الوقت بين العنصرين الوليين‬. 3 . ‫ قد قصد حدوث الجريمة‬. embezzlement - Taking property by a person to whom the property has been entrusted. ‫ارختلس‬ ‫ أرخذ ممتلكات أؤتمن الشخص عليها‬. escape - get away from a holding place . ‫هروب‬ ‫الهروب من مكان الحتجاز‬ escape by force or violence - Using force to escape from custody ‫فرار بالقوة أو العنف‬ ‫فرار المسجون باستخدام القوة أو العنف‬ excessive force - Use of unreasonable amount of force by police officer. ‫قوة مفرطة‬ ‫ مغالة الشرطي في استعمال القوة فتصبح غير معقولة‬. eye witness - One who saw the act, fact, or transaction to which he or she testifies. ‫شاهد عيان‬ ‫ أو حقيقة‬، ‫ عملية‬، ‫ سواء كان فعل‬، ‫ شخص يشهد بما رأى‬. felony - A serious crime that can be punished by more than one year in prison or by death. ‫جناية‬ ‫ جناية رخطيرة عقوبتها إما أن تكون السجن أكثر من سنة أو الموت‬. fine - money that a person pays for breaking a law . ‫غرامة‬ ‫ غرامة يقررها القانون لرتكاب الشخص مخالفة قانونية‬. firearms - weapons that shoot . ‫أسلحة نارية‬ forcible and atrocious crime- Any felony that by its nature and the manner of its commission threatens, or is reasonably believed by the defendant to threaten life or great bodily injury so as to instill in him a reasonable fear of death or great bodily injury. robbery are all forcible and atrocious crimes. ‫جريمة قسرية ووحشية‬ ‫ أو أن المتهم رخلق اعتقاد لدى المجني عليه أنه مهدد أو معرض للموت أو أذى‬، ‫أي جريمة اتسم ارتكابها بطابع وأسلوب التهديد‬ ‫ أو سرقة تحت التهديد أو اغتصاب جنسي أو إعاقة‬، ‫ إن كانت تشويه دائم أو قتل عمد‬: ‫تعتبر الجريمة وحشية‬. ‫ جسيم‬. good faith - An honest belief, the absence of malice, and the absence of design to defraud. ‫اعتقاد اصادق‬ ‫ غياب عنصر المكر والخداع والحتيال‬. Good Samaritan Rule - One who assists a person in imminent and serious danger, though negligence of another cannot be charged with negligence in attempting a rescue. ‫قانون السامري الصالح‬ ‫ لتوجه إليه التهمة في محاولة السعاف‬،‫ من حاول مساعدة شخص في رخطر كبير ووشيك بسبب اهمال شخص آرخر‬. good time- A reduction in sentenced time in custody as a reward for good behavior. It is usually one-third to one-half off the maximum sentence. ‫حسن السلوك‬ ‫ تخفض المدة إلى ثلث أو نصف المدة‬، ‫ تخفيف مدة عقوبة السجن على المتهم لحسن سلوكه‬. gross negligence - A negligent act(s) which is reckless or flagrant and which is such a departure from conduct of an ordinary, prudent person under the same circumstances as to be contrary to a proper regard for human life or to constitute indifference to the consequences of those acts. The facts must be such that the consequences of the negligent act(s) could reasonably have been foreseen and it must appear that the death/danger to human life was not the result of inattention or mistaken judgment, but the natural and probable result of reckless or flagrantly negligent act. imminent peril - Certain, immediate, and impending danger. ‫رخطر وشيك‬ ‫ أكيد ومهدد وفوري‬. Imprisonment - The act of putting or confining a man in prison, or the restraint of a man’s personal liberty. ‫سجن‬ ‫ وضع شخص بالسجن وتقييد حريته‬. Informant - An undisclosed person who confidentially discloses material information of a crime to the police, which is usually done in exchange for a reward or special treatment. ‫مخبر‬ ‫ من يخبر الشرطة سريا بمعلومات عن جريمة عادة مقابل مال أو جائزة أو معاملة رخااصة‬. Informer - somebody who gives information to the police about a crime or about criminals ‫مخبر‬ . ‫شخص يعطي معلومات إلى الشرطة عن جريمة أو مجرمين‬ infraction - A minor violation of a law, contract, or right that is not a misdemeanor or a felony and can’t be punished by time in prison. Minor traffic offenses are generally considered infractions. ‫انتهاك للقانون‬ ‫ مخالفات قوانين السير تقع ضمن هذه الفئة‬. ‫ مخالفة غير رخطيرة للقانون ل تعد جنحة أو جناية وليمكن معاقبة مرتكبها بالسجن‬. infringement of copyright - the act of illegally copying a work without proper permission or the consent of the copyright owner . ‫التعدي على حق المؤلف‬ . ‫نسخ أو اصناعة أو بيع بصورة غير قانونية لعمل ما دون الحصول على إذن مناسب أو موافقة المؤلف اصاحب الحق‬ infringement of patent - the act of illegally using, making or selling an invention which is patented without the permission of the patent holder . ‫التعدي على براءة الرختراع‬ . ‫استخدام غير قانوني او بيع ارختراع حااصل على حق براءة دون الحصول على إذن من اصاحب براءة الرختراع‬ infringing goods - goods which are made in infringement of a copyright or patent . ‫السلع المقلدة‬ 10 ‫مصطلحات الشرطة‬ ‫وحيد فرج‬

‫ تلك السلع التي يعد تصنيعها تعديا على حقوق الملكية أو البراءة‬. innocent - not responsible for the crime . ‫بريء‬ ‫لم يرتكب الجريمة‬ Interpol - an international police organization whereby the member countries co-operate in solving crimes . ‫النتربول‬ . ‫وهي منظمة الشرطة الدولية والتي بموجبها تتعاون الدول العضاء المشاركة في التعامل مع الجرائم‬ intruder - a person who enters a home or business illegally . ‫درخيل‬ ‫ شخص يدرخل منزل أو مكانا بصورة غير قانونية‬. Investigations , A legal inquiry to discover and collect facts concerning a certain matter. ‫ تحريات‬/ ‫تحقيقات‬ ‫ تحريات تجريها السلطات المعنية لجمع معلومات عن القضية بموجب القانون‬. jail (prison)- a place where criminals are confined. ‫السجن‬ ‫ مكان يمضي فيه المجرم عقوبة السجن‬. jail booking report A document containing complete personal information about a suspect, including a photograph, fingerprints, and a list of the suspect's personal property at the time of booking. ‫ملف سجين أو مجرم‬ ‫ملف يحتوي على بيانات شخصية ومعلومات عن المشبوهين يشمل اصورة شخصية عنه وبصمات الاصابع وقائمة بالمحرزات‬ ‫ التي كانت موجودة مع المشتبه به وقت حجزه أو سجنه‬. joyriding - Illegally taking an automobile without intent to deprive the owner permanently of the vehicle, often involving reckless driving. ‫نزهة بالسيارة‬ ‫ سرقة سيارة شخص لفترة مؤقتة بغرض التنزه وعادة ما يكون السائق متهور غير مبال‬. juvenile - A person under 18 years old. ‫حدث‬ ‫ شخص دون الثامنة عشر‬. kidnapping - The taking or detaining of a person against his or her will and without lawful authority. ‫رخطف‬ ‫ أرخذ شخص عنوة وحجزه دون سلطة قانونية‬. ‫هوس السرقة‬ ‫ مرض نفسي يدفع اصاحبة إلى السرقة‬. lineup - A police identification procedure by which the suspect to a crime is exhibited, along with others, before the victim or witness to determine if the victim or witness can identify the suspect as the person who committed the crime. ‫اصف المشبوهين‬ ‫ الشاهد يستطيع‬،‫تحديد الشرطة المشتبه به من رخلل عرضه ضمن مجموعة من المشتبه بهم أمام الضحية أو الشاهد للتأكد من ا‬ ‫ تمييزه والتعرف عليه‬. malicious mischief - Willful destruction of property, from actual ill will or resentment toward its owner or possessor. ‫أذى متعمد‬ ‫ تخريب ممتلكات متعمد بسبب شعور عدائي أو إستياء نحو مالكها أو واضع يده عليها‬. malpractice -Violation of a professional duty to act with reasonable care and in good faith without fraud or collusion. Glossary of Bail Terms ‫مسرد مصطلحات الكفالة‬ admission to bail- A court order in a criminal case allowing the accused to be freed pending trial if the accused posts bail in an amount set by the court. The posting of bail is intended to insure that the defendant will in fact appear in court for all criminal proceedings. If the defendant fails to show up in court the bail is lost. ‫قبول الكفالة‬ ‫أمر من المحكمة يسمح بإطلق سراح متهمين والقصد هو ضمان أن المدعى عليه سوف‬ ‫يمثل أمام المحكمة في جميع الدعاوى الجنائية ضده وإذا تخلف المدعى عليه خسر بكفالة‬. Bail- The money put up to secure the release of a person who has been charged and jailed for a crime. The idea behind bail is that it guarantees the appearance of the defendant in court for further legal proceedings. There is a constitutional right to a fair bail amount. Bail bondsman- A bond agent who specializes in providing bail bonds for people charged with crimes. ‫‪Glossary of Criminal Hearing Terms‬‬ ‫مسرد المحاكمات الجنائية‬ ‫‪arraign- Process where the person who is accused is brought before the court to hear the criminal‬‬ ‫‪charge(s) against him or her and to plead guilty, not guilty or no contest.‬‬ ‫استدعاء شخص للجابة عن اتهام‬ ‫‪.‬عندما يتم توجيه التهام رسميا للمتهم بارتكاب جريمة جنائية فإن المدعى عليه يرد بالقرار بذنبه أو أنه غير مذنب‬ ‫‪indictment- A formal charge by a grand jury saying there is enough evidence that the defendant‬‬ ‫‪committed the crime to justify having a trial. But not saying you are guilty. ‫إقرار‬ (‫)ولكن ليس اعتراف يؤدي إلى إدانة‬ ALIBI- A defense claim that the accused was somewhere else at the time a crime was committed. ‫إثبات التغيب عن المكان‬ ‫ إدعاء الدفاع ان المتهم كان في مكان آرخر وقت الجريمة‬. arraignment-When a person that is accused of committing a crime is taken to court, told about the charges, and asked to plead “guilty” or “not guilty.” ‫توجيه التهام‬ ‫ توجيه التهام رسميا من قبل المحكمة في أولى جلسات المحاكمة‬. circumstantial evidence-All evidence that is indirect. Transferred intent– Doctrine under which original malice is transferred from one against whom it was entertained to person who actually suffers consequence of unlawful act. deposition – Written or oral testimony given under oath in front of an authorized third person like a court reporter. Depositions take place outside of the court. They allow the parties to get a record of a person’s testimony, or to get testimony from a witness that lives far away. May be asked leading questions and may be cross-examined by the party who calls him or her to the stand. ‫شاهد معاد‬ ‫ شاهد غير متعاون مع الدفاع‬. impeachment of witness , To call into question the truthfulness of a witness. ‫طعن في شهادة‬ ‫يشكك في حقيقة شهادة الشهود‬. jurat , A Certificate of officer or person before whom writing was sworn to.
