Prerequisites
If you are upgrading from an older version and you already have a license, you don’t need a new one; just follow the installation instructions on slides 3-9.

Prerequisites
Microsoft .NET 4 is a standard prerequisite for UniSim Design R450/R451, therefore it is included in the suite. If you do not have it installed the following window will pop-up. Click OK to proceed with the installation.

Please read before Installing ... UniSim Excel Interface Tool (USE-IT) and OLI Electrolytes – information for customers upgrading from earlier versions This message contains important information for customers upgrading from earlier versions of UniSim Design who use USE-IT or OLI Electrolytes. Please read and take action before installing.
UniSim Excel Interface Tool (USE-IT) – please uninstall R430 version of USE-IT before installing From version R440 onwards USE-IT cannot coexist with the R430 version of the tool. Before installing USE-IT R450/1 (or R440/2/3) it is essential to uninstall the R430 version using the Windows Control Panel. Please note also: • USE-IT R450/1 will upgrade the R440/2/3 versions of USE-IT automatically. • With this exception UniSim Design Suite R450/1 (or R440/2/3) can coexist with all earlier versions of the UniSim Design Suite. • USE-IT now incorporates the functionality of the UniSim Design Browser, which is no longer available to install separately. OLI Engine – change in licensing arrangements There was a change in the way that the OLI Engine was licensed between UniSim Design Suite R430 and R440. The OLI Engine supplied with UniSim Design R450/1 uses the same licensing arrangements as R440, so a license from OLI Systems, using the OLI licensing mechanism, is required in addition to the license from Honeywell using the ULM licensing mechanism. Honeywell has already contacted all OLI Electrolyte customers individually to explain their available licensing options. Honeywell recommends that any customers still using the OLI Engine supplied with UniSim Design R430 take this opportunity to upgrade. Open the Installer
All the screenshots here show ‘R450’ but the same menu also applies for R451. Insert the UniSim Design Suite DVD
If you do not have a DVD but have instead downloaded a DVD image, double click on Setup.exe in the root folder of the DVD image. If your PC does not have .NET framework 4 installed it will be installed when the setup is first run see slide 3

Choose the Product Family, for example UniSim Design

Choose the Product to install from the list, for example, UniSim Design. Follow the on-screen instruction to complete the installation.

ULM Config Wizard: License Request - 1 After the installation is complete, the ULM Config Wizard will launch if you put a tick in the checkbox.
Click Finish. Note carefully the message regarding the Excel tools. USE-IT in R450/1 must be installed separately from the Optional UniSim Components menu. All functionality of the UniSim Browser is now integrated into USE-IT.
The ULM Config Wizard can also be launched from the Honeywell folder in the Windows Start menu.

In the ULM Config Wizard click on "I have an Order Key".

Enter your Order Key number and press Next.

Select the "Installing a new license" option and press "SEND LICENSE EMAIL"
*Tick the "Lock to dongle" option if you use a dongle.

If the request is sent successfully, you can close the ULM Config Wizard window.

The email request can be seen in the Sent Items folder of Microsoft Outlook.

If the request cannot be sent, instructions are given on how to send it manually.

Installing the License File - 1 Honeywell will send the license file by email as an attachment. Double click on the license file to install it.
*A License Certificate document is attached to the e-mail for your reference.

• If the computer has no network connection, simply copy the *.ULMLicense file to its desktop and double-click on it to install.

License Certificate The License Certificate document contains the most important information about your UniSim license: options, number of users and terms. It has administrative details in it too: the System Name, Order Reference and the End User Agreement.
