Sanketanidhi, which means "The Treasure of Learning", was written in the mid 19th century and is most recent of acknowledged Shastras. It is a brief but useful classic. It is a work written by Shri Rama Dayalu, astrologer, for the benefit of Shri Ghasi Ram Sharma, son of his elder brother, so that he may become proficient in astrology. It is in 9 "Sanketas" or Chapters.

Sloka 1. It is prayed that the exalted union of Sri Lakshmi and Sripati Vishnu, which is brightened by love for the purpose of great prosperity of the Universe may bestow unlimited good to people who are attached to the ancient tradition.
Sloka 2. Shri Rama Dayalu has written this work for the benefit of his brother's son and to enable him to learn and be proficient in various facets of astrology, namely Prasna, Janma, Varshaphal, Adhana, and for good of the world. The treatise is based on principles and ideas propounded by the learned men in the past.
Sloka 3. One who knows astrology should carefully work out his calculations according to the principles laid down by Aryabhatt to arrive at exact number of Ghatikas elapsed since last sunrise at any given time, the total period of any required day should be subtracted from maximum length of the day in the year. The figure so arrived at be multiplied by 7 and the product divided by 5. The quotient will be the length of the shadow (cast by a 12 inch stick) at midday of the locality.
Sloka 4. On the given day the length of shadow indicated by 12 inch stick is known as Ishtema. 10 may be added to it and then from the figure so arrived at, we may subtract the total length of the shadow at noon on the day. The remainder will be the divisor required. The figure to be divided by this divisor will be arrived at by multiplying length of the required day by 5. After such a division the quotient will represent the number of Ghaties that have elapsed since last sunrise or to elapse for the next sunset.
Sloka 5. Take the difference between the maximum duration of the day for the locality and the length of the day in question and subtract from this 1/16th part. 1/8th of the figure arrived at may then be subtracted from 1. To the result may be added 1/12th of the length of the shadow at the given time. This will be the divisor. Then we may divide 1/2 the length of particular day by this divisor. The quotient will indicate number of Ghaties that have elapsed since last sunrise or to elapse till the next sunset, as the case may be.
Sloka 6. The time between one sunrise and the next sunrise (which is supposed to be near about 60 Ghaties) consists of 21,600 breaths or Pranas. One Ghati is made of 360 breaths. The time taken to pronounce 10 long syllables is one Prana, and 6 Pranas make one Vinadee or Vighati. 60 Vighaties or Palas make one Ghati.
Sloka 7. To enable us to know exact number of Ghaties etc. that have elapsed at any required time at night, the following method should be followed: (1) count the star that is 7th from the star occupied by Sun; (2) count the star that is rising in East, and (3) count the star that is exactly over your head. Then subtract 1 from (1), 15 from (2) and 8 from (3). Then we may multiply 3 figures arrived at in the manner indicated above, separately by the number of Ghaties representing 1/2 of duration of the given night and divide the results by 7. Number so becoming available in each case will be the same in each case and will be the Ghaties etc. required.
Sloka 8. There is another method of ascertaining the same information as mentioned in previous Sloka. From longitude (Rasi, degrees, minutes etc.) of the star just over your head, subtract longitude of Surya. The « Sanketanidhi by Rama Deyalu

result should be converted into degrees. If that exceeds 90, subtract 90. The remainder may then be divided by 6. The method of calculating this is also given in author's work named Khet Prakash.
Sloka 9. If we calculate exact number of degrees still to lapse in Lagna and also degrees of Chandr in Rasi occupied by Chandr and add 240 to the sum of these 2, we will get number of days falling between Adhana and Janma.
Sloka 10. If longitude of Chandr (Chandra Spast) at Adhana be the same as of Lagna at birth, or if longitude of Chandr at birth be the same as longitude of Adhana Lagna, we may accept the time of birth as correct. If there is any difference, exact time of birth could be rectified by suitable adjustments by the "rule of three" method in the intervening days.
Sloka 11. Author gives another method for rectifying the time of birth. If there are Grahas on both sides (2nd and 12th) of a Bhava, be it a Kendra, Panaphara or Apoklima, we may calculate difference between longitude of these 2 Grahas and (a) subtract 1/2 of the difference from longitude of Graha in 2nd Bhava, and (b) add the difference to longitude of Graha in 12th Bhava. By doing so longitudes of Grahas in 2nd and 12th Bhava will become identical.
Sloka 12. When longitudes of 2 Bhavas mentioned in Sloka 11 be equal, the time of birth should be located there alone. If there is difference in longitudes (Bhava Spast) suitable alterations may be made by the rule of three process to fix correct time of birth.
Sloka 13. Another method to correct Ishtkala at birth is as under: Note Parva Tithi, i.e. Amavasya or Poornamasi just previous to the birth and work out Lagna, Amsa etc. at the end of Parva Tithi. Then we should make note of the following Grahas: (1) Lord of Lagna at birth, (2) Lord of Lagna at the end of Parva Tithi, (3) Graha presiding over that part of the day or night, (4) Lord of Hora (hour) at which Parva Tithi ended, and (5) Lord of Rasi occupied by (a) Surya at a day birth or (b) Chandr at a night birth. Leaving off Rasis occupied by the strongest of these 5, if Ansa of the strongest Graha be the same as that of Lagna Navamsa, or with that of 10th, that will be correct time required.
Sloka 14. Effects of various Bhavas and Grahas in a birth chart can be assessed properly only after working out longitudes of Lagna, other Bhavas and their Sandhis, and of Grahas. The true positions (longitudes) of Grahas can be easily calculated with the help of an almanac of the concerned period.
Sloka 15. - 16. Ishtkala of Grahas as shown in almanac is known as Mishra Mana. If Mishra Mana (weekday, Ghaties, Pala) is in advance of Ishtakala of birth (weekday, Ghaties, Pala), then such weekday Ghaties, Pala, may be deducted from the former. The remainder would be subtractive. If Ishtkala of birth is in advance of Mishra Mana, its weekday, Ghaties, Pala etc. may be deducted from the weekday, Ghaties etc. of the former. The remainder would be additive. The remainder in days, Ghaties etc. may be reduced to Palas and multiplied by the rate (in minutes) of motion given for Grahas in question and divided by 3600 [360° ?]. The quotient would be additive in case Graha position relates to a period prior to the required time, and subtractive when the said period is subsequent to the one under consideration.

Sloka 17. If a Graha is in retrograde motion, the process outlined in previous Sloka should be reversed in order to work out its position. In the case of Mandi its position on the several weeks from Sunday will be worked out by a process of subtraction of 4 Ghaties from each day (and finding Lagna at the time), thus Sunday 26, Monday 22, Tuesday 18 and so on.
Sloka 18. Find out Sayan longitude of Surya as counted from equinoctial point, Aries 0°, by adding Ayanamsa to its Nirayan longitude. Then note in which Rasi is it posited. Take the portion of that Rasi still to be traversed by Surya. Also find out the time of traversing it. Subtract it from the time of epoch. Note the number of Rasis passed in full from sunrise till then by deducting one by one the time taken by different Rasis to rise above the horizon (here author presupposes that astrologer has at hand Table of Houses and the rising time of different Lagnas for that place and that day). Ultimately astrologer arrives at a rough (Ashuddha) Rasi which cannot be further subtracted. Note the remainder, using rule of three, i.e. multiplying this time by 30 Palas and dividing by the rising period of that Rasi in Palas, Bhukha or the elapsed portion of that Rasi can be ascertained in degrees and minutes. Add to this the preceding Rasis reckoned from equinoctial point, i.e. Aries 0° and subtract Ayanamsa from Surya. The remainder is Nirayan longitude of Lagna.
Sloka 19. This Sloka gives the process by which Lagna is to be calculated for birth at night. We first note the actual time that has elapsed since last sunrise. Dinmana or the length of the day is then subtracted from total time that has elapsed since last sunrise. If we add 6 Rasis to the position of Surya at last sunrise, we will get position of Surya at sunset before birth. This is to be shown in degrees etc. The interval, the portion that has elapsed since sunset and the birth time in Ghaties etc. should be converted into distance by a process similar to the one mentioned in previous Sloka but in a reverse manner.
Sloka 20. In order to find out exact position of 10th Bhava (Dasham Lagna) it is necessary to explain what Nata is. It is to be calculated after knowing exact time of birth. According to some learned, Nata is of 4 varieties, while others say that there are 2 kinds of Nata and 2 kinds of Unnata.
Sloka 21. According to astronomers, Unnata is measured from the nadir while Nata from midheaven. They both represent interval between Graha concerned (here in this case Surya) and meridian. Astronomers are also of the opinion that Unnata is also of 4 varieties.
Sloka 22. According to the opinion of these, if the birth takes place at night, 6 Rasis are added to Sayan of Surya (Sayan longitude). If the birth takes place at day, no such addition is called for. Nata (whichever of 4 varieties it may happen to be) should be converted into degrees, minutes etc., by the same process which is adopted for working out Lagna, but with this difference that the rates of several rising periods should be those obtaining at Equator, by the process of addition or subtraction as the case may be in order to calculate correct position (of midpoint or midheaven). But Kesava and others have expressed the view that 10th Bhava should be calculated from Nata.
Sloka 23. According to one school of thought, longitude of 10th Bhava should be calculated as follows: if it is day birth we should note where longitude of the place cuts zodiac into 2 visible halves of about 3 Rasis each, one in East and other in West, and this intersecting is the midpoint or centre of 10th Bhava, and may be calculated from Nata or meridian distance of Surya at the time - East or West. According to the other view, Surya has to be fixed in other half of zodiac by the addition of 6 more Rasis and the position of « Sanketanidhi by Rama Deyalu

«
Nadir (or Bhava Madhya of 4th Bhava) should be calculated through Nata (and Unnata) or meridian distance between this point and this new (imaginary) Surya.
Sloka 24. There is yet another method of working out Bhava Madhya of 10th Bhava. The time intervening between exact position of Surya at birth and midnight in Ghaties should be noted. Midnight should be taken as Ishta Kala and its exact position in Ghaties should be converted into degrees at rates (of rising periods of several Rasis) obtaining at Equator, the result with exact position of 4th Bhava. By adding 6 Rasis to this we will get the position of 10th Bhava.
Sloka 25. After having calculated position of Lagna and 10th Bhava, we may proceed to find out positions of other Bhavas. If we add 6 Rasis to longitude of 10th Bhava we will get longitude of 4th Bhava. Similarly by adding 6 Rasis to Lagna we will get longitude of 7th Bhava. If we deduct longitude of Lagna from that of 4th Bhava and divide it by 3, this 1/3 portion when added to longitude of Lagna, will get us longitude of 2nd Bhava. In the same manner deduct longitude of 4th Bhava from that of 7th Bhava and add 3rd [1/3rd ?] of the difference to longitude of 4th Bhava. The result will be longitude of 5th Bhava.
Sloka 26. Again if 1/3 of first and second remainders is respectively added to longitude of 2nd and 5th Bhava, we will get longitudes of 3rd and 6th Bhava. Thus, it has been shown how position (longitudes or Bhavas past) of first 6 Bhavas has to be calculated. A half of 2 adjacent Bhavas is called their Sandhi. Longitudes (Bhavas past) of other 6 Bhavas and their Sandhis may be obtained by the addition of 6 Rasis to each of several Bhavas and Sandhies already obtained.
Sloka 27. We should multiply Nata Ghaties, Pala etc., to obtain linear distance between Surya and midpoint in degrees etc. For calculating position of midheaven (10th Bhava), above distance in degrees may be deducted from longitude of Surya when Nata is Eastern and add the same when Nata is in West. However, author considers this method as approximate. Just as in the case of Surya, we may find out distance in degrees etc. between position of Sayana Lagna and midnight point (4th Bhava). By suitable addition, Sandhi next to Lagna, 2nd Bhava, its next Sandhi, 3rd Bhava etc., can be obtained.
Sloka 28. The difference (in degrees) between a Graha and its nearest Sandhi multiplied by 20 and divided by distance (in degrees) between longitude of Bhava and of its Sandhi represent the measure of effect (caused by Graha) in terms of unit of 1/20th portion. Mangal, Sukr, Budh, Chandr, Surya, Budh, Sukr, Mangal, Guru, Sani, Sani and Guru are respectively Lords of Rasis from Mesha onwards and also of their Amsas.
Sloka 29. First Navamsa in several Rasis from Mesha onwards begins respectively from Mesha, Karkataka, Thula and Makara. Exaltation Rasis of various Grahas are as under: Surya - Mesha Chandr - Vrishabha Mangal - Makara Budh - Kanya Guru - Karkataka Sukr - Meena Sani - Thula. The highest exaltation points are: Surya - Mesha 10° Chandr - Vrishabha 3° Mangal - Makara 28° Budh - Kanya 15° Guru Karkataka 5° Sukr - Meena 27° Sani - Thula 20°. Debilitation points are: Surya - Thula (lowest debilitation point 10°) Chandr - Vrischika (lowest debilitation point 3°) Mangal - Karkataka (lowest debilitation point 28°) Budh - Meena (lowest debilitation point 15°) Guru - Makara (lowest debilitation point 5°) Sukr - Kanya (lowest debilitation point 27°) Sani Mesha (lowest debilitation point 20°). « Sanketanidhi by Rama Deyalu

Sloka 30. Rahu's exaltation Rasi is Mithuna, and Kanya is his own Bhava (or Swakshetra). Exaltation Rasi of Ketu is Dhanur and Meena is his Swakshetra (own Bhava). But according to some Vrischika is exaltation Rasi of Rahu and Kumbha that of Ketu. In an even Rasi, Horas or halves belong respectively to Chandr and Surya, and in an odd Rasi to Surya and Chandr.
Sloka 31. 1/3 of a Rasi is called Drekkana. Each Drekkana is made of 10°. The Lord of first Drekkana is the owner of Rasi itself, 2nd Drekkana belongs to the owner of 5th Rasi and third Drekkana belongs to the owner of 9th Rasi. A Dwadasamsa (or 1/12th of a Rasi) is made of 2 1/2° and is counted from Rasi itself, i.e. from Mesha to Meena and from Vrishabha to Mesha and so on, and Lords of these Rasis own Dwadasamsa. Trimsamsa (1/30th portion of a Rasi) allotted in an odd Rasi to Mangal, Guru, Budh and Sukr are respectively 5, 5, 8, 7 and 5°.
Sloka 32. In an even Rasi Sukr, Budh, Guru, Sani and Mangal have 5, 7, 8, 5 and 5°, respectively. Thus 6 Vargas have been described. Friends of several Grahas from Surya onwards are respectively (1) Guru, (2) Guru & Budh, (3) Budh & Sukr, (4) Chandr, Mangal, Guru, Sukr & Sani, (5) Surya, Chandr, Budh, Sukr & Sani, (6) Mangal, Budh, Guru & Sani, and (7) Budh, Guru & Sukr. The rest are enemies.
Sloka 33. - 35. Sani and Sukr are enemies of Surya. Budh is neutral to him and Chandr, Mangal and Guru are his friends. This is their natural relationship. Budh and Surya are friends of Chandr. Other Grahas are neutrals. Surya, Chandr and Guru are friends of Mangal. Budh is his enemy and Sukr and Sani are neutrals. Surya and Sukr are friends of Budh. Chandr is his enemy and the rest are neutrals. Surya, Chandr and Mangal are friends of Guru. Budh and Sukr are his enemies and Sani is neutral to him. Budh and Sani are friends of Sukr. Mangal and Guru are neutral to him and Surya and Chandr are his enemies. Budh and Sukr are friends of Sani. Guru is neutral to him and Surya, Chandr and Mangal are his enemies. Natural relationship described above is in accordance with the view expressed by Satyacharya.
Sloka 36. Grahas posited or Grahas in 3 adjacent Bhavas of Graha are his temporary friends, or friends for the time being.
Sloka 37. There are 8 conditions of a Graha as described below: (1) When a Graha is in his Rasi of exaltation he is said to Deepta. (2) When a Graha is in his own Rasi he is said to be Swastha or in healthy condition. (3) He is said to be Hrishtha or in happy condition when he is in Rasi of a friend. (4) When a Graha is in benefic Varga he is to be in Shatru condition. (5) When a Graha has got bright rays, he is said to be in Shakta condition. (6) When a Graha is eclipsed during the proximity with Surya, he is said to be in Vilupta condition. (7) A Graha is Deena or in poor condition when he is posited in his Rasi of debilitation. (8) A Graha is Peedita or troubled condition when he has been defeated in planetary war or he is posited between malefics.
Sloka 38. Results of various conditions of Grahas will be in accordance with those conditions and their relative intensity being dependent on their strength etc. In an odd Rasi Graha is said to be in infancy when he has advanced first 6°; he would be in his boyhood when he is in 6 - 12°; he would be young if he is in 13 - 18°; « Sanketanidhi by Rama Deyalu

he would be in old age if he is in 19 - 24°; he would be Nasta when he is between 25 - 30°. In an even Rasi, these divisions are counted in reverse order.
Sloka 39. Second half of Dhanur, forepart of Makara, Mesha, Vrishabha and Simha are called quadruped Rasis. Karkataka, Meena and 2nd portion of Makara are watery Rasis. Rasi Vrischika is like a scorpion. Kanya, Thula, Mithuna and Kumbha are bipeds.
Sloka 40. Mesha, Vrishabha, Mithuna, Karkataka, Makara and Dhanur are strong at night. These Rasis excluding Mithuna rise with their back. Remaining Rasis, excluding Meena, rise with their faces. Meena is called an Ubhayodaya Rasi.
Sloka 41. 180° portion or 1/2 of zodiac beginning from Lagna, that is, still to rise till the end of 7th Bhava, is invisible half. Remaining 180° is visible half. Eastern portion of zodiac comprises 180° from 10th Bhava to 4th Bhava (nadir). Western half of 180° begins from nadir (4th Bhava) and ends at midheaven, that is, 10th Bhava.
Sloka 42. Thus ends Sanketa on definitions in Sanketanidhi, a work composed by Shri Rama Dayalu, astrologer, for the benefit of his elder brother's son Shri Ghasi Ram. End of 1st Sanketa.
Sloka 1. If in chart prepared at the time of conception or query, and also Navamsa chart Lagna, Guru, Chandr and Surya are posited in odd Rasis, birth of a male child should be predicted. If in even Rasis, birth of a female issue is to be predicted.
Sloka 2. 5th or 7th Rasi from position of Chandr in query chart or chart prepared for the time of conception, would be Janma Rasi (Rasi occupied by Chandr) in birth chart. 5th or 7th Rasi from Navamsa of query Lagna or conception Lagna could also be Janma Rasi in birth chart. Actually delivery is likely to take place when Chandr in transit passes through Navamsa owned by Adhana (conception) or Prasna (query) Lagna, whichever is stronger, or when Chandr transits Rasi owned by strongest of Grahas owning Saptamsa, Navamsa, Dvadasamsa and Trimsamsa occupied by Chandr.
Sloka 3. When Surya is posited in quadruped Rasi in conception or query chart and remaining Grahas are strongly placed in dual Rasis, birth of twins would take place. If malefics be not aspected by benefics, or be at the junction of 2 Rasis or in even Rasis and be associated with Chandr, child born would be stupid.
Sloka 4. If malefics be posited at junction of Rasis and Chandr be in Vrishabha (exaltation Rasi of Chandr) aspected by a malefic, native would be dumb or mute. If Chandr and Surya be in Simha and be aspected by malefics, native born would be sightless or blind.
Sloka 5. If malefics be posited in malefic Rasis (i.e. Rasis owned by malefic Grahas) which are 5th, 7th or 9th from Surya, father of native at the time of birth would be under restraint (may be in prison). If Surya be « Sanketanidhi by Rama Deyalu

in a moveable Rasi, such restraint would be in a foreign country, if in a fixed Rasi, in home country, and if in a dual Rasi, restraint would be at a place falling on the way to homeland. Direction of the place would be in accordance with Rasi occupied by Surya. If Chandr be posited in last portion or en-point of a Rasi and Lagna not aspected by Chandr, birth of child would take place during absence of father from the place of birth.
Sloka 6. If Chandr does not aspect Lagna, be posited between Budh and Sukr, Sani be in Lagna and Mangal in 7th, father would be away at the time of birth. [… taken place soon after his birth.] If Surya and Sukr aspected by Mangal be posited in 6th, 8th or 12th Bhava, father of child would not be alive at the time of his birth.
Sloka 7. It should be predicted that father of child had died before his birth, if Surya and Sukr be in a moveable Rasi and be associated with or aspected by Mangal. If there be malefics in 12th and 2nd Bhava from Lagna and Lord of Lagna being weak, be in 9th or 4th Bhava, it can be said that father of native was very sick at the time of native's birth.
Sloka 8. If birth takes place at night and Sani associated with a malefic, be in 5th or 9th Bhava from Chandr, mother of native would die at the time of his birth. If birth takes place during day time and Mangal be in trine to Sukr, mother would die at the time of birth of native. If in case of night birth, Mangal be associated with Sani in a moveable Rasi, it is to be understood that the death of father had already occurred in a place away from the place of birth.
Sloka 9. The same would happen, if Sani and Mangal be conjoined with Surya in a moveable Rasi. If malefics occupy Lagna, 7th, 8th and 12th, it should be understood that the death of mother of native had taken place soon after his birth. If 7th, 8th and 9th Bhava from Lagna be occupied by malefics, it should be predicted that both mother and child would die soon after birth of the latter. If all malefics occupy 6th and 12th Bhava from Lagna and Chandr, mother would survive but child would die soon after birth. If malefics occupy Lagna, Chandr Rasi, 7th and 8th Bhava from Lagna or Chandr, child born would survive but mother would die soon after his birth.
Sloka 10. The number of female attendants in delivery room would be equal to the number of Grahas posited between Lagna and Chandr. The number of female attendants outside delivery room would be equal to the number of Grahas on the left side of Lagna (visible half) and the number of such persons inside delivery room would be equal to Grahas posited on the right side of Lagna (invisible half). If these Grahas be benefics, the lady attendants would be of superior class. They would belong to low class if such Grahas be malefics. The left or visible half begins from the portion of 7th Bhava still to set and extends to rising portion of 1st Bhava; other half of zodiac is called "invisible".
Sloka 11. In this Sloka some more clues have been given to find out the number of female attendants. If in visible half referred to in previous Sloka there be any retrograde Graha or Grahas in their Rasis of exaltation, the number of attendants would be thrice the number of such Grahas. If Grahas be in their own Rasi, Navamsa Drekkana etc., the number of attendants would be twice the number of such Grahas. If there be Grahas which are combust, or in their Rasi of debilitation or in inimical Rasis or Trik Bhavas (6th, 8th or 12th), the number of attendants would be 1/2 of the number of such Grahas. If Lagna is Mesha or Meena, the number of attendants would be 2. In the case of Makara, Thula, Vrischika, Simha, Kanya or

Mithuna Lagna, the number of attendants would be 3. In Vrishabha or Kumbha Lagna, the number of attendants would be 4. In case of Karkataka or Dhanur Lagna, the number of attendants would be 5.
Sloka 12. In this Sloka author tells that direction of delivery room should be determined by Rasi of Lagna at birth. If rising Rasi or Lagna be Mesha, Karkataka, Thula, Vrischika or Kumbha, delivery room would be in Eastern portion of house. If Lagna be Simha or Makara, the room would be to Southern side of house, If Lagna be Vrishabha, the room would be in Western portion of house. If Lagna be owned by Budh or Guru, delivery room would be to Northern side of house. 4 pairs of moveable and fixed Rasis beginning with Mesha represent East and other principal directions in which the bed of the lady concerned is placed in the room. 4 dual Rasis Mithuna, Kanya, Dhanur and Meena, signify 4 intermediate points, namely, SE, SW, NW and NE. Or direction may correspond to that denoted by Rasi occupied by Rahu.
Sloka 13. When Lagna is Mithuna, Makara, Vrishabha or Simha, child would cry loudly after birth. His cries would be of subdued nature when Lagna be Kanya or Kumbha. There would be no cries at all if Lagna falls in other Rasis. Birth would take place on an bare ground if Lagna falls in any of the following Rasis viz. Mithuna, Vrishabha, Makara, Kumbha, Vrischika or Mesha.
Sloka 14. 2 front legs of the cot in delivery room are represented by 3rd and 12th Bhava. 3rd represents right leg and 12th left leg. The hind legs are represented by 6th and 9th Bhava - 6th representing right and 9th left leg. 4th and 5th Bhava represent right side of the central portion of the cot and 10th and 11th Bhava left side. The portions of the cot would be defective if there be malefics in Bhava representing them.
Sloka 15. Grahas posited in Kendras according to their strength indicate the door of delivery room. When there be more then one Graha in Kendras, the door should be found by the strongest amongst them. If there be no Graha, position of the door is to be ascertained by Rasi occupied by Lagna. The head and other parts of the cot would be in the direction indicated by Lagna. The strongest Graha aspecting Lagna would indicate the clothes, worn, food taken etc.
Sloka 16. This Sloka deals with particulars of the lamp in delivery room. Chandr determines the oil in lamp, Surya indicates whether lamp is of a moveable nature or fixed one. Lagna tells us about the wick in lamp. Lamp would be moveable if Surya occupies a moveable Rasi. Lamp would be of fixed type if Surya occupies a fixed Rasi. Rasi occupied by Surya would also indicate the position of lamp on or near the cot.
Sloka 17. If Surya be posited in a dual Rasi, lamp would be placed at position indicated by Rasi and it would be flickering. Chandr's Drekkana 1st, 2nd or 3rd, or Chandr's fullness or otherwise, would indicate the quantity of oil in the lamp. We can also ascertain portion of the wick that has been burnt from the condition of Chandr mentioned above.
Sloka 18. - 19. If Chandr be in Lagna, 6th or 8th Bhava, lamp would be without oil at the time of birth. If Chandr be in 2nd Bhava or Sani be in 10th Bhava, lamp would contain oil. From Surya is ascertained the position of lamp. If Surya be between Lagna and Chandr, lamp would contain ghee. It would contain oil if there be Sani between Lagna and Chandr.
Sloka 20. - 21. There would be a number of lamps in delivery room at the time of birth if a strong Surya be aspected by Sani and Mangal. If above disposition be not present and instead, there be a strong Graha in 12th « Sanketanidhi by Rama Deyalu

Bhava, there would be light from hay fire. The structure of the building containing delivery room would be flimsy and made mostly of wood if Surya be strong in chart. Delivery room would be: (a) a new one if Chandr be strong, (b) attractive and pleasant if Sukr be strong, (c) very beautiful and artistic and decorated with pictures, if Budh be strong, (d) a burnt one if Mangal be strong, (e) old and renovated if Sani be strong, (f) strong and durable if Guru be strong, by being in its own Rasi on Navamsa, (g) double storied or with 2 halls if Guru lie in a dual Rasi, (h) three storied or with 3 halls if Guru be posited in Dhanur, (i) many storied if Guru be at his highest exaltation point in Karkataka.
Sloka 22. Which metal would be in prominence may be ascertained from the strength of Surya etc. Copper, Chandrakanta Mani (moonstone), gold, alloy of metals, silver, pearls, iron would be in prominence if Surya, Chandr, Mangal, Budh, Guru and Sukr are respectively strong in chart (birth or query chart). If Surya or Chandr be strong, child would possess the nature and qualities of his father and mother respectively. If Surya be strong at birth, qualities of child born would be in accordance with Graha in whose Trimsamsa Surya be posited.
Sloka 23. Native's appearance would correspond to Lord of rising Navamsa, or it would be according to Graha which is most powerful at birth. His complexion would be in accordance with Lord of Navamsa, occupied by Chandr.
Sloka 24. If Mangal and Sani be posited in Lagna of a person, there would be abortion or miscarriage to his wife. If native of chart be a female, she would herself suffer from abortion. Abortion would also take place if Chandr aspects or is associated with above 2 Grahas.
Sloka 25. Grahas which are significators for father and mother during day birth or night birth give full effect, if birth occurs at the beginning of the day or night as the case may be. Effect would be moderate if birth takes place in the middle portion while it would be very light if birth takes place at the close of the day or night. This rule applies in effects good or bad produced by 2 pairs of significator Grahas as well.
Sloka 26. Various parts of the human body are represented by 36 Drekkanas into which zodiac is divided. If any particular Drekkana be occupied by a benefic Graha, there would be a mole in corresponding part of the body. If any Drekkana is occupied by a malefic, there would be an ulcer or wound is corresponding part of the body. If 4 Grahas, including Budh, be posited in any part or Drekkana of Kalapurusha, there would be a mole or alike in that part. Similar result would accrue if a Rasi or Bhava be occupied by Surya Chandr, jointly.
Sloka 27. - 28. A proficient astrologer should find out all about one's body from Lagna. All about wealth and happiness should be examined from Hora Lagna. Happiness etc. of relations should be ascertained from Drekkana Lagna, children from Saptamsa Lagna, wife's happiness etc. from Navamsa Lagna, about the parents from Dwadasamsa Lagna, about one's cherished desires from Trimsamsa Lagna. All these details may be also be ascertained from natal Lagna.
Sloka 29. Matters relating to native's father should be ascertained from 9th and 10th Bhava from Surya, those relating to mother from 4th Bhava from Chandr, those relating to brothers from 3rd Bhava from Mangal, those relating to maternal uncle and his children from 4th Bhava reckoned from Budh and those relating to children from 5th Bhava from Guru. « Sanketanidhi by Rama Deyalu

Sloka 30. Matters relating to one's wife may be ascertained from 7th Bhava reckoned from Sukr and information regarding perpetuation or extraction of one's family may be obtained by examining 8th Bhava from Sani. It is very necessary that in all above cases, conclusions be arrived at after carefully taking into account the strength of particular Bhava, of Graha from which it is reckoned and of Graha owning Bhava in question. Only after such examination and after having full devotion to God, astrologer should make predictions about prosperity or otherwise of particular relation.
Sloka 31. Thus comes to close 2nd Sanketa entitled Prasuti (birth) of Sanketanidhi, a work authored by Rama Dayalu, astrologer, for the benefit of Shri Ghasi Ram, son of his eldest brother, Shri Vazir Chandra Sharma, so that he gains proficiency in astrology. End of 2nd Sanketa.
Sloka 1. Child would die immediately after birth if birth takes place at twilight, an hour before or after sunset and malefics be posited in the last portions of Rasis. If Chandr be posited in a Kendra and other 3 Kendras be occupied by malefics, child would die immediately after birth. The same would happen if there be malefics in 1st and 7th Bhava, or these Bhavas be hemmed in-between malefics.
Sloka 2. Child would die soon after birth if there be a malefic each in Lagna and 7th Bhava and Chandr be also associated with a malefic Graha without receiving any benefic aspect.
Sloka 3. If Chandr be placed in 6th or 8th Bhava and Rahu is 4th, child would die immediately after birth. The remedial measure would be to worship Lord. If there be a malefic Graha in a Kendra neutralizing above adverse effect, even then, the death would take place within a year. If Mangal be posited in Guru's Rasi and Guru be in Rasi of Mangal, death would take place within 11 years.
Sloka 4. If Chandr associated with a malefic be posited in 1st, 7th, 8th or 12th Bhava without receiving the aspect of a benefic Graha placed in a Bhava other than a Kendra, child would die soon after birth. When birth takes place during day in dark half of a month, Chandr even if placed in 6th or 8th Bhava and aspected by malefics, would not kill the child. When birth takes place at night during bright half of a month, Chandr in the same position and aspected by benefics would protect the child.
Sloka 5. Newborn child would die soon if: (a) Surya and Chandr be in Lagna and be not associated with or aspected by benefics, (b) if strong malefics occupy 5th, 8th and 9th Bhava, (c) if Sani, Surya, Chandr and Mangal occupy respectively 12th, 9th, 1st and 8th Bhava. Child would be saved if these combinations be aspected by a strong Guru (our view is that in this disposition of Grahas, a strong Guru placed in 5th, 7th or 9th Bhava could save child from death), and (d) if Chandr be badly placed (this could mean placement in Rasi of debilitation or an inimical Rasi or if it be a new Chandr), in 5th, [9th], 8th, 7th, 12th or 1st Bhava and be devoid of benefic aspect.
Sloka 6. Newly born child would die soon after birth if Chandr be placed in 6th or 8th Bhava and aspected by malefic Grahas. If, however, Chandr gets benefit of benefic aspect, child would remain alive upto 8 years. « Sanketanidhi by Rama Deyalu

If Chandr in such position be aspected both by benefic and malefic Grahas, child would live upto 4 years. Child would live for 1 year if a malefic Graha in an enemy Rasi occupies 8th Bhava aspected by a malefic. If malefic aspects Surya placed in a Kendra, child would live for 10 or 16 years.
Sloka 7. If Surya and Chandr be associated with Sani, child would live upto 9 years. Longevity would be of 1 month if all malefics be placed in 6th and 8th. Child would die in 4th year, if Budh be placed in Karkataka in 6th or 8th Bhava and be aspected by a malefic Chandr. If Surya, Sukr and Sani be all associated with malefics, the death of child will take place soon after his birth.
Sloka 8. Child would die soon after birth if Surya be posited in Rasi of Mangal or Sani and Guru placed in 10th be aspected by malefics. Child and mother would die if malefics posited in 7th and 8th be aspected by malefics and get no benefic aspect.
Sloka 9. - 10. If Lord of Rasi occupied by Chandr be posited in 8th Bhava in conjunction with Lord of Lagna aspected by malefics, child would die in 4 months. If Lord of Rasi occupied by Chandr be in 7th Bhava conjoined by a malefic and Lord of Lagna receives malefic aspects, child would die within 8 months. If Guru placed in 8th Bhava be aspected by all malefics, without receiving any benefic aspect, he would be in a position of inflicting harm to child. In other words, child would have very poor longevity. If Guru posited thus be in Rasi of Mangal, evil would be still more severe. If retrograde Sani be in a Kendra or 8th or 6th Bhava owned by Mangal, child would in all probabilities die in 3 years.
Sloka 11. - 12. Following dispositions of Graha are not favorable for longevity of newly born infants: (1) Sani occupying 8th Bhava from Lagna, (2) Surya in his Rasi of debilitation being posited in 5th or 9th Bhava, (3) Mangal in 8th or Budh aspected by a strong malefic in 6th or 8th Bhava cause death within 4 years, (4) Budh in Rasi of Chandr, i.e. Karkataka, and posited in 6th or 8th Bhava aspected by Chandr, also causes death within 4 years, (5) Sukr posited in Karkataka or Simha aspected by benefics from 6th , 8th or 12th Bhava and also aspected by strong malefics allows child to survive for 6 years. But when Ketu be rising in Lagna child would die immediately after birth.
Sloka 13. If a Pasha or Pakshi Drekkana be rising and be occupied by malefic, child would die in 7th year. If malefics occupy Trikona Bhava and be not aspected by benefics, and benefics be all posited in 6th and 8th Bhava (and they be further aspected by malefics), child would die in 8th year.
Sloka 14. If there be a malefic in Lagna or 7th Bhava, Lord of Lagna be aspected by or associated with a malefic and Chandr be in Lagna, child would live for 7 years.
Sloka 15. If Lord of Rasi occupied by Chandr and Lord of Lagna together be posited in 6th, 8th, 12th or 7th Bhava, longevity of child in years would be equal to the number of Rasi occupied by Chandr. If Chandr be in Mithuna or Kanya and be associated with Surya and Mangal without aspect of benefics, longevity of child would be 9 years.
Sloka 16. If in a horoscope Mangal be in its Rasi of debilitation or be posited in 8th and Surya in its debilitation Rasi be posited in a Trikona, native would be stupid and unhappy and would live on alms.

Sloka 17. Grahas placed in last degree of Rasis contribute very little to longevity of native. But if a Graha be in his exaltation Rasi, own Rasi or a friendly Rasi, he would contribute a good number of years to his longevity.
Sloka 18. If Lagna be Mesha or Vrischika and Sani be associated with a malefic in Simha, the arms of native would be amputated. If Sani be in 6th Bhava aspected by inimical Grahas, native would lose his hands as well as feet.
Sloka 19. The learned say that if Chandr conjoined with 3 malefics be in 6th Bhava and be aspected by malefics without receiving any benefic aspect, native would injure his eyes. If Mangal, Rahu and Sani be in 8th Bhava native would lose his nose. If Chandr and Sani being in Karkataka be placed in 8th Bhava without aspect of a benefic, native would injure his feet.
Sloka 20. If a malefic Graha be in Rasi of another malefic Graha, and aspected by Rahu and Sani as malefics, Chandr in conjunction with a malefic be aspected by Surya, Mangal and Sani, native born with such dispositions would kill barren cows and Brahmins (priestly class). If there be 3 or more malefics in a Rasi, native born with such dispositions would remain sickly. In such a combination Surya should be treated as a malefic only when it is not in conjunction with Sukr.
Sloka 21. If Rahu be in his own Rasi Kanya and Mangal, Budh and Sukr together be placed in 10th Bhava, the fortune and ill luck would only be momentary for native (they would not be long-lasting). If there be malefics in 2nd, 3rd and 7th Bhava and a weak Guru be posited in 5th Bhava, native would be a man of objectionable character.
Sloka 22. If there be malefics in 4th, 12th and 10th Bhava, native would leave his place of birth and roam about from place to place, becoming a cause of anxiety for his parents. If all Grahas occupy 9th, 5th and 4th Bhava, native would lose his earlier-born children, but issues from 2nd and 3rd wive would remain alive.
Sloka 23. If Mangal be in 6th Bhava, Rahu in 7th Bhava and Sani in 8th Bhava, native would lose his partner and become dependent on others. If at birth, Lagna Tithi (lunar date) and day (or night) be at their last portion and if rising Navamsa be a moveable one, native would be the last issue of his parents. He would not have younger brothers or sisters.
Sloka 24. If Surya be in 7th, Mangal in 10th and Rahu in 12th Bhava, native would lose his parents. If in this combination (i.e. with Surya in 7th and Mangal in 10th), Rahu and Guru are placed in 6th, 1st or 4th Bhava, parents of native would die within 24 years of his age and native would be held responsible for it.
Sloka 25. If malefics be posited in their own Rasis in 1st, 4th and 10th Bhava, native would earn his livelihood with great difficulty. Even if there be aspect of benefic Grahas on malefics, native would not give up his evil disposition but would continue to indulge in sinful acts.

Sloka 26. If Surya, Rahu, Sani and Guru be in Lagna, 6th or 5th Bhava, child born under such disposition would bring adverse effects to the parents. If there be malefics in 10th, 3rd, 7th and 12th Bhava, child born under this combination would always be suffering from some kind of trouble in the body.
Sloka 27. If Sani be in Lagna, Chandr in 6th Bhava and Budh in 7th Bhava, these dispositions would cause destruction of father. If all malefics be posited in Kendras (1st, 4th, 7th, 10th), 2nd Bhava and in Trikonas (5th, 9th) they would bring ruin to entire family and make native very poor.
Sloka 28. If Sani be in 2nd Bhava, Guru in Lagna, Rahu in 3rd Bhava, these dispositions would prove disastrous for mother. The result would be the same when Sani, Rahu, Sukr and Mangal occupy respectively Vrishabha, Mithuna, Kanya and Simha.
Sloka 29. If Rahu, Surya, Sukr, Sani and Budh be in 2nd Bhava, father would die before birth of child. These dispositions in birth chart of child are also not auspicious for longevity of mother. If Sani be in Kumbha, Chandr in Mesha, Surya in 12th Bhava and Sukr in Makara, child would not enjoy the wealth of his father.
Sloka 30. If Mangal in its own Rasi conjoined with Budh and Sukr, aspects 10th Bhava, native would get very meager reward for his efforts. If Rahu be in 3rd Bhava, and Budh with Guru in 2nd, native would have 3 brothers.
Sloka 31. If Mangal be in 7th, Surya in 9th and Sukr in 8th Bhava, native would be short-lived. If Sukr be in 2nd Bhava, Chandr in Lagna, Surya and Budh in 12th and Rahu in 5th Bhava, native may be imprisoned for involvement in murder cases.
Sloka 32. If Mangal and Sani be in 2nd Bhava and Rahu in 3rd, native would lose his brother. If Sani and Chandr be in 9th Bhava, wife of native would be of loose character. If there be similar disposition of Grahas in a woman's birth chart, her husband would be of immoral character.
Sloka 33. If Surya be posited in Meena in 12th Bhava, he would cause trouble to the right eye of native. The left eye would be affected if Chandr be in the same position. If Mangal or Sukr be eclipsed by Surya in 5th Bhava, native would, in all probability, be one-eyed.
Sloka 34. If Lagna be Simha with Sukr posited therein and Sani be in Karkataka, native would suffer from eye trouble. If Mangal, Sani, Chandr and Surya occupy in any nativity 2nd, 12th, 6th and 8th Bhava respectively, native would lose his eyesight through a disease caused by the strongest among them.
Sloka 35. If there be a malefic in 10th Bhava from Surya and Lord of 10th Bhava as well as that occupied by Surya be afflicted on account of association with or aspect by malefics, these dispositions in a nativity would bring disaster to father of native. If Chandr be hemmed in between malefics, if there be malefics in 4th and 7th Bhava from Chandr and Chandr be weak also, such disposition would be distressing (or troublesome) for mother of native. Similarly, if there be malefics in third Bhava from Mangal and if that Bhava, its Lord and Mangal be not well-placed owing to their being in debilitation, inimical Bhava, etc., these dispositions would, give adverse results to native's brothers and his valor would also be affected. « Sanketanidhi by Rama Deyalu

Sloka 36. If there be malefics in 6th Bhava reckoned from Budh be in debilitation and week, and Lord of 6th from Budh be in an inauspicious Bhava, native would bring distress to his maternal uncle's family by either causing its extinction or other serious trouble. If Guru be in its debilitation or inimical Rasi, 5th Bhava from occupied by malefics, and if Lords of 5th Bhava (both from Lagna and Guru) be not wellplaced, native would not derive any happiness from his children (there may be no child) and he may have to adopt a child. In the the same way, we should consider from Sukr the welfare etc. of wife - whether 7th Bhava from Sukr has malefics or not, or whether Lords of 7th Bhava from Lagna or from Sukr are happily placed or not. If dispositions be good, there would be happiness, otherwise conjugal relationship may cause trouble in domestic life. Native's longevity should be considered from Sani. If strong malefics be placed in 8th Bhava from Sani and Lord of the said Bhava be also inauspiciously placed, this disposition would lead to early death of native.
Sloka 37. If 5th Bhava be well-placed in a nativity, that is, it be occupied or aspected by its own Lord or by a benefic Graha possessing several kinds of strength, happiness of children of native would be assured. If Lord of Lagna be posited in Lagna, 2nd or 5th Bhava, first issue would be a son. If Lord of Lagna be in 4th Bhava, native would get first a son and then a daughter, or first a daughter and then a son.
Sloka 38. If Lord of 3rd Bhava be in Lagna, 2nd, 12th, 3rd or 5th Bhava, native would not get happiness from his children (another interpretation is that in such a disposition of Grahas, children of native would be deprived of happiness). If Rasi of 5th Bhava be owned by Guru, i.e. if it be Dhanur or Meena, native would lose his first issue, but if that Rasi or Bhava be aspected or occupied by its own Lord, native would get happiness in respect of children (that is, he would be blessed with children).
Sloka 39. If Guru and Sukr be in their debilitation Rasis, Surya in an odd Rasi and Budh in an even Rasi, no issue would be born to native by his own efforts. If Chandr in Karkataka be associated with or aspected by malefics, and Surya be aspected by Sani, native would get a son in his old age.
Sloka 40. If Lagna falls in a Rasi owned by a malefic Graha, malefic be placed in Lagna, Surya be in Vrischika and Mangal in a dual Rasi, native is likely to get an issue in the middle period of his life. If Lagna be occupied by Budh and Sani, and Guru be associated with Sukr, the combination is not likely to give any issue to native.
Sloka 41. If 3rd, 10th, 4th, 7th, 2nd, 9th and 11th Bhava be occupied by Grahas in their Rasis of debilitation, and 6th, 8th and 12th Bhava be occupied by Grahas in their Rasis of exaltation, such disposition of Grahas and Bhava would not prove auspicious for native in the matter of children. If 3rd Bhava from Lagna be occupied by Budh, native would get 2 sons and 3 daughters. If a strong Guru be posited in 3rd Bhava, native would be blessed with 5 sons.
Sloka 42. If Chandr associated with Rahu be in 3rd Bhava, native would not have much wealth. He would have no brother or sister as well. If Sani and Chandr be together in 3rd Bhava, native would be of dark complexion and he would have no brothers. If 3rd or 5th Bhava be occupied by Mangal, native would not get any son. If a strong Sukr be posited in 7th, native would be blessed with good children.

Sloka 43. Following dispositions in a nativity are not auspicious for getting issues: (1) Lord of 5th Bhava occupies 6th, 8th or 12th Bhava and is weak - no issues, (2) Lord of 5th Bhava reckoned from Guru is in the same position - no issues, (3) Surya and Sukr are in 5th - no issues, (4) Sani and Rahu are posited in 5th aspected by malefics - no issues. Above combinations would cause loss of children as a consequence of the curse or wrath of the family deity. The worship of the deity should be resorted to ward off the evil.
Sloka 44. If childlessness be due to evil influence of Budh or Sukr, it has to be remedied by propitiating god Shiva. In other cases remedial measures would be as follow: (1) evil influence of Chandr and Guru through herbs, proper talisman and Mantras, (2) evil influence of Rahu - by performing marriage of a girl, (3) evil influence of Ketu should be neutralized by gifting a cow to a Brahmin, (4) to remove evil influence of Sani and Mangal, the remedy would be to sprinkle holy water on god Shiva.
Sloka 45. For warding off evil influence of Surya native should attentively and with devotion listen to recitation of "Harivamsa Purana". If childlessness is due to evil influence of all Grahas in equal degree, it should be removed by recitation of "Santana Gopal Mantra". If fasts are observed properly for Surya and Mangal, there would be progeny; the same would be assured if Kamavrata is observed properly (that is, according to procedure prescribed for it).
Sloka 46. Author now describes some good combinations. If Sukr, Guru and Budh be placed in Lagna, Meena, Dhanur, Karkataka or Kanya, or if they be posited separately each in a single Rasi (i.e. Sukr in Meena or Thula, Guru in Meena, Dhanur or Karkataka, Budh in Mithuna or Kanya) and if these Grahas be free from (a) association with or aspect by malefics, (b) association with debilitated or eclipsed Grahas, they would produce auspicious or favorable results. If Mangal be in 10th Bhava, Sani and Chandr be in Lagna, Guru and Surya occupy 2 Trikonas, native would become a king. For such combination Mesha should be taken as Lagna.
Sloka 47. If Lagna falls in a moveable Rasi, there be a Graha in it, and other Grahas be in 3rd Bhava and Kendras in their Rasis of exaltation, such a combination would bestow native kingship. If 4 Kendras be occupied by benefics and malefics be posited in 6th and 12th Bhava, native would become a king with all the royal paraphernalia and fame.
Sloka 48. If Lagna or Chandr be in Vargottama (that is, if they occupy same Rasi both in birth chart and Navamsa) and receive aspects from 4 or more Grahas other than Chandr, such a disposition would lead to Rajayogas (bestowing of kingship or honor). Again if Lagna be in Vargottama and benefics be placed in 2nd Bhava from Chandr, if Kendras be occupied by strong Grahas, native would become a king.
Sloka 49. If Sani be in Kumbha, Surya in Mesha, Chandr in Vrishabha and one of these Rasis be Lagna, this combination would give birth to a king. If Budh, Mangal and Guru respectively be in Mithuna, Vrischika and Simha, another Rajayoga occurs, a third Rajayoga would be formed when Chandr is associated with Mangal in an auspicious Rasi as Lagna (such as Meena or Mesha).
Sloka 50. 4 kinds of Rajayogas, combinations conferring kingship of native, are described in this Sloka: Rajayoga if Chandr be exalted and occupies Lagna and if Budh and Surya be in Kanya, Sukr in Thula, Mangal in Mesha and Guru in Karkataka (this can happen with Vrishabha as Lagna), (2) if Sani be exalted and occupies Lagna and if Budh and Surya be in Kanya, Sukr in Thula, Mangal in Mesha and Guru in « Sanketanidhi by Rama Deyalu

Karkataka (Lagna in this case would be Thula), (3) Lagna be Vrishabha, Surya and Chandr be in Dhanur and Mangal be in exaltation, that is in Makara, (4) 5 or more Grahas be in their exaltation Rasis and strong (Surya and Budh cannot be in their exaltation Rasis simultaneously).
Sloka 51. 2 Rajayogas are described in this Sloka: (1) Lagna be Mesha with Surya in it (i.e. in exaltation), Chandr with Sani be in 7th Bhava (here Sani would be exalted conjoined with full Chandr and Guru be in Dhanur), (2) Chandr be in 3rd, Mangal in 6th, Budh in 9th, Guru in 12th Bhava and Sani be in Makara which is Lagna also.
Sloka 52. 3 Rajayogas are described in this Sloka: (1) Lagna be Vrishabha with Chandr in it (in exaltation), Surya be in 4th (in Simha), Guru in 7th and Sani in 10th Bhava (Kumbha), (2) Meena Lagna and Sukr be posited in it (in exaltation) and Guru be in conjunction with Chandr in Dhanur (10th Bhava) and Mangal be in first portion of its exaltation Rasi (Makara), (3) Kanya be Lagna and Budh be posited in 3rd (in exaltation), Guru be in conjunction with Chandr in Dhanur and Mangal be in first portion of Makara (its Rasi of exaltation).
Sloka 53. 4 Rajayogas we describe in this Sloka: (1) Kanya Lagna, Budh in Lagna (in exaltation), Guru, Sukr and Chandr in 4th (Dhanur) and Mangal and Sani in 5th Bhava (Makara), (2) Lagna Meena, Chandr in Meena, Sani in Kumbha, Surya in Simha and Mangal in Makara (its Rasi of exaltation), (3) Lagna Mesha, Mangal in Lagna and Guru in Karkataka (its Rasi of exaltation), (4) Lagna Karkataka, Guru in Lagna (in its Rasi of exaltation) and Mangal in Mesha (in 10th Bhava in its own Rasi).
Sloka 54. 2 Rajayogas are described in this Sloka: (1) Lagna Karkataka, Guru in Lagna (in exaltation), Chandr, Sukr and Budh in 11th Bhava (Chandr in exaltation and Sukr in its own Bhava), and Surya in Mesha (in exaltation), (2) Lagna in 1st 1/2 of Makara, Sani in Lagna (own Rasi), Mangal in Mesha (own Rasi), Chandr in Karkataka (own Rasi), Surya in Simha (own Rasi), Budh in Mithuna (own Rasi) and Sukr in Thula (own Rasi).
Sloka 55. 2 Rajayogas are described in this Sloka: first Yoga has the power to confer kingship upon native and other makes native wealthy: (1) Lagna Kanya, Budh in Lagna (in exaltation), Sukr in 10th Bhava, Chandr and Guru in 7th (Dhanur) and Sani and Mangal in 5th Bhava (Makara), (2) Chandr in 10th, Sani in 11th, Guru in 1st, Budh and Mangal in 2nd and Surya and Sukr in 4th Bhava.
Sloka 56. 4 auspicious combinations have been described in this Sloka: (1) if there be a Graha in its Rasi of exaltation but not combust, native would become equal to king, (2) if Surya and Guru occupy 5th Bhava from Lagna native would become wealthy and well versed in Shastras, (3) if a strong Budh (that is, not in proximity to Surya and also otherwise strong) be posited in Lagna and Lord of 2nd Bhava occupies a Kendra, native would perform good and meritorious deeds, (4) if there be a malefic Graha in 6th Bhava and a benefic in a Kendra, person concerned would become wealthy and learned.
Sloka 57. 2 good combinations have been described in this Sloka: (1) when Rahu together with Mangal, Sani and Sukr be placed in Kanya, native would become wealthy, (2) if debilitated Grahas (i.e. Grahas posited in their Rasis of debilitation) be placed in 11th, 10th, 2nd and 3rd Bhava from Lagna, native would become a king.

Sloka 58. When 2 Grahas - one Lord of a Kendra and other Lord of a Trikona - unafflicted by association or aspect of malefics become mutually related, then they prove very auspicious and make native prosperous. Mutual relationship takes place as under: (1) each occupying other's Bhava (exchange of Bhava), (2) being together in a Kendra or Trikona, (3) one being posited in a Kendra while other in a Trikona, (4) being together in a single Bhava, (5) mutual aspect, (6) one aspecting other. Effect of this combination would be at its best if Grahas involved be Lords of 9th and 10th Bhava. End of 3rd Sanketa.
1st Bhava Sloka 1. This chapter describes in short effects of different Bhavas in a chart. These effects may be due to occupation, ownership, aspect etc. of various Grahas in the said Bhava whether reckoned from Lagna or from Chandr. The contents in this chapter have been taken from other existing works on astrology. If all Grahas aspect Lagna or Chandr, a powerful Rajayoga is formed.
Sloka 2. Following matters should be judged from 1st Bhava or Lagna: appearance of native, his complexion, vitality, proportion of different parts of his body, spots, caste, rank, happiness, misery, head, body, mother's father, father's mother.
Sloka 3. If in a nativity benefics be in 6th, 7th and 8th Bhava from Lagna or Chandr, and there be no association with or aspect of malefics on them, native would be long-lived and ruler of a mighty kingdom. Benefics in Lagna are always beneficial to native while malefics in that Bhava cause untoward effects.
Sloka 4. If there be a strong benefic in Lagna, native would be of heavy build. If Chandr be in Lagna and be associated with or aspected by a malefic, native would suffer from cold, indigestion etc. If a malefic Graha occupies first 1/2 of Lagna, native would have some trouble in the left side of forehead. If a malefic be posited in the other half, the trouble would be in that part.
Sloka 5. A malefic in Lagna gives a wound in the head. If Chandr be in Lagna, native is likely to get some trouble from water. If Mangal be the owner of Lagna, native would look youngish even in old age. If there is Budh in Lagna, native would be of childish (also witty) nature.
Sloka 6. - 7. If Surya and Mangal are posited in Lagna, there would be a red spot or mark in the part of the body signified by Rasi of Lagna. Similarly, if Rahu and Sani are posited in Lagna there would be black spot in that part of the body signified by Rasi of Lagna. If Guru be posited in his own Rasi in Lagna, the mode of speaking would be sweet and soft and he would eat sumptuous meals. If Budh be occupying Lagna in its own Rasi, native would like food of astringent flavor. If Sukr be placed similarly together with Chandr, native would have taste for pungent and acidy foods. If similar position be occupied by Rahu and Sani or Ketu and Sani, native would be fond of very pungent things like black pepper. If Lagna be occupied by Surya and Mangal or by Mangal and Sani, native would be arrogant, proud, of nasty nature and fond of acrid things. « Sanketanidhi by Rama Deyalu

2nd Bhava «
Sloka 8. Native would be long-lived if Lord of Lagna be a benefic and strong and benefics be placed in Lagna. He would be short-lived if there be malefics in Lagna. If Mangal and Surya be posited in Lagna, native would be greedy. If Lagna be in a malefic Rasi (i.e. Rasi owned by a malefic) and Chandr and Guru are also associated with malefics, native would become a victim of diseases of the head.
2nd Bhava Sloka 9. Second Bhava is called Dhana Bhava or Bhava of wealth. The other objects that concern this Bhava are family (it is also called Kutumba Bhava), treasury, eyes, face, speech, selling and buying, gold, pearls, silver etc.
Sloka 10. If Lords of Lagna and 2nd Bhava be placed in 2nd Bhava along with benefics, native would derive all good effects of this Bhava. If 2nd Bhava be associated with or aspected by powerful benefics, native would get lot of wealth and would be sweet and soft in speech. If Budh aspected by Chandr be in 2nd Bhava native would be poor.
Sloka 11. If there be waning Chandr in 2nd Bhava and be aspected by Budh, there would be destruction or loss of wealth. If there be Sukr in 2nd Bhava and be aspected by Budh there would be gain or acquisition of wealth. If Surya be posited in 2nd Bhava, native would get marks or signs of diseases on his body. If Surya in 2nd Bhava be aspected by a female Graha (Chandr or Sukr), native would possess harsh speech and would not be rich.
Sloka 12. If Surya with Budh be in 2nd Bhava, native would be clever in serving others. His wealth would not be stable and would remain in control of the relative or person indicated by Bhava of Graha associated with Surya in 2nd Bhava (i.e. Budh), for example, if Vrishabha be Lagna, Budh being Lord of 5th Bhava which is in a female Rasi Kanya, native would be controlled by his daughter.
Sloka 13. If Graha so associated be a female Graha happening to be Lord of 3rd Bhava, wealth would be in control of native's sister. If associating Graha be Lord of 4th, wealth should be in control of mother, while if associating Graha be Lord of 6th, wealth should be in control of maternal uncle. If Rahu be in 2nd Bhava, native would suffer from dental trouble. If Chandr occupies 2nd Bhava native would suffer from high fever affecting the brain.
Sloka 14. If a malefic along with Sukr be posited in 2nd Bhava, native would either be without sight in one of his eyes or his eyes would have some other defect (like squint etc.). This disposition would also cause defect in his speech (stammering). If Sukr or Mangal be in 2nd or 12th Bhava, native would suffer from ear troubles. If Chandr be in such position, native would have eye troubles.
Sloka 15. If a powerful Guru or a powerful Budh be posited in 2nd Bhava, native would be a great orator and his speech would be sweet and soft. If Ketu is in 2nd, native would have a long face. If a Graha along with his enemy Graha occupies 2nd Bhava, person concerned would die on account of some disease of the mouth.

3rd Bhava «
Sloka 16. If Chandr be in 2nd, native would have to face danger from water. If Sani and Rahu be in 2nd alongwith female Grahas, native would squander away all his wealth through his association with low caste people, prostitutes, singers and the like.
Sloka 17. If Lord of 2nd Bhava and Mangal, both posited in 2nd Bhava be weak, wealth of native would be lost through enemies, fire or king (government). If Mangal be in 2nd Bhava along with a malefic, native would lose his wife on account of blood poisoning, or by injury from a weapon.
3rd Bhava Sloka 18. 3rd Bhava deals with following subjects: arms of native, his nature, mother's paternal uncle, father's maternal uncle, maid servants, ear, courage, brothers.
Sloka 19. If 3rd Bhava be in a benefic Rasi and be aspected by a benefic, this would lead to the happiness of brothers and gain of wealth. If Sani be posited in 3rd Bhava and be aspected by Mangal, this disposition would cause loss of brothers. If 3rd Bhava be aspected by Guru or Sukr, it would cause auspicious results for brothers.
Sloka 20. If Guru be placed in 3rd Bhava in own Rasi (Dhanur or Meena), the brothers of native would enjoy happiness and prosperity. If Sani be in 3rd Bhava, native would be fortunate. If Rahu and Sani be together in 3rd Bhava, native would suffer from some disease of nails. He would also have in his right hand a sign of injury caused by wood and would suffer from wind trouble.
Sloka 21. If Mangal and Surya be placed in 3rd Bhava, native would suffer from bone fracture. He would do cruel acts. There would be no such fracture if there be a benefic in 3rd Bhava. Native would have as many brothers as would be Navamsas that have risen in 3rd Bhava and aspected by Mangal and Chandr.
Sloka 22. If Surya be posited in own Rasi (Simha) in 9th Bhava (from where it fully aspects 3rd Bhava), native would suffer from loss of brothers. If, however, any of them survives, he would become equal to a king. If Chandr aspected by malefics be in 3rd Bhava, native would be deprived of all his brothers. Surya in 3rd Bhava causes loss of elder brother, Mangal causes loss of younger brother and Sani and Rahu in the same position destroy both elder and younger brothers.
Sloka 23. If Mangal aspected by cruel Grahas (malefics), be placed in 3rd Bhava, native would have signs of injury from a weapon in his arm or arms. In this disposition the younger brother of native would suffer from a disease of the throat caused by Pitta Dosha. If malefics together with their enemies be in 3rd Bhava, native would suffer from pain in the arms and from paralysis. His wife would be indulging in gambling excessively if Guru be in 3rd Bhava.
Sloka 24. If Sani be in 7th, Rahu in 9th and Mangal in 11th Bhava, loss of brothers should be predicted. The same prediction should be made if Sani be in 3rd and be aspected by malefics. Budh, Guru and Sukr in 3rd Bhava are auspicious for prosperity of brothers. If malefics be in 3rd Bhava, or if that Bhava be aspected by them, there would be loss of 2 brothers. « Sanketanidhi by Rama Deyalu

4th Bhava «
Sloka 25. If Chandr and Sani be in 9th and 3rd Bhava respectively, or if Rahu along with benefics be in 3rd, native would have to bear the loss of 3 sisters. With this disposition moles will appear on 2 arms or the belly.
Sloka 26. If Sukr be in 3rd Bhava aspected by Rahu, the sister of native would die as a result of poisoning. If Such Sukr be aspected by Sani, there would be danger from serpents. If malefics be in 3rd Bhava, the hearing capacity of native would be adversely affected.
4th Bhava Sloka 27. - 28. The subjects to be considered from 4th Bhava are: happiness, land, conveyance, a reservoir, tank, well, agricultural land, close friends, mother, chest, dwelling place etc. If 4th Bhava be aspected by or associated with benefics and Lord of 4th be posited with strength in 4th, then beneficial results would accrue from it. If a powerful Surya and Mangal be posited in 4th, native suffers from ulcers caused by excess of Pita (bile).
Sloka 29. If Mangal in 4th be aspected by Sani and Rahu and Chandr, mother of native would be unchaste. Whichever Graha be placed in 4th, its qualities, whether good or bad, would be attributed to particular relative of native indicated by that Graha.
Sloka 30. If Sukr and Chandr be posited in 4th, native likes water of a tank. If Budh be there, he would have preference for sweet water. If Guru be in the same position native would like very sweet water and other edibles. If Rahu and Sani occupy 4th Bhava, native would get water with a pungent and bitter taste. If Surya and Mangal be there, water would be difficult to get.
Sloka 31. The structure of house of native would depend on Graha posited in 4th. If there be more than 1 Graha, structure would be according to the strongest of them. With Budh in 4th Bhava would be artistic, with Chandr new, with Guru strong and durable, with Surya and Ketu flimsy, with Sani and Rahu old, with Sukr lovely, with Mangal a building affected by fire.
Sloka 32. If Chandr and Sukr be in 4th Bhava, the food, flavor, metal etc. liked by person would be dainty food, sweet things and silver. The metals etc. would vary according to Grahas posited in 4th and would be gold, bell metal, pearls, copper, decorated with gems, and iron when the occupying Graha be Budh, Surya, Guru, Mangal or Sani.
Sloka 33. If there be query as to the contents in house of native, answer would depend on Graha posited in 4th. This has already been explained in previous Sloka. If Rahu be in 4th Bhava, there would be bones and similar things in house. If query be about a missing article, and at the time of query Guru be in 4th, missing article would be in mansion itself. In case of other Grahas in 4th Bhava, missing article would be at places mentioned below: Mangal - fireplaces Budh - places where bricks are stored Sukr and Chandr - where there is water Sani - at a dirty place Surya - place outside house Rahu - where animals are kept. If above Grahas instead of being placed there, aspect 4th Bhava, the answer would be the same. « Sanketanidhi by Rama Deyalu

5th Bhava «
Sloka 34. In this manner effects should be delineated both in the query and birth charts. Full effects would be realized if Grahas be possessed of adequate strength. If benefics be posited in 4th Bhava, they would bring happiness to the parents of native, native would be pious and be a devotee of god Vishnu. It would not be so if there be malefic in 4th Bhava.
Sloka 35. If there be Mangal in 10th Bhava and it aspects Surya, native dies after a heart attack. If 10th Bhava be occupied by Sani and Chandr aspects it, mother dies of the same disease. In this disposition native would also be afraid of relations and would be poor. Mangal in 4th Bhava would bring trouble from fire. Sani in same position would give wind trouble to native. If 4th Bhava be inhabited by malefics, the number of children would be restricted to 2 or 3.
Sloka 36. If Lord of Lagna along with Lords of 4th and 10th Bhava, be in 12th, 6th or 7th or be eclipsed on account of proximity to Surya or be otherwise weak by being posited in an enemy Bhava or by being in its Rasi of debilitation, both native and his parents would suffer badly. Effect of this combination would be hastened if Lord of Lagna be also aspected by malefics.
5th Bhava Sloka 37. The subjects that are to be considered from 5th Bhava are: intelligence, any plan or scheme, literary works, stomach, disciples, conception, Mantra Sadhana, issues, children, worship of deities.
Sloka 38. If Lord of 5th be strong and well placed in horoscope, all auspicious results of 5th Bhava can be expected. If Lord of 5th be weak, opposite (inauspicious) results would accrue. If a weak Surya be posited in 5th native would have angry temperament and he would be afraid of his enemies, he would receive injury in feet or stomach by jackals or horses.
Sloka 39. If there be a weak Mangal in 5th, native would have to face troubles from fire, weapons and poison. He would have have to suffer the loss of his children. If Chandr and Rahu be in 5th, native would suffer from wind disease, spleen trouble, and disease caused by worms.
Sloka 40. If Surya be posited in 5th, native would have a stable mind. Chandr in 5th would make his mind instable (changeable). If Mangal be in 5th, native would be cruel-minded. Budh in 5th would give him a normal temperament. Guru in 5th gives native a virtuous disposition and Sukr makes him softhearted. Rahu and Sani in 5th make native hardhearted. If benefics be placed in 5th, native would have a pious mind and be intelligent. If there be malefics in that position, native would get into the habit of speaking ill of the learned.
Sloka 41. If a weak Chandr be posited in 5th, native would get daughters but no son. The same would be the result if there be a weak Budh in 5th. Guru in 5th gives noble sons to native and Sukr gives sons who are clever and intelligent. Children destroyed before birth would be as many as there be malefic Graha aspecting Navamsas of Sani in 5th Bhava. No such loss would happen if such Navamsas be aspected by benefics.

5th Bhava «
Sloka 42. If there be a malefic in 4th, Sukr in 7th and Chandr in 10th, native would be childless. If Surya and Sukr be in 5th, children would die after birth. If 5th Bhava be associated with or aspected by malefics, native would have no issue (he would be childless).
Sloka 43. Native would get a daughter, if 5th Bhava be in an even Varga (Hora, Drekkana etc.) and be associated with Sani or Budh and aspected by Chandr and Sukr. Native can get a son, if 5th Bhava be in an odd Varga or Varga owned by Chandr or Sukr or aspected by these Grahas. But the issue can only be a daughter, if in above case aspecting Grahas be Sani or Budh and Bhava be bereft of aspect of its Lord.
Sloka 44. If Sani associated with a malefic be in 5th, native would have no issues. If Mangal associated with a malefic be posited there, native's wife would have abortions. A weak Surya aspected by malefics causes loss of children. If a weak Rahu or Ketu be also there, child born would grow into an undesirable person.
Sloka 45. If there be benefics in 5th Bhava or it be aspected by benefics, be in a benefic Rasi or Amsa, native is likely to have good children. If 5th Bhava be in Rasi or Amsa of Sani and be aspected by Chandr, or if Sani associated with Lord of Rasi or Amsa occupied by Chandr, native would adopt a son.
Sloka 46. If Chandr along with Budh and Sani be in 5th Bhava, native would purchase a boy and adopt him. If Sani be aspected by Budh or be in Rasi of Budh, and be either aspected by Surya and Mangal or posited in an Amsa owned by these Grahas, or be associated with a Graha in debilitation, native would get a son conceived by his wife through mating with another person.
Sloka 47. When disposition of 5th Bhava assures prospects of children, there would be male issues if 5th Bhava be aspected by male Grahas (Surya, Mangal, Guru) and female issues if Bhava be aspected by female Grahas (Sukr, Chandr). The nature, good or bad, of children would also be in accordance with the good or bad Grahas aspecting 5th Bhava.
Sloka 48. Product of the portion (in Kalas) passed in particular Navamsas (in 5th Bhava) that are aspected and Drigbala obtained thereby would determine the number of children. The number of children would also correspond to the number of Rasi (counted from Mesha) containing Lord of 5th Bhava. Out of these, the number that would be destroyed would be equal to that of malefic and inimical Grahas aspecting Lord of 5th Bhava. Or the number of issues may be the number faced for Rasi of 5th Bhava and would denote the number of sons or daughters as the case may be.
Sloka 49. - 50. If there be no strong benefic in 5th Bhava but Lord of 5th be associated with or aspected by a malefic who is also weak, child would suffer from a disease caused by the humor or humors of Lord of 5th or Graha aspecting or associated with it. If Surya be strong and auspicious in 5th, native would get 1 to 3 sons. This would happen when be aspected by Lord of 5th and friendly male Grahas. If Chandr be strong and auspicious in 5th, native would get 3 daughters. Other Grahas in the same position would give issues as under: Budh - 4 sons Guru - 5 sons Sukr - 4 to 6 daughters Sani - 2 daughters and 1 son. Generally, the number also depends on the aspect, sex. etc. of Grahas whether inimical or friendly, whether male or female. « Sanketanidhi by Rama Deyalu

6th Bhava «
Sloka 51. If there be a malefic in 11th Bhava and Sukr and Chandr be in 5th, first issue would be a daughter, and there be no happiness to mother. If 5th Bhava be strong and unafflicted and be associated with or aspected by friendly and benefic Grahas and Lord of 5th be a benefic and in own Rasi or Navamsa, first issue is likely to be a son. The time for having an issue would be when Guru in his transit arrives at an odd Bhava reckoned from its natal position.
6th Bhava Sloka 52. - 53. Of several parts of the body of Kalapurusha, or time personified, beginning with the head, 6th is the navel and this is allotted to 6th Bhava. 6th is also Bhava of animals. All good and bad about pet animals belonging to native should be considered from this Bhava. Other matters which concern 6th Bhava are: cruel actions, diseases, ears, maternal uncle, enemies, anxiety, suspicions. If Lord of 6th be powerful, owns a benefic Rasi and be associated with or aspected by benefics, auspicious results may be expected from this Bhava. Results would not be favorable if there be malefic influence on 6th Bhava.
Sloka 54. If there be strong benefics in 6th Bhava, native would own good animal wealth in the shape of cows. If strong Surya and Mangal be posited in 6th Bhava, native would have plenty of animal wealth in the shape of camels and goats. If remaining malefics Sani, Rahu and Ketu be posited there, native would possess buffaloes and would he liable to be injured through them.
Sloka 55. If Sani or Rahu be placed in 6th Bhava, maternal uncle of native may remain in want of issues. Also native or his maternal uncle would meet their end by a blow from a wooden article, stone, or through a quadruped, or by fall from a tree or through water.
Sloka 56. If Surya and Mangal posited in 6th be aspected by malefics, injury by weapons or fire to maternal uncle should be predicted. If male Grahas possessing adequate strength be in 6th Bhava or aspect 6th Bhava, maternal uncle would get a son. The issue would be a daughter if female Grahas be so disposed. If 6th Bhava has benefic Grahas in it, there would be no happiness to brothers. If there be malefics in 3rd, there would be little happiness to native through his brothers and sisters.
Sloka 57. According to authors, happiness or otherwise to native from his brothers and sisters should be considered or examined from 6th Bhava. If there be female Grahas in 6th Bhava, native would get happiness through his sisters. If male Grahas be so placed, happiness would be through brothers. The nature, form, caste, characteristics, cruel deeds, health etc. of enemies would be in accordance with disposition of 6th Bhava or its Lord. Where are the spots or moles located in the body can also be ascertained by a study of 6th Bhava. If Rahu or Sani be posited in this Bhava, native would have a black spot or mark on his buttocks.
Sloka 58. If native has no spot in his body, it would be found in the body of his wife. Native would suffer from an ulcer or wound if Surya or Mangal be in 6th Bhava. As mentioned above, the spot or mole may be found in the neck, right leg or shanks of his wife.
Sloka 59. If strong Surya be in 6th, native would destroy his enemies, but he may suffer from colic pain in the hips. If Mangal along with Rahu be in 6th Bhava, there would be danger to native from relations on his « Sanketanidhi by Rama Deyalu

mother's side. If Surya or Mangal associated with or aspected by Guru be in 6th Bhava, native would suffer from pain in half of his body. Further he is likely to get injured through horned animals or from a blow from an article made of wood.
Sloka 60. Native would have maternal relations according to disposition of Grahas as described below: (1) 2 maternal uncles if Chandr be in 6th and Guru in 2nd Bhava, (2) a sickly maternal uncle if Chandr be posited with Mangal in 6th, (3) a mother's sister, if Sukr be in 6th Bhava. If Sukr be possessed of full strength, there would be 2 or 3 sisters of mother, who would be a source of happiness to native.
7th Bhava Sloka 61. 7th Bhava denotes the pelvis of native. The matters that are considered from this Bhava are: natives partner, complaint, watershed, journey, trade or business (partnership), and paternal grandfather.
Sloka 62. If there be benefics in 7th Bhava, auspicious results would be obtained. Effects would be inauspicious or unfavorable if malefic Grahas be posited in that Bhava. If Guru, Sukr or Chandr with adequate strength be posited in 7th Bhava, the complexion of partner of native would be gold-like. If Budh placed there be strong, complexion would be dark blue. Mangal there would give complexion of crimson color. If Sani or Rahu be there the complexion would be very dark.
Sloka 63. If Grahas mentioned below be with adequate strength in 7th, results would be as given against them: Surya - wife would have had connections with other men, would be worn out and unfit for conjugal relations Chandr and Budh - wife would be too young knowing nothing about conjugal relations. One who would have not attained young the age of puberty Sukr or Mangal - wife would be in her full youth and health Guru - wife would be handsome, would beget children and would possess good qualities Sani or Rahu - wife would appear older than her age.
Sloka 64. Wife would possess qualities in accordance with Grahas posited in 7th Bhava as described below: Rahu and Sani - would not be able to produce children. In other words she would be barren Sukr and Chandr - would possess all the good qualities of a female Surya, Mangal, Budh or Guru - would be more of a masculine nature. If 7th Bhava be in a benefic Rasi (that is, Rasi owned by a benefic Graha), and associated with or aspected by benefics, native would derive happiness from his / her mother-in law.
Sloka 65. If 7th Bhava be in a Varga of Sukr or be aspected by Sukr, native would have many wives to enjoy. If 7th Bhava be in Rasi of Guru or be aspected by Guru, native would have only 1 wife to give him conjugal happiness. Native's wife would be arrogant if 7th Bhava falls in Rasi of Chandr, Guru or Sukr and be aspected by Sukr or Mangal (even if Sukr be in its Rasi of debilitation).
Sloka 66. If Sani and Mangal be in 7th Bhava or aspect it, native's wife would be of unstable mind, and would be troubled by wind disease. She would have excessive blood and have marks or moles in her waist. If Chandr along with Mangal be posited in 7th Bhava and be aspected by Sani, native's wife would die of some kind of stomach trouble. If Sani and Rahu be in 7th Bhava, wife would die of diseases caused by water or worms or by being injured through animals, female imps or evil spirits.

7th Bhava «
Sloka 67. If 7th Bhava be inhabited by benefics, native would have normal sexual desires and satisfy them accordingly. If malefics occupy 7th Bhava, such desires of native may not be in the right direction. If impotent Grahas like Budh be in 7th Bhava, native may be impotent. If Rahu be in 7th Bhava and gets no benefic aspect, native may have to remain unmarried. If he gets married, his wife would die soon after marriage. If, however, there be benefic influence on 7th Bhava, death of native's wife may take place after some time. If Mangal occupies 7th and 8th Bhava has Sani in it, native would have 2 wives (our understanding is that second wife would come after the death of the first in such disposition).
Sloka 68. If Chandr aspects 7th Bhava, wife of native would be of changeable nature (in her moral behavior). The same would be the consequence if Chandr is in a Varga of Guru and be associated with or aspected by Budh. If Chandr is in 7th Bhava and falls in a Varga of Sani or Mangal, and be associated with or aspected by either of these 2 Grahas, both the husband and wife would be of loose moral character. If Sukr be in any way influenced (by association or aspect) by either of these 2 Grahas, native would give up his wife and develop illicit relations with another woman.
Sloka 69. If Sani, Chandr and Mangal be associated together, or there be mutual aspect amongst them, or Chandr falls between Mangal and Sani, both the husband and wife would be of loose moral character. If Lord of 7th be in Navamsa of Budh and be also aspected by Budh, wife of native would behave like a prostitute.
Sloka 70. There would be no marriage for native if malefics be in Lagna, 7th, and 12th Bhava and a waning Chandr be placed in 5th in Rasi of a malefic. If Surya be placed in 6th or 12th Bhava or Lagna, native would marry only once. If Mangal and Sukr be posited in 9th, 5th or 7th, native would have 1 wife only but she would have a deformed body and low intelligence.
Sloka 71. If Sukr be in Gandanta position (simultaneous end of Rasi and constellation) or Sukr be in 7th and Sani in Lagna, wife of native would be barren, for this combination to materialize, 5th Bhava should also fall in a cruel Rasi owned, occupied or aspected by a malefic. If 7th Bhava from Lagna or Chandr be inhabited by malefics and Sani and Chandr be in 7th, wife would become a widow and would remarry after widowhood.
Sloka 72. The number of wives a person may have would be equal to the number of Navamsas passed by Lord of 7th Rasi occupied by it. This number may also be equal to the number of Grahas aspecting 7th Bhava. If Lord of 7th Bhava is in a Navamsa owned by Budh and Sani, or Mangal and Sani, native would marry only once. If Mangal, Sani and Rahu be in 6th, 8th and 7th Bhava respectively, native's wife would not survive even if he marries a number of times.
Sloka 73. If Mangal, Sani and Rahu be together in 7th or 8th Bhava, native would be liable to be bitten by a dog or suffer from venereal diseases.

8th Bhava Sloka 74. 8th Bhava is known as Bhava of mystery. Matters to be examined from 8th Bhava are: fear from enemies, origination of diseases, hole or a slit on boat, imprisonment, crossing the river, theft, fighting, acting in an unbecoming manner, happiness, misery etc.
Sloka 75. Consideration of 8th Bhava should be done in the same manner as that of 2nd Bhava. That is, if Chandr be strong so far as 8th Bhava is concerned, the same effect should be said as in case of 2nd Bhava. Benefics bestow wealth upon native, malefics there would destroy it. Malefics in 8th Bhava may cause wounds or moles in the private parts of native or his wife.
Sloka 76. If malefics be in 8th Bhava, native would suffer badly from various diseases. In the case of a query about success, in conquering a fortress, if 8th Bhava of query chart be occupied by malefics, it should be understood that native would not have quick success while besieging the fortress; he would be involved in a long drawn battle and may lose a number of his men. If query is whether captured person would be released or not, the answer would be that he would get released very soon from enemy's bondage through the efforts of a brave warrior. About query whether the boat would cross the river safely or not, the answer would be affirmative.
Sloka 77. If Lord of Lagna be an enemy of Surya, native would be short-lived. If it be neutral, native would have normal (medium) life. If Lord of Lagna be friendly to Surya, native would enjoy a long life. Similarly, if Lord of Lagna occupies a friendly Bhava, native would be long-lived, If he be in a neutral Bhava, native would have medium life. He would be short-lived if Lord of Lagna be in an inimical Bhava.
Sloka 78. If Lords of Lagna and 8th Bhava be posited in moveable Rasis or if either of them be in a fixed Rasi and other in a dual Rasi, native would be long-lived. So say the Sages.
Sloka 79. If either of Lord of Lagna one occupies a moveable Rasi and the other a fixed one or if both be in dual Rasis, native would have medium longevity. If one be in a moveable Rasi and the other in a dual Rasi, or if both be in fixed Rasis, native would be short-lived. This is first method of determining longevity of native. Other method for ascertaining longevity is to adopt the same process for Lagna and Chandr. That is, if Lagna and Chandr be both in moveable Rasis, or if one be in a fixed Rasi and other be in a dual one, native would be long-lived. When Lagna occupies a moveable Rasi and Chandr be in a fixed Rasi, or if both of them be in dual Rasis, native would have medium longevity. If Lagna be in a moveable Rasi and Chandr in a dual Rasi, or if both of them be in fixed Rasis, native would be short-lived. Third method would be by adopting a similar process for Lagna at birth and Hora Lagna.
Sloka 80. In determining native's longevity if there be agreement according to 2 or more methods mentioned in previous 2 Slokas, that longevity alone should be taken as correct. There is one more important point to be kept in mind. What has been mentioned above as long, medium or short life due to Lords of Lagna and Lord of 8th Bhava occupying moveable, fixed or dual Rasis, would apply only when significators occupy the beginning of a Rasi and not its end. When they be posited in positions other than the beginning, the period has to be calculated by "rule of three" process. If there be disagreement, longevity should be settled in the manner described in next Sloka. In order to obtain Hora Lagna, if birth Lagna « Sanketanidhi by Rama Deyalu

happens to be in an odd Rasi, calculations have to be made from Rasi occupied by Surya. If Lagna be in an even Rasi, calculation should be made from Lagna itself.
Sloka 81. The death of native should be predicted during Dasha (major period) of (1) a Graha owning a Maraka (death-inflicting) Bhava (2nd and 7th), (2) a malefic Graha posited in 2nd or 7th Bhava, or (3) a Graha that has relationship with them.
Sloka 82. If death does not take place in any of the periods mentioned above, it might take place during period of Lord of 12th Bhava or of Graha who may be related to it, or it might take place during period of Lord of 8th Bhava or during period of a Graha who rules a constellation that is inauspicious with reference to birth constellation of native. Native would be long-lived if Lords of Lagna, 10th and 8th Bhava have adequate strength.
Sloka 83. Sani also becomes a death-inflicting Graha when he be a malefic in a birth chart and has relationship with death-inflicting Grahas.
Sloka 84. If Mangal and Sani be together with Rahu in 8th Bhava, the death of native would take place in battlefield through weapons etc. A benefic posited in 8th Bhava would also be capable of inflicting death in battlefield if aspected by inimical and malefic Grahas.
9th Bhava Sloka 85. 9th Bhava is called Bhava of fate - Bhagya. It is Bhava of prosperity and auspiciousness and represents the thighs of Kalapurusha, while according to some the legs. The matters which are considered from 9th Bhava are: palace, temple, well, reservoir, pilgrimage to holy places, good deeds.
Sloka 86. What is predicted about brothers from 3rd Bhava, should be predicted from 9th Bhava also. All will be good and auspicious for native if Lord of 9th be a benefic and if 9th Bhava be associated with or aspected by benefics. If 9th Bhava from Lagna or Chandr be aspected by Lord of 9th, prosperity would be enjoyed by native in the country of his birth. If 9th Bhava be aspected by some other Graha or Grahas, native would gain prosperity in a foreign country.
Sloka 87. If there be a malefic Graha in 9th Bhava, native would be sickly and would have an ulcer in his foot. If Rahu be posited in 9th, native would have defective nails and would suffer from pain in his bones. If Mangal be there, native would suffer from fire or poison. If there be male Grahas in 9th, native would have brothers, and have sisters if 9th be occupied by female benefic Grahas. If 9th be occupied by benefics possessing adequate strength, specially in exaltation, native would enjoy prosperity in all ways. If an exalted Graha aspects 9th Bhava from 1st, 3rd or 5th, native would definitely enjoy good prosperity (only Guru can aspect 9th Bhava from 1st and 5th).
Sloka 88. If a benefic like Guru and Sukr attaining his highest exaltation point be posited in 9th and combination mentioned previously be also present, a Rajayoga is formed and its effects would be full. If Sani and Mangal be also posited in 9th, effect of Rajayoga would be half. Even if a weak benefic be placed in 9th, native would be virtuously disposed and would perform religious deeds. « Sanketanidhi by Rama Deyalu

If Mangal and Chandr be in 9th, native would suffer the loss of his mother. If Surya and Chandr be in 9th, native would suffer the loss of his mother. If Surya and Chandr be in 9th, native would be short-lived. If Mangal also joins combination, native would be in strange and unexpected circumstances.
Sloka 90. Native attains salvation after death with following combinations: (1) if Lords of Lagna, 9th and 8th Bhava possess adequate strength and aspect their own Bhava, (2) if benefics be posited in 9th and there be no malefic influence on this Bhava.
10th Bhava Sloka 91. 10th Bhava denotes 2 knees and back bone of native. The matters which concern 10th Bhava are: native's business, occupation, livelihood, father, sovereign, government, position, administrative appointment, happiness, banner, rain, drought, action, family etc.
Sloka 92. Just as all about mother is to be considered from 4th Bhava, so all about father should be considered from 10th Bhava. If Lord of 10th be a benefic Graha with adequate strength and be associated with benefic Grahas, or if 10th Bhava has benefic Grahas in it and be aspected by friendly Grahas be all auspicious (that is, favorable to native).
Sloka 93. If a full and strong Chandr occupies 4th Bhava, Sukr with adequate strength be in 7th and Budh be in 10th, effects of 10th Bhava would be favorable to native (in this case Surya would also be in 10th Bhava). If Guru also joins Budh in 10th, native would derive full happiness from his brother, mother, father and lands. Native would enjoy full prosperity if Guru, Sukr, Budh and full Chandr (i.e. all natural benefics) be placed in 10th Bhava (here Surya would be in 4th Bhava).
Sloka 94. The result would be auspicious for native if benefic Grahas posited in 10th be aspected by benefics. If male Grahas be strong in 10th, the male members would dominate in family matters. If female Grahas be strong there, dominant role in family would be played by female members. Men who have Guru in 10th in their birth charts, would be happy. If there be Surya in 10th Bhava aspected by benefics, native would perform a number of virtuous deeds.
Sloka 95. Native would suffer from pain in his knees if Surya be in 10th or aspects 10th Bhava. If Mangal be in 10th, native would suffer from injuries, ulcers, wounds through weapons or fire. If Sani and Rahu be in 10th, native would suffer from wind. Also native, his parents or his wife would have a black mole or mark on their back.
Sloka 96. If Sani be in 10th conjoined with Surya or Rahu and aspected by Mangal, native's father would die in a foreign land. If 10th Bhava be in a malefic Rasi and occupied or aspected by malefics, or by both benefics and malefics, the result would be inauspicious for native. He may have to suffer from the wrath of king or government. Native would also be separated from his mother.

Sloka 97. If Surya aspected by Sani and Rahu be in 10th in a malefic Rasi, death of father may take place in the period of any of 3 Grahas involved in this combination. If there is query whether rainfall would be good or not, answer would be affirmative if 10th Bhava be occupied by benefics. Answer would be negative if Grahas posited there be malefics. Similarly, rainfall would be good if there be benefics in 10th Bhava in query chart and a strong Chandr receives aspect of benefics. If there be malefics in 10th and Chandr be aspected by malefics, there would be no rainfall. Even if there is rain, it would do more harm than good.
Sloka 98. The source of livelihood or occupation of native may be judged from Graha occupying 10th Bhava with adequate strength or Graha with similar strength aspecting 10th Bhava. Again, Navamsa of 10th Bhava from Lagna, Chandr or Surya, whichever is strongest, would indicate the profession. If Chandr be stronger than Lagna, profession indicated for Chandr should be predicted, that is, native would acquire wealth through his skill in the use of language, by trading, by proficiency in various arts etc.
Sloka 99. If Surya be stronger than Lagna and Chandr, native would earn his livelihood by pursuing several occupations. If Mangal be strongest Graha and be posited in 10th from Lagna or Chandr, native would earn his livelihood by pursuing base occupations and would remain in his native place, but if he goes abroad he would indulge in sensual pleasures.
Sloka 100. - 101. If Budh be placed in 10th Bhava, similarly with reference to Chandr and Lagna, native would be at the head of many concerns and would be good in earning money through his knowledge of arts and political compositions. If Guru be posited in 10th Bhava with the same disposition, native would enjoy great prosperity and special greatness and he would be virtuous. When Sukr be similarly posited, native would be a successful man, would have decent earnings, would be liked by the king (or government), would lead a comfortable life and would possess knowledge of various arts. If Sani be in same position, native would have evil disposition, weakness of body, and would suffer badly on account of prolonged litigation.
Sloka 102. - 103. There would be acquisition of wealth from: (1) father if Surya be posited in 10th Bhava, (2) mother if Chandr be so placed, (3) enemies if Mangal be in 10th, (4) friend if Budh be there, (5) brother if Guru be in 10th, (6) wife if Sukr be in 10th, (7) inferior if Sani be posited in 10th. The earning could also be by means of profession prescribed for the ruler of Navamsa occupied by Graha owning 10th place from Lagna, Surya or Chandr. If such Lord is Surya, native would earn his livelihood by dealing in gold, medicine etc. If Navamsa belongs to Chandr, the livelihood would be by taking up agricultural pursuits, dealing in food materials and things taken out from water (pearls, ash etc.). If Mangal be Lord of Navamsa, native would earn his living by doing violent acts. He may be in the police or army or be a surgeon or a butcher. If Budh rules Navamsa, livelihood would be earned by working as a writer, poet, orator or as an artist. If Lord of Navamsa be Guru, native's means of earning would be by engaging in religious acts. If Sukr be ruler of Navamsa, money would be earned through sale or purchase of jewelry or through women and beautiful objects. If Sani be Lord of Navamsa, native would earn his livelihood by undesirable means.
Sloka 104. Profession of native would generally be that indicated by Graha owning Navamsa occupied by Lord of 10th from Lagna, Chandr or Surya, whichever be strongest. Native would gain wealth, land, comforts and fame, if Grahas placed in 10th, Lagna and 2nd Bhava be benefics and endowed with Shadvarga strength.

If Chandr be there, the man digs wells and succeeds in getting sacrifices and other rites performed. Sloka 109. If Rahu and Sani be in 11th, native would have the mark of a blow from a wooden article. If 11th Bhava be aspected by malefics, native is likely to be bitten by a dog or other wild animal. If Rahu be in 11th, native would have no son in his youth but if by some fortune he gets a son in his old age, that son would survive. If Surya with Shadvarga strength be posited in 11th, native would earn plenty of money through king (or government), thieves, animals etc.
Sloka 111. If various Grahas posited in 11th Bhava be endowed with full strength, i.e. Vargabala, they would give beneficial results according to their nature and qualities. Ancients learned in astrology have advised that results should be declared after assessing the strength and all merits and demerits of Grahas posited in 11th and of Bhava owned by them.
Sloka 112. If 11th Bhava be aspected by benefics and be in Vargas of benefic, the gain derived by native would be substantial, if even one Graha endowed with full Shadvarga strength be posited in 11th and be aspected by all other Grahas, native would become a king.

Effects described by him are in accordance with what has been said in ancient texts. Therefore, there should be no confusion in the mind of readers. In Slokas now to follow, effects of Grahas in certain Avasthas as a result of (1) Grahas occupying particular Bhava and (2) of aspect received by them from other Grahas in a birth chart, would be described.

Sloka 35. If Mangal being in Prakasha Avastha be posited in [?] or 5th Bhava, native would have to suffer the loss of his wife and children. If in this disposition, Mangal be aspected by a malefic, native would indulge in sinful acts. If Budh being in Netrapani Avastha, be posited in 5th Bhava, a son of native would die and a daughter born to him. Native is likely to get daughters, if Budh in Sabha Avastha be placed in 7th or 5th Bhava.

Sloka 1. Author indicates in this Sloka that he is now going to describe effects derived from various Bhavas in a birth chart, on the lines of principles laid down in Samhitas (treatise) compiled by great ancient Sages. According to views of ancient learned, strength of a Graha goes on increasing according as it be posited in its enemy, neutral, friendly, own or exaltation Rasi.
Sloka 2. If in Adhana Lagna chart, or in query chart, a male Graha with adequate strength be posited in a benefic Varga - Rasi, Hora, Drekkana etc., it is to be declared that child to be born would be a male. If such Graha be a female one, it should be predicted that child to be born would be female. If Graha in question be impotent, child to be born would also be so. If Graha in question be in a dual Rasi, the forecast should be of the twin birth.
Sloka 3. If there is a query as to when child would be born, we have to proceed as follows: find out how many Navamsas have been traversed by the strongest Graha, at the time of query. If Chandr be in bright half of the month, it should be predicted that birth would take place in as many months as are indicated by the number of Navamsas passed by Graha in Rasi concerned. The number of months would be twice the number of such Navamsas if Chandr at the time of query be in dark half of the month. Or, period spent in the womb would be as many months as the number of Navamsas risen in Lagna at the time of query.
Sloka 4. If Grahas capable of giving birth to child be in 6th, 8th or in Rasi owned by an enemy Graha and be associated or aspected by malefics posited in 6th, 8th, or Rasi owned by enemy Grahas, pregnancy would end in abortion. This is likely to happen in the month (after conception) indicated by the number of Navamsas travelled by the said Graha in Rasi occupied by it. It may be possible to prevent this tragedy by remedial measures recommended in Shastras.
Sloka 5. In that particular part of the body signified by Rasi occupied by Surya and which has been described as forming the head and other portions of Kalapurusha should be declared the existence of a mark, a mole or spot. If Graha which occupies Rasi be Mangal, the mark would be caused through fire. In case of Rahu, it would be through wood, stone etc. Sani would give the mark or spot through a metal and the mark or spot caused on account of Guru occupying a Rasi, would be a beneficial one.
Sloka 6. If 2, 3 or 4 malefics of which Budh is one be posited together in one Rasi, there would be in that part of body a scar caused by an ulcer. Native would be humpbacked if Chandr in a birth chart be posited in a Navamsa or Drekkana occupied by a malefic and be aspected by Surya. Native would be lame if Chandr be in Surya's Hora and receives aspect of Sani. Native would be one-eyed if, in birth chart, 12th and 2nd Bhava be inhabited by Sukr and Mangal jointly or separately and be aspected by Surya and Chandr.
Sloka 7. Native would be of short stature if (1) Lagna be Vrischika and Surya in 10th, (2) Chandr be in Makara and aspected by Mangal and Surya, (3) Lord of Lagna Bhava and aspected by Sani be associated with Chandr in 2nd; (4) Lord of 9th Bhava be associated with Chandr in 2nd Bhava and aspected by Sani.
Sloka 8. If in a birth chart (a) 7th Bhava be badly disposed and its Lord be a malefic, and (b) Lagna be badly disposed and its Lord be a malefic, it should be declared that wife of native would have ugly looking « Sanketanidhi by Rama Deyalu

marks on her body, (2) it could be predicted that mother of native would have ugly looking marks on her body if Lagna, its Lord and 4th Bhava and its Lord be disposed in the same manner as in (1) above, (3) same could be predicted about the sister of native if 9th Bhava and Lord of 3rd Bhava are also malefics.
Sloka 9. Wife of native would speak harshly and flare up quickly if Lord of 7th be a malefic. She would be of kind nature and speak sweetly if Lord of 7th be a benefic. The partner (wife or business partner) would be dishonest and having evil intentions, if Chandr and Sani be together in 7th from Lagna.
Sloka 10. Mother of native would be unchaste, if Lord of 4th is a malefic Graha and Lord of 7th and Lagna are benefics. It should be predicted that wife of native would be of loose morals if Lords of 10th and 7th are malefics and those of 1st and 4th are benefics.
Sloka 11. Effects of a Graha would be felt in the beginning, middle or concluding portion of its major period in accordance with its position in 1st, 2nd or 3rd Drekkana of Rasi in which it is posited. What method of period-reckoning should be observed should be decided by astrologer himself according to the directions of Shastras.
Sloka 12. - 14. Illegitimate births would take place in following dispositions: (1) when 4th Bhava remains unaspected or an enemy Graha be placed in 4th or aspects it, (2) when Lagna be unaspected by any Graha or be occupied by Lords of 2nd, 3rd, 5th or 6th Bhava, (3) when a malefic be in Lagna, a benefic in 7th and Sani in 10th, (4) when Chandr be in Lagna and 3rd Bhava be occupied by Mangal and Sukr, (5) when Lagna be inhabited by Mangal and Rahu and 7th be occupied by Chandr and Sukr, (6) when 4 Kendras be vacant and all Grahas be posited in 2nd, 12th, 8th and 6th Bhava, (7) when Lagna has no Varga of Guru or if Lagna or Chandr does not receive aspect from Guru, (8) when Lords of Lagna and 7th Lord be together in a fixed Rasi, (9) when Lagna, 10th or 4th Bhava be occupied by Chandr along with a malefic, (10) when Lagna be not aspected either by its Lord or a benefic Graha. Wife of native would enter into illicit relations with persons other than her husband, if Sukr be posited in 9th Bhava along with Chandr.
Sloka 15. Now effects of Lords of Lagna and other Bhavas when posited in different Bhava: 1st Bhava - strong and well-built body, would be able to accomplish mighty things by his own efforts and the strength of his arms. He would be unsteady but would have no fear. He would also be broadminded. He might be having 2 wives and still be of loose morals.
Sloka 16. 2nd Bhava - native would be wealthy, learned, and possessing many good qualities. He would be of good moral character, restless, famous and do pious deeds. He would be issueless although he may have more than 1 wife.

Sloka 103. Grahas placed at the beginning of a Rasi produce effects beneficial or malefic in accordance with their association with or aspect by benefic or malefic Grahas and not at the end of Rasi. All these principles are based on those contained in Samhitas (text) written by ancient astrologers.
Sloka 104. Thus comes to close Samhita Sanketa containing the essence extracted from various Samhitas - 6th of Sanketanidhi - a work written by Rama Dayalu, astrologer, for the benefit of Ghasi Ram Sharma, son of his eldest brother, so that he may become proficient in astrology. End of 6th Sanketa.
Sloka 1. In this Sanketa author deals with certain effects, good or bad, which according to him have been described by our ancient Sages and which are not generally found in other works. Author advises that in a birth chart all 12 Bhavas should be critically examined by astrologers and only then the result should be declared.

Sloka 5. Various kinds of difficulties, sufferings, caused obstacles by the enemy, imprisonment etc. should be considered from 12th Bhava by the pundits in astrology. In this connection all effects mentioned in previous Sanketas should also be kept in mind when effects of a Bhava are analyzed. The disposition of 2 Bhavas on each side of said Bhava, 2nd Bhava, Lagna and 12th from each of them should also be taken into account as they also influence the results. Effects are also influenced as a result of aspect on Bhava from Grahas in debilitation, exaltation, own Rasis etc.
Sloka 6. Following points have also to be taken into consideration. (1) When Lord of a Bhava be posited in its Rasi of debilitation he cannot be expected to yield favorable results, (2) when a Graha in its Rasi of exaltation be associated with a Graha in debilitation, it would give only medium results, (3) when a Graha in its debilitation Rasi be associated with one in exaltation, it would also give medium results.
Sloka 7. When a Graha aspects fully a Bhava, effects would be realized in the year signified by the number of Rasi owned by that Graha counted from Lagna. Effects should be predicted in accordance with this principle for native's whole life by the addition of as many 12-year periods as may be necessary.
Sloka 8. If effects of any Graha posited at the beginning of a Rasi become manifest in early years of the life of native, astrologers should predict, after assessing the strength of Graha, that such effects would be available only in early life. If such Graha be posited at the end of a Rasi, very ordinary or no results could be expected. Avasthas (postures) of Grahas at birth should also be taken into account while declaring effects of such Grahas. According to author, such secrets of science of astrology can be known only by devotion to the preceptor.
Sloka 9. If Lord of a Bhava be associated with a malefic Graha, occupies a Dusthana, Rasi owned by an inimical Graha or its Rasi of debilitation and Bhava be also weak, good effects of that Bhava would be completely lost. Effect would be middling if Lord of Bhava be posited in a neutral position. Lords of Kendras and Trikonas are capable of producing very beneficial results but they would be powerless to yield good results if posited in 2nd or 12th Bhava to each other and be associated with malefics.
Sloka 10. Find out position of Chandr 3 days before the day of birth. If at that time Chandr was strong and was associated with or aspected by benefics, it should be predicted that 3rd year of life of native would prove favorable to him. The result would be quite opposite if Chandr was weak and associated with or aspected by malefics.
Sloka 11. Similarly we can declare in respect of 7th, 10th or 4th year of life of native by finding out disposition and strength of Chandr 7, 10 or 4 days prior to the day of birth of native.

Sloka 12. If we add the number indicated by Graha to the number of Bhava in which it be placed, the total would signify the year (since birth) in which effect of Graha would be realized. Similarly, if we multiply 2 numbers, the product of the two would indicate in which year effect of Graha would come to pass. For example, if we add the number of Rasi in which Lagna be posited to the number of Rasi in which Lagna Lord be placed, or if we multiply 2 numbers the total and the product would indicate the year (since birth) in which results of Lagna Lord would be experienced by native. If Lords of Lagna and Bhava occupied by him be mutual friends, effects would come off more accurately.
Sloka 13. If Grahas strong during night time be placed in night Rasis and Grahas strong during day time if placed in day Rasis, with Lord of Lagna posited in visible half, all difficulties of native would be solved and he would be happy and comfortable.
Sloka 14. Native may expect auspicious results if Lord of Lagna and Lord of Rasi occupied by Chandr be not associated with or aspected by malefics. Sani being in its Rasi of debilitation or inimical Rasi, if posited in 4th, 10th or 5th, would not yield favorable results.
Sloka 15. If a malefic Graha be associated with or aspected by a benefic, it would be auspicious during its transit in several Bhavas indicated in Gochara (transit) and Ashtakavarga (eight-fold divisions). Similarly a Graha, though he may be benefic in Gochara and Ashtakavarga may give inauspicious results if he be associated with or aspected by a malefic. If birth chart or Rasi chart (Janma Kundali) be strong, effect has to be expected at commencement of every 12-year cycle. Effect would be felt in the year denoted by 30year cycle if Navamsa be strong.
Sloka 16. Native is likely to suffer from a terrible venereal disease on account of illicit sexual relations, if Lord of 7th Bhava be not a benefic Graha, be not posited in a Rasi owned by a benefic and be not associated with or aspected by a benefic and at the same time 7th Bhava be under malefic influence. Effects of other Bhavas, Grahas etc. are to be assessed in a similar manner, and by favor of Almighty obtained through devotion. End of 7th Sanketa.
Sloka 1. Author in this Sanketa writes about Itthashala and other combinations which are useful in answering queries. Some other combinations found correct in practical experience have also been described in this Sanketa.
Sloka 2. If a Graha with faster movement goes ahead of another with slower motion during transit and throws a benefic aspect over it, and when Grahas are brilliant, the power of faster Graha is transmitted to slower Graha. This disposition is called Itthashala Yoga.
Sloka 3. If faster Graha is deficient by a minute in Rasi in which it is placed than slower Graha, Itthashala Yoga is complete. If however, faster Graha has travelled more than this limit, or is behind this limit, Itthashala « Sanketanidhi by Rama Deyalu

Yoga is not formed. If faster Graha travels away a degree or more than slower one, Musaripha Yoga would be formed, which does not give beneficial results.
Sloka 4. If there is no aspect formed between Lord of Lagna and Lord of Bhava about which query has been raised and there is a Graha in between them which is receiving aspect from both Grahas, then this inbetween Graha would take away extra brilliance from faster Graha and pass it on to one which is in front of it. This is called Nakta Yoga and it is a benefic one.
Sloka 5. In the case of 3 Grahas mentioned in previous Sloka, if in-between Graha is slower than both of other two and is aspected by both of them, it becomes more brilliant in its rays, and by taking extra brilliance of the quicker one gives the same to slower one. This is called Yamaya Yoga.
Sloka 6. When there is Itthashala Yoga between Lord of Lagna and Bhava to which query relates, if Chandr also forms Itthashala Yoga with them, Kambula Yoga is formed. The learned are of the view that there are many kinds of Kambula Yoga due to varying influence of the rays of these Grahas.
Sloka 7. Grahas posited in Poorva Chakra (invisible half of zodiac) give effect which can be felt. Those in Apara Chakra (visible half) are not of such nature.
Sloka 8. In the case of a moveable Rasi, 3 Drekkanas would be in their order good, mixed and bad. In the case of a dual Rasi, order would be reversed. In a fixed Rasi, they will be bad, good and mixed.
Sloka 9. - 11. Success in the proposed venture would definitely result in the following combinations if there be aspect of Chandr on them: (1) when Lagna Lord aspects it and Lord of Bhava to which query relates, aspects Bhava concerned, (2) Lagna Lord aspects Bhava concerned and Lord of that Bhava aspects Lagna, (3) Lagna Lord posited in Bhava concerned aspects Lord of that Bhava, and Lord of that Bhava posited in Lagna aspects Lagna Lord, (4) Lagna Lord and Lord of that Bhava aspect each other, (5) Lagna Lord be in Lagna and Lord of Bhava concerned in that Bhava, (6) Lagna Lord be in Bhava concerned and Lord of that Bhava be in Lagna and they do not aspect each other, (7) if Lagna Lord and Lord of Bhava concerned be together in Lagna or that Bhava, (8) when at the time of query or birth Lagna Lord and Lord of Bhava concerned be so associated together that they fill in same Drekkana, same Hora or same Navamsa. In all these cases effect would be in proportion to the strength of Grahas concerned.
Sloka 12. In query chart, the subject of query would be in accordance with indication of Grahas concerned as given below: Mangal - about self Guru - about wife or some other woman Chandr - about mother Budh - about brothers Sukr - about family Rahu or Sani - about enemies Surya - about father.
Sloka 13. In this Sloka guidance has been given to find out the subject which querist has in mind. We should first find out who between Lagna Lord and 11th Lord is stronger in Shadbala. We should then note the position of Chandr as reckoned from the stronger Graha. Querist may be said to be thinking about the matter pertaining to Bhava in which Chandr be posited.
Sloka 14. Querist may have that subject in his mind which is concerned with: (1) Bhava with Lord of which Chandr is in Itthashala Yoga, (2) Bhava whose Lord is in Itthashala Yoga with Lagna Lord, or (3) Bhava of the strongest Graha among (a) Chandr, (b) a strong Graha, and (c) that occupied by Lagna Lord. « Sanketanidhi by Rama Deyalu

Sloka 15. If at the time of query, a strong Surya together with Mangal be in Kendra or they aspect a Kendra, querist would be thinking of a mineral. If Sani and Budh be both strong and posited in a Kendra or aspect a Kendra, querist would be thinking of a plant or a root. When Chandr, Guru and Sukr be posited in a Kendra or if they aspect a Kendra, querist would have a living creature in mind. The surmise would come out more accurately, when the Kendra happens to be Lagna itself.
Sloka 16. A-Varga, Ka-Varga, Cha-Varga, Ta-Varga, Tha-Varga, Pa-Varga, Ya-Varga, Sha-Varga, are respectively Vargas owned by Surya, Mangal, Sukr, Budh, Guru, Sani and Chandr (Chandr owns Pa-Varga and ShaVarga). If first letter of query happens to be odd or even one of a group and if that group be owned by a Graha owning 2 Bhavas (Rasis), the odd or even Rasi of that Graha should be taken as Lagna.
Sloka 17. On a cloudy day Lagna has to be settled through the letters coming out of the lips of querist. In any query these letters carry with them auspicious or inauspicious effects according as the letters happen to belong to odd or even group of the 8 groups mentioned in previous Sloka. These 8 groups correspond to the following eight forms: (1) Banna, (2) smoke, (3) lion, (4) dog, (5) cow, (6) donkey, (7) elephant, (8) crow. Out of these Banna, lion and elephant are auspicious. The even one's are inauspicious.
Sloka 18. If a Bhava has on one of its sides Lord of Bhava and on the other a benefic friendly Graha thus forming a benefic Durdhura Yoga and if 7th Bhava reckoned from this Bhava has a benefic Graha not associated with a malefic, auspicious results of Bhava get augmented. If Guru aspected by Chandr in Lagna or when all Grahas be in biped Rasis, good results may be expected.
Sloka 19. If at the time of putting query, querist unintentionally touches his thumb, ear, face, breasts, hand, nostrils, loin, shoulder, sole of the foot, temple, head, genital or lips, and talks or hears of his object, querist would definitely meet with success in his cherished desires.
Sloka 20. There are 12 Avasthas of Chandr according to Rasi occupied by it. They are as under: Mesha
Marga (way)
Vrishabha
Kshati (injury)
Mithuna
Mriti (death)
Karkataka
Jaya (victory)
Simha
Hasita (laughter)
Kanya
Rati (sexual pleasure)
Thula
Kreeda (play)
Vrischika
Prasupti (sleepiness)
Dhanur
Bhuji (eating)
Makara
Roga (sickness)
Kumbha
Chain (moving)
Meena
Sthira (still)
Results of Avasthas would be according to the meanings conveyed by these words. These are useful to find out an auspicious time for undertaking a journey and for Prasna Kundalis.

Sloka 21. If we count from Rasi occupied by Surya up to Lagna (Prasna Lagna), and get an odd number, the result would be favorable, if such number be even, unfavorable. Another method of finding out the result quickly is to count the number of letters emanating from querist's mouth. This number may be multiplied by 2 and product divided by 3. If the remainder be 1, it would be auspicious. The result would be unfavorable if the remainder be 0 or 2.
Sloka 22. If at the time of a query benefics be posited in Kendras and Trikonas and malefics in Bhava 3, 6 and 11, and Lagna of query chart falls in a Shirshodaya Rasi, i.e. Rasi rising by head (Mithuna, Simha, Kanya, Vrischika and Kumbha), success in the matter under reference would be assured. Another method of finding out instantly the result of query is to count the number of letters coming out of the mouth of querist. This number should be multiplied by 6 and 8 be added to the product. The sum so arrived at should then be divided by 7. If the remainder is 2, 4, 5 or 6, good and favorable results (success in undertaking under reference or consideration) should be declared by astrologer.
Sloka 23. If there be malefics in Bhava 6, 7 and 8 from Prasna Lagna, querist would suffer loss of wealth, distress, would suffer from diseases and on account of enemies also. If Lord of Prasna Lagna be associated with malefics then also the results would be the same and native would lost peace of mind.
Sloka 24. If at the time of query whether marriage would take place or not, a strong Chandr be posited in 7th, 6th, 2nd, 3rd, 10th, or 11th Bhava from Lagna, and be also aspected by a strong Guru, it should be predicted that querist would get a beautiful girl in marriage without any effort. If, however, Chandr be associated with or aspected by malefics and posited in 4th, 1st, 5th, 9th, 8th or 12th, there would be impediments.
Sloka 25. If in a query chart, a strong Chandr be posited in 7th, 6th, 3rd, 10th or 11th and aspected by Surya, Budh and Guru, native would get in marriage a very beautiful girl whom he loves very much. The same would be the result if (1) 12th Lord in Lagna and Lagna Lord in 12th, (2) 7th Lord and Lagna Lord exchange places, (3) if Sukr and Chandr be in their even or exaltation Rasis.
Sloka 26. Querist would get a beautiful girl in marriage if either of the following combinations exists in query chart: (1) Lagna falls in Vrishabha, Thula or Karkataka and is associated with or aspected by benefics, (2) strong Chandr and Sukr are posited in even Rasis and even Navamsas and aspect Lagna.
Sloka 27. If Chandr be in 8th, 6th or 1st and malefics be posited in 7th to Lagna or Chandr, the married girl becomes a widow 8 years after her marriage. If 5th Bhava from Prasna Lagna be occupied by a malefic and is aspected by inimical Grahas, is also in its debilitation Rasi, married girl would develop illicit relations with other men or would become barren.
Sloka 28. If at the time of query it is dark half of the lunar month and Chandr aspected by malefics be in 6th or 8th Bhava, querist would have no marriage. If Chandr and Sukr be both associated with malefics, first wife would die soon after marriage. If Lord of 7th be in 12th, 6th, 9th or 1st, and associated with malefics or if Lord of 7th be in its debilitation Rasi and associated with malefics, first wife would die soon after marriage.

Sloka 29. If there be a query about safe delivery in the case of a pregnant woman, Janma Rasi (Rasi in which Chandr be posited) of child to be born would be 5th or 7th Rasi from the position of Chandr in query chart. It may also be 5th or 7th Rasi reckoned from Navamsa Rasi occupied by Chandr in query chart. When Chandr transits Rasi owned by Lord of Navamsa, delivery may take place.
Sloka 30. If at the time of query, Lords of 5th Bhava and Lagna be posited in even Rasis, the issue would be a girl. If they occupy odd Rasis, child would be a boy. If Lords of Lagna and Rasi occupied by Chandr be in 5th Bhava, it is to be predicted that the fetus is safe in the womb.
Sloka 31. If there be a query from a personas to when his wife would conceive, the position of Mangal and Sukr should be considered, as Mangal is blood and Sukr is semen. Answer should be that conception would take place in the year when Mangal and Sukr with adequate strength are conjoined in 1st or 5th Bhava. If Mangal and Sani be together in Lagna, the fetus would be destroyed. Same would be the result if Chandr be posited in Rasi of Mangal or Sani and aspected by Mangal or Sani.
Sloka 32. If there be a query whether child to be born would be male or female, the answer that a male issue would be born can be given if Sani occupies Navamsa of a biped Rasi. It would not be so if Sani be in this disposition in Lagna. A male issue would be born if Sani be in a biped Rasi and aspected by a male Graha. In all other cases the issue would be female. A male issue would be born if Guru and Surya be posited in an odd Bhava from Prasna Lagna. If Mangal, Chandr and Sukr with adequate strength be posited in an even Bhava, the issue to be born would be female.
Sloka 33. Another method of finding out whether child to be born would be male or female is by ascertaining the number indicated by letters constituting the name of pregnant woman. The number of Tithi on the date of query may be added to the name number. 15 may be added to this sum and the result divided by 9. If the remainder be even, the issue would be female, if odd, male.
Sloka 34. If there be a query whether a journey would be undertaken or not, and if so, when, the answer would be that journey would be performed soon if Prasna Lagna falls in a moveable Rasi owned by a benefic. Similar prediction should be made if query be about someone coming. If Lagna falls in a fixed Rasi, there would neither be a journey nor a return. If Lagna falls in a dual Rasi, indication would be that there may be a journey and return. However, in all cases the answer should be affirmative, if a strong Chandr aspects Prasna Lagna.
Sloka 35. If at the time of query a malefic Graha occupies 1st, 7th or 10th, results would not be favorable. If query be as to when a person who has gone abroad would return home, his safe return may be predicted if Guru and Sukr be in 2nd and 3rd Bhava. He would return very soon if Guru and Sukr be in 2nd or 3rd. If Guru and Sukr be in 4th and aspected by a strong Chandr, safe return of the traveler may be predicted.
Sloka 36. - 37. Prasna Lagna falls in a moveable Rasi and one of 4 Grahas - Sani, Budh, Sukr (all in direct motion) and Surya be in Lagna, querist would set out on his journey soon. If Prasna Lagna falls in a fixed Rasi and Sani and Guru occupy or aspect Lagna, querist would not start on his journey. The same would be the result if in first mentioned disposition, Sani, Budh or Sukr be retrograde in motion.

Sloka 38. If there be no malefics in Kendras and no other malefic influence on them, Bhava 11, 10 and 1 be occupied by benefics, and Chandr be in 8th, the traveler who has gone abroad would safely return home and with some gain.
Sloka 39. If 7th or 6th Bhava be occupied by a Graha and Guru posited in a Kendra, traveler who has gone abroad, would return home. If Sukr and Budh be in 9th or 5th and Chandr in 7th in a moveable Rasi, it should be predicted that the traveler is on his way home.
Sloka 40. Traveler should be said to be ill if Sani associated or aspected by malefics be in 9th Bhava. The same would be result if Surya and Chandr aspected by Sani be in 8th. There should not be much cause for anxiety if 8th Bhava be aspected by powerful benefics. Presence of Budh and Sukr in 8th is auspicious for the traveler but Mangal and Sani in 8th give unfavorable results.
Sloka 41. The return of person who has gone away from his home should be predicted if Lord of 7th Bhava from Prasna Lagna be retrograde in motion. The return would be in a month in which retrograde motion begins. Another method to determine the time of return is to take into account distance between strongest Graha in query chart and Lagna. The return would be in as many months as there be Rasis between Lagna and the strongest Graha. Actual number of days that may elapse before return of the traveler would be indicated by the product of the number denoting Bhava (counted from Lagna) occupied by the strongest Graha and 12.
Sloka 42. If at the time of query Surya and Chandr be in 4th, neither the traveler nor his rival would return. If Budh, Guru and Sukr be in 4th, both the traveler and his rival would return. If Prasna Lagna falls in a fixed Rasi and Chandr be posited in a dual Rasi, the rival would return. If Lagna be in a fixed Rasi and Chandr in a moveable Rasi, it should be predicted that ill rival would come back.
Sloka 43. If at the time of query, all Grahas be placed in 2nd, 3rd and 5th Bhava, it should be declared that person who has been away for a long time would return home. If benefics be posited in these Bhavas, lost or stolen property would be recovered. If Guru and Sukr be posited in any of above Bhava it should be concluded that traveler and his rival would come back soon. Same should be predicted if strong Grahas be posited in Panaphara Bhava (2, 5, 8, 11).
Sloka 44. If Sani occupies 9th from Prasna Lagna together with malefics, the traveler should be declared to be ill. If Sani associated with or aspected by malefics be placed in 8th, illness would prove fatal. If Surya associated or aspected by benefics be posited in 8th, traveller should be said to have gone to other countries.
Sloka 45. The return of person away from his home or his rival would be in as many days as would be signified by the number of Bhavas intervening between Lagna and Bhava in which Chandr is placed (there being no other Graha between these 2 Bhavas). Benefics in 2nd, [10th ?], 1st and 5th would prove auspicious. Not Chandr but a benefic in 1st would prove good.
Sloka 46. Let us find out the number of letters that have come out of the lips of querist. That number may be multiplied by 6 and 1 may be added to the product. The sum so arrived at may be divided by 7. Effects to « Sanketanidhi by Rama Deyalu

be declared about person who has gone away from his home would be as follows as the remainder is from 1 to 7: 1 - traveler is anxious to return, 2 - he is now half way, 3 - he is coming back soon, 4 - he is coming back with gains, 5 - he is sick, 6 - He is in distress, 7 - he is making efforts to come back. If Lord of 2nd Bhava be not in retrograde motion, the traveler should be said to be quite safe.
Sloka 47. Let us note the figure of Yatra Lagna, i.e. Lagna at which person originally started on his journey. These figures be multiplied by the number indicated by degrees intervening between Prasna Lagna and position of Chandr. The product be then divided by 30. The quotient would indicate exact time in days, Ghaties etc. at which person away from home would return.
Sloka 48. If there be a strong malefic in Prasna Lagna, querist would win. If there be a malefic in 7th Bhava, querist would loose and put to loss. If there be a benefic in Lagna, querist would lose. He would win if there be a benefic in 7th Bhava. The result would be reversed if we take into account aspects of benefics and malefics on Lagna and 7th Bhava. If Lagna be aspected by benefics, the result would be favorable to querist. Aspect of malefics on Lagna would bring out unfavorable results for querist. Similarly, aspects of benefic on 7th Bhava would be unfavorable and of malefics favorable for him.
Sloka 49. 6 Bhavas beginning from 3rd Bhava from Prasna Lagna relate to the citizens of town. If benefics be posited in these Bhavas, they indicate success to the town. 6 Bhavas beginning from 9th belong to Sthayi class. Benefics placed in these Bhavas bring success to that party. If all benefics occupy 1st, 10th, 7th and 9th Bhava, Sthayi becomes powerful and capable of destroying the enemy.
Sloka 50. If Mangal and Sani be placed in 9th Bhava, there would be complete defeat for Sthayi people. If all malefics be posited in 10th, 11th and 12th Bhava, there would be defeat for Sthayi people. If 3 benefics, viz. Sukr, Budh and Guru be in Lagna, they would bring about success for Sthayi class. If Surya, Sani, Chandr, Rahu and Mangal be all in 7th Bhava, they would also bring about success to Sthayi people.
Sloka 51. If out of 5 Grahas mentioned in the last portion of previous Sloka, 3 or more occupy Lagna, they would cause defeat and loss to Sthayi people. If they be benefics, it indicates good for these people. If these Grahas be placed in 10th and 4th Bhava, a compromise would be reached between the two parties. Same result would follow when Lagna be in a male Rasi or benefic be posited in 1st, 11th and 12th Bhava. If malefics be posited in Kendras in dual Rasis, there would be declaration of war.
Sloka 52. If there be a query about success or defeat, and Lagna be Mesha, Vrishabha, Simha, Kanya, Dhanur, Makara, Vrischika or Kumbha, success may be predicted for querist. This result would become more definite when a strong benefic occupies or aspects Lagna.
Sloka 53. If at the time of query about the theft of an article Prasna Lagna and Navamsa fall in a fixed Rasi, it should be predicted that the article has been stolen by some relation of querist who is in same house or living nearby and not by an outsider and that article is hidden at some place in house or near it. If Lagna and Navamsa fall in a moveable Rasi, it should be said that article has been stolen by a person not related to querist but known to him and it has been taken away to a distant place. If Lagna and Navamsa fall in a dual Rasi, prediction should be that theft has been committed by an outsider not unknown to querist and has been kept at a place which is neither far nor near. The direction of the place where stolen property has been kept would be signified by the position of Chandr, i.e. if Chandr be in Lagna it would be East, if in 10th it would be south, if in 7th it would be West, and if in 4th it would be North. « Sanketanidhi by Rama Deyalu

Sloka 54. If at the time of query Lagna receives aspect from Surya and Chandr, the thief would be a relation of querist. If Lords of Lagna and 7th Bhava be in Lagna, thief would be a member of the family of querist. If Lord of 7th be posited in 12th or 3rd Bhava, thief would be a paid servant living nearby. If at the time of query querist stretches out his hand, thief should be said to be a person not connected with his family. If he keeps his hands down, thief would be one belonging to the family of querist.
Sloka 55. If at the time of query Lagna falls in a moveable Rasi, the name of thief would be made up of 2 letters, if Lagna he in a fixed Rasi, the name would be of 4 letters and if Lagna be in a dual Rasi, the name would contain 3 letters. If Lord of 7th be posited in its own or exaltation Rasi, thief would be an expert one. The age, caste, birth etc. of the thief would be similar to that declared for Lord of Lagna.
Sloka 56. Stolen article would be recovered if any of the following combination exists in query chart: (1) full Chandr with adequate strength be in Lagna aspected by Guru and Sukr, (2) Lagna falls in a Sheershodaya Rasi with a benefic posited in it, (3) 3rd, 2nd, [11th ?] Bhava from Prasna Lagna are occupied by benefics, (4) benefics are posited in 4th, 7th and 10th Bhava.
Sloka 57. Gains of wealth are given by Lord of 11th and Lord of Lagna, if beneficiary there would be abundant gains of wealth if Lords of Lagna and 11th be together and receive aspect of Chandr. The direction from which gains may be expected would depend on strongest Graha posited in a Kendra or direction signified by Rasi of Lagna. The form, appearance etc. may be ascertained through Drekkana in which Lagna falls at the time of query.
Sloka 58. - 60. All the cherished desires of querist would be fulfilled if Lords of 10th and Lagna possess adequate strength and Chandr with similar strength be related to stronger between above 2 Grahas. To ascertain the time limit for the fulfillment of desires, longitude of Surya may be deducted from longitude of Chandr. Then we may find out the star indicated by the remainder and add 1 star to this and the number in days assigned to that particular star in the statement given below for 27 stars reckoned from Aswini. Another method of finding out the time limit is as follows. Longitude of Lagna may be deducted from longitude of 10th Bhava. If longitude of 10th be smaller, 12 Rasis may be added to it. The remainder should be converted into degrees and be trebled. Result should be divided by 60. The remainder would indicate the number of days for accomplishment of the object in case Lagna be in a moveable Rasi. If Lagna be in a fixed Rasi, the number got above should be doubled. If in a dual Rasi, the number should be trebled.
Sloka 61. Another method of calculating the time is as follows: number of Navamsas that have risen in Lagna would denote the period required, the unit of time taken being Ayana - that year, Kshana - second, Dina day, Ritu - season, Masa - month, Paksha - fortnight and Abda - year, according as Lord of Navamsa in question happens to be Surya, Chandr, Mangal, Budh, Guru, Sukr and Sani respectively. That is, if Simha be rising Navamsa, that time indicated would be 4 Ayanas and odd or a period between 24 and 30 months and so on. Or, it would be as many units as measured by the number of Navamsas traversed by Lord of rising Navamsa from Lagna Navamsa, the unit taken being the one appropriate to Graha owning rising Navamsa. End of 8th Sanketa.

Sloka 1. If at the time of query, Lagna falls in Hora of Surya, querist would not enjoy happiness in his childhood. Later by his own efforts he would get a lift in life and become wealthy. If Lagna falls in Hora of Chandr, querist would be happy in his childhood and face difficulties in his later life.
Sloka 2. If Lord of Hora in which Lagna falls at the time of query, be associated with a malefic and a retrograde Graha, the eyes and face of querist would not be good looking. He would have an ugly face with deformed teeth, tongue, lips etc. if Surya and Chandr together or Chandr separately be under the influence of 2 malefics.
Sloka 3. The figure signified by Rasi occupied by Lord of Drekkana in which Lagna falls at the time of query would indicate the number of brothers querist would have. If this Lord of Drekkana be associated with or aspected by benefic, the brothers would be long-lived, otherwise their longevity would be poor. The relationship amongst brothers would depend on the nature of Graha or Grahas associated with above mentioned Lord of Drekkana.
Sloka 4. If Lord of Drekkana be associated with male benefic Grahas, querist would be having brothers, if Graha be male, sister. If Lagna falls in a male Rasi, brothers would be born after him, if it falls in a female Rasi, sisters would be born. If Lord of Lagna and Lord of Drekkana in which Lagna falls be friends, there would be happiness in respect of brothers and sisters. If Lord of Drekkana be in 6th or 8th Bhava from Lord of Lagna, brothers and sisters would suffer from injuries on account of their own deeds.
Sloka 5. If Lord of Drekkana in which Lagna falls at the time of query be in 6th or 8th Bhava and associated with a malefic, querist would die as a result of falling stone or tree. If he survives, he would be hated by his relations. If above Lord of Drekkana be associated with a waning Chandr and a malefic, the body of querist would be fully hairy or he may suffer from some disease of the ear or may have some trouble in his back.
Sloka 6. If the said Lord of Drekkana be posited in 8th Bhava with Surya and Mangal who have adequate strength, native would die through lightening or sun stroke. If the said Lord be associated with Sukr and Guru, native would meet his death by poisoning. If Drekkana Lord be in 6th, there would be a mark or spot in the hands of native.
Sloka 7. Similar conclusions may be arrived at with regard to native's, or querist's family, brothers, relations etc., through malefics occupying the corresponding Drekkana. It is through 22nd Drekkana reckoned from rising one or through its Lord that the death of person concerned and its nature should be determined.
Sloka 8. Birth of male issue and his happiness or prosperity should be predicted if Saptamsa in which Lagna falls at the time of birth or query be an odd one and be occupied by or aspected by benefics. The same would be combination for a female issue if Saptamsa of Lagna falls in an even Rasi. There would be no issue if rising Saptamsa be under malefic influence. This is what wise men say. « Sanketanidhi by Rama Deyalu

Sloka 9. Native or querist would have good fortune to get a beautiful girl with very fine qualities as his life partner, if Lord of Navamsa in which Lagna falls at the time of birth or query, occupies Rasi, Hora, Drekkana, Saptamsa, Navamsa of its own or if it be associated with or aspected by benefic Grahas with adequate strength and without any malefic influence.
Sloka 10. If Lord of Navamsa in which Lagna falls at the time of birth or query be a benefic one and posited in a Kendra, marriage of native or querist would take place at the age of 16 (we should say at an early age). If Lord of such Navamsa be in a Trikona, marriage would take place at the age of 25. If Navamsa of Lagna or Navamsa of 7th Bhava be associated with a malefic Graha, native or querist would not enjoy marital happiness.
Sloka 11. Native or querist would have same good fortune and prosperity as his father, if at birth or at the time of query Lord of Dwadasamsa in which Lagna falls, occupies Lagna. If such Lord of Dwadasamsa be in 6th, 8th or 12th Bhava, native and his parents would not enjoy bodily happiness. If Lord of such Dwadasamsa be posited in 11th, native would get and enjoy hidden wealth of his parents. It would not be so if such Graha be in its debilitation Rasi, eclipsed or malefic.
Sloka 12. If Lord of Trimsamsa in which Lagna falls at the time of birth or query, be a malefic Graha, eclipsed or in its Rasi of debilitation, native would have misunderstanding with his relations. If such Lord of Trimsamsa be in 6th, 8th or 12th Bhava, native may earn displeasure of king / government. If such Graha be associated with a benefic, native would enjoy happiness in every way.
Sloka 13. - 14. Information about following matters is ascertained from various Grahas as under: Surya - own self, vitality, influence, father, etc. Chandr - leanings of the heart, mind, understanding, royal favor, mother, wealth Mangal - own courage, mother, characteristic qualities, lands and happiness Budh - intelligence, speech, religious act, scientific knowledge, and good or bad bringing up Guru - own lands, wealth, clothes, physical development, children, fame, horses etc. Sukr - one's kept women, wife, sexual power, conveyance, enjoyment and marriage Sani - longevity, livelihood, distress and adversity. Predictions should be made by a well-versed astrologer after carefully and intelligently assessing the strength of respective Grahas, and several effects they are capable of producing which have been described above. However, it should be kept in mind that Sani is capable of giving bad results when strong, as compared to other Grahas.
Sloka 15. - 20. In these Slokas author gives a description of his family tree. There lived a famous scholar named Satee Ram who was born in the most respected Gangarha family. He was like Chandr of the ocean. He commanded the respect of Brahmins and king. Even great nobles of the time touched his feet out of reverence for him. Satee Ram had a son named Jyoteeraya who was famous for his good qualities and rose to high status and was recognized for his knowledge and was respected by learned men. Jyoteeraya had a son named Kripa Ram who was learned like his ancestors and was respected by both the rich and the poor. He was capable of solving intricate problems posed by scholars. Kripa Ram had a son named Jaspati Sharma who was also very learned in Shastras. He was inclined towards righteous action and was devoted to god Shiva and goddess Durga. Jaspati Sharma had 4 sons. The eldest of these sons was Ameer Chandra who died in the life time of his father. The son younger to him was Vazir Chandra who was second to none in fame and was a leader amongst learned men. Vazir Chandras next younger brother was Musaddi « Sanketanidhi by Rama Deyalu

Ram who was greatly devoted to Lord Vishnu. The youngest of the brothers was Shri Rama Dayalu who lived in Amritsar. He was a devotee of Shiva, a staunch Advatin and foremost amongst scholars. He composed this work Sanketanidhi - a treasure of indications in Vikram Samvat, 1917 (1860 A.D.). This auspicious work consisting of 9 Sanketas is dedicated with all humility to all who are magnanimous enough not to expose the fault of others and who are inclined to the service of God and so it should be read by those who are modest and humble.
Sloka 21. Thus comes a successful end of the last Sanketa of the work Sanketanidhi, a work composed by Shri Rama Dayalu, for the benefit of Ghasi Ram, son of Vazir Chandra.
