Part 1: Project Problem Evaluation Grand Acres Golf Course (GAGC) have been an ultimate source of entertainment and passion for all its members since 1960 with 3 golf courses within Melbourne. Currently, GAGC has 3000 registered members and each member pay a yearly fee of $2400 with $1000 of joining fee when

they sign up for the first time. The directors of GAGC want to invest in technology to get an efficient automated scoring system. When it comes to sports, we all know that every member who has joined in is an enthusiast of the sport and it is this enthusiasm that drags them to GAGC regardless of how tough their day has been. With all this positive energy of the members, we need to make sure that we give them the services that they deserve while making GAGC a more profit earning venture as well. Currently, the members have to wait a lot for knowing them about their scores on the leader board. This halt is obviously very off putting as we can imagine how important it is for a member to know about their scores without a delay. It can sometimes be very frustrating for a member to keep waiting on to know their scores as they get impatient because of the effort and resources they put into the sport. Moreover, an online social hub is also required as the club house culture is old school and very limited and requires members to be present at the same time in order to have discussions. With an online social hub, every member can be a part of the discussions without time limitations and stay updated with everything going on instantly. With the deployment of an automated leader board system, GAGC is capable of being among one of the top golf courses of Melbourne. With the implementation of the automated system, the business process of GAGC will improve as it will become more efficient and it will obviously have a positive impact on current members and attract new members as well. Moreover, it will also be able to accommodate more members efficiently. Whenever a change is brought about in a system of an organization, the current employees and members of that organization resist to that change because all of them are habitual of the old system and they don’t want to put in effort to learn the new system. It is the part of project management to carry out appropriate tutorials to tell them about the perks and convenience of a new automated system to make it successful. Moreover, it is the duty of the project manager to carry out all sorts of communication and interactions between the stake holders to keep them driven into the right direction as well as to keep them motivated. Also, there are high chances of requirements being changed in between the development process so it is the duty of project manager to deal with them accordingly and find solutions to any limitations and constraints during the project life cycle. The automated system will have a large impact upon the revenue model of GAGC with not only in the shape of attracting new members, but in reducing the staff as well. Moreover, with an online social hub, the number of hours of operation of the club house will also be reduced as members will be able to interact online so the club house do not have to be in operation at all times.
