A General checks: 1 Check the erection of equipment is carried out as per the approved drawings. 2 The equipment is cleaned and insulators are free from.dust/dirt etc. 3 Check that Earthing has been properly done and connected to the earthing grid for the following: a Main Oil Tank b Marshalling box c Cable Boxes (if applicable) d Radiators &Fan motor 4 Check the HV/LVNeutral is grounded properly, connected to two earth pits. 5 Check oil level in : a Main tank b Conservator MOG Plain oil level gauge c HV Cable box (if provided) d LVCable box (if provided) e HV Bushings f LVBushings 6 No oil leakage from tank, conservator, radiator, joints etc. 7 OTI &WTI pockets are filled with oil 8 Check the Explosion vent diaphragm is intact, there is no oil in explosion vent (if provided) 9 Check for fire protection system &emulsifier operation (if provided). 10 Check the oil soak pit and oil sump are cleaned properly. 11 Check for proper locking of rollers onto rails (for roller mounted trafo.). 12 Check test tap caps of Bushing are fully tightened 13 Check the horn gaps (if provided) are adjusted as specified in the manufacturer's drawing.

14 Check following valves are open: a Valves connected between Main tank &conservator. b Valves connected from OLTC to conservator. c All radiator valves. d Main tank to cable box. 15 Check Air is released from following: a All radiators. b Main tank and OLTC Tank cover. c Buchholz relay, Oil surge relay. d All Bushings and bushing pockets. 16 All sampling valves &filtration valves are closed. 17 Airrelease valve &sampling valve of Buchholzrelay is closed. 18 Check Silica gel in the Main & OLTC breather is active/blue in colour. 19 Oil is filled in the oil cup of breather Upto the level marked. 20 Lock of Buchholz relay, oil surge relay and MOG released, kept in Service position. 21 Buchholz relay, Oil Surge relay arrow head is towards Conservator. 22 Unused secondary cores of Bushing CT have been shorted, if provided. 23 Check CT star point is formed correctly and earthed at one end only as per scheme 24 Termination of control cables in Marshalling Box completed as per drawings, 25 Terminals are tightened properly and unused holes of gland plate are sealed properly 26 Cable tags, ferrules are provided, for all cores. 27 Cables are properly dressed and clamped. 28 Check OLTC operation in Local/ Remote Manual &Auto mode through RTCC. 29 Check cooling fan operation in Manual/Auto mode & direction of rotation. 30 For off load tap changer, the tap switch is locked properly in desired tap position.

1 Check the erection of equipment is carried out as per the approved drawings & the earth switch is provided as per the SLD/ layout. 2 The Isolator & Earth switch main contacts are aligned for simultaneous operation of three poles & proper engagement during closing. 3 Check for free movement of arms of Main Contacts during closing & opening of Isolator & Earth switch. 4 Main contacts are cleaned and greased. 5 Check Earth connections from isolator structure to Earth mat. 6 Check Earth switch is connected properly to earth. 7 Check the insulators are cleaned and free from dust/dirt etc. 8 Marshalling Box of Isolator & Earth switch: a Wiring is completed as per the drawing & terminals are tightened. b All the fuses provided are of the rating as shown in drawing c The unused holes on the gland plate are sealed properly. d The cable tags, ferrules for all cores are provided. e Cables are properly dressed and clamped. 9 Check the Clearances for the following a phase to phase b phase to earth 10 Check the phase sequence of power supply of motor. 11 Check the limit switch settings so that there is no over travel of the Main contacts. 12 Check the current drawn by motor is not more than the rated full load current & OIL relay is set for full load current given on motor nameplate. 13 All moving parts of drive mechanism are lubricated. 14 Check for Changeover of Aux. Contacts during open & close operation.

Switch unit of Pole: a Allcontrol cables are terminated as per approved drawing. b The terminal connections are tightened properly c Cable tags, ferrules for cores are providedas per cable schedule 6 Switch cubicle: a Fuses provided are of rating as shown in the approved drawing b Check.that the labeling of devices is as per the approved drawing. c Check the wiring is completed as per the approved drawing. d External Cabling and termination are completed as per the cable schedule. e The terminal connections are tightened properly. f Check Functioning of relays selector switches/contactors etc. 7 Check Manual/Auto start &stop at air compressor. 8 There is no air leakage in pipes, valves, joints etc. 9 SF6 gas is filled up to the required pressure (with temperature compensation). 10 There is no SF6 gas leakage in piaes, valves, joints etc. 11 Close &trip coil resistance checked and adjusted for required values. 12 All insulators are cleaned and free from dust/dirt etc.

D Equipment Erection 1 Check that all assemblies recuired are available at site. 2 Check the physical condition of the material after opening the wooden/ steel packing. 3 Check the rating plate of the CB and ensure that same is matching with the details given In the drawing. 4 Ensure the equipment is lifted using slings/tackles, following the lifting method given In the supplier's manual. 5 Check for positive pressure of SF6 gas in arc chamber & vertical column before erection. 6 Check the erection of equipment is carried out as per the approved drawings along with supplier's representative. where ever required. 7 Check the equipment is aligned and erected vertically. 8 Check the tightness of all nuts and Bolts. 9 Check the insulators have no cracks damages. 10 Check the sr. no. pole no. of arc chamber, vertical column & drive units are matching. 11 Check miscellaneous works like copper piping for CB, inter cabling, cabling from control block to switch cubicle, switch cubicle to C & R panels are completed as per the approved drawing. 12 Check air and SF6 gas pipings are cleaned properly and joints are tightened. 13 Check for leakage in SF6 and air pipe line. 14 Check the earthing is done as per drawing and specifications. 15 Check the type of clamp used (flexible / rigid) is as per the drawing.

A Storage: 1 Ensure that the Equipment is stored in an elevated area and there is no water logging in that area. 2 Ensure that the area of storage is considerably away from construction activities. 3 Where ever possible the equipment be stored vertically. 4 Ensure that all components / accessories are available as per the Bill of material. B Civil: 1 Check the completeness of the foundations as per the approved drawings. 2 Check whether curing period of the foundation is completed. 3 The average crushing strength of the cube is 4 Check the foundation levels are as per the reference level. 5 Check for any damage to the foundation bolts, the threads are clean & undamaged. 6 Check the foundation bolts of correct size are grouted with correct spacing, projection above ground level. 7 Check the earth strip is embedded in the foundation, (if required). 8 Check the sectional clearance between each foundation. 9 Check the back filling is completed as per requirement, specification. 10 After equipment erection the final grouting is completed. C Structure Erection: 1 Check all the required pieces of the equipment structure are available at the site and dimensions are matching with the approved drawing. 2 Check the structure is assembled and placed on the foundation as per the approved drawing. 3 Check the galvanization of the structure, edges of all angles & bracings. 4 Ensure Spring washers are provided below the Nuts. 5 Check the verticality, levelling and alignment of the structure & base frame. 6 Check the height of the structure above ground level is as per the approved drawing. 7 All the nuts and bolts are tightened to the specified torque (record the torque applied). 8 Check the clamping arrangement of the earth strip, tightness of earth connections. C Erection: 1 Check the physical condition of the panels after opening the wooden packing. 2 Check the components of the panel are not damaged in transit. 3 Check components as per the bill of material. 4 Ensure the panels are lifted using proper slings/tackles. 5 Check the panels are positioned as per the layout drawing. 6 Check the panels are levelled, aligned and erected vertically. 7 Check the tightness of all nuts and bolts, inter panel earth bus connections etc. 8 Check the earth connections of the panels are completed as per the approved drawing. 9 Check the cabling is completed as per the cable schedule. 10 All interpanel connections are completed as per the approved drawing.

B Civil: 1 Check the cutouts are made as per the approved drawings. 2 Check the inserts are provided as given in the drawings. 3 Check the pipe inserts for cable entry are provided wherever beams are crossing the cutouts. C Erection: 1 Check the physical condition of the panels after opening the wooden packing. 2 Ensure the Panels are lifted using proper slings/tackles. 3 Check the panels are positioned as per the layout drawing. 4 Check the panels are levelled, aligned and erected vertically. 5 Interpanel wiring is completed as per the approved drawing. 6 Check the tightness of all nuts and bolts, inter panel Main Bus, earth bus connections. 7 Check the earth connections of the panels are completed as per the approved drawing. 8 Check all cabling is completed as per the cable schedule. 9 Check the positive, negative and tap cell connections are correctly connected. 10 Ensure all the panel covers are placed back and the bolts are tightened after inspection.

B Civil: 1 Check the battery room civil work is completed as per the approved drawing. 2 Check the battery room is provided with acid proof tiles/ bricks as per drawing. C Erection: 1 Check the physical condition of the materials after opening the wooden packing. 2 Check the Battery rack is erected per the drawing. 3 Check the Rack, Cells are levelled, aligned and erected vertically. 4 The support insulators are provided for the battery stand and cells. 5 Intercell connections are completed with correct polarity. 6 Check the tightness of all intercell connections and connections of cables from 7 Battery charger to the first, last & tap cells. 8 The cells are numbered correctly. 9 The cells are provided with level indicator and filler caps. 10 The cables coming from charger are clamped and supported properly to avoid any mechanical stress on the cell terminals. 11 Check the connections of cables are made correctly (+ve, -ve & tap cell). 12 Check the accessories like voltmeter, hydrometer, thermometer & safety items are available. 13 Check the exhaust fan is provided in the Battery room as per requirement.

1 Check the Earth mat is laid as per the drawing and joints are welded as per the drawing/specification. 2 Check copper brazing of joints is as per the approved procedure. 3 Check the Bitumin paint is applied on the joints & ends of the GI flat. 4 Check the interconnections of earth mat and earth rods/pipes are completed. 5 Check the risers brought out from the mat for equipment connection. 6 Check the connections from risers to the equipments, structures, busduct supports, rails, gates & fencing are completed as per the drawing. 7 Check the earthing of cable tray, tray support structure, HT cable connections to the main grid. 8 Check the earthing of Control room building, panels, lighting points/fixtures, lighting poles to the main earth mat. 9 Check the tightness of all earth connections. 10 Check the tightness of the shield wire clamps. 11 Check the tightness of test links of earth pits, risers. 12 Check the connection of station earthing to incoming line earthing. 13 Check the earth pit chambers are made as per the approved drawing. 14 Check the water connection (if given in drawing) is provided in the earth pit. 15 Check the individual & combined earth resistance of all earth pits. 16 Check the earth pits are provided with markers/ covers are painted to identify the earth pits.

1 Check the clearance is taken from civil group to start erection. 2 Check all the required pieces of the equipment structure are available at the site and dimensions are matching with the approved drawing. 3 Check the Stub/foundation bolts are grouted as per drawing/structural details. 4 Check the spacing of adjacent tower,(if beams are to be fixed), are as per drawing. 5 Check the structure is assembled and placed on the foundation as per the approved drawing. 6 Check the galvanization of the structure, edges of all angles & bracings and welded area. 7 Ensure Spring washers are provided below the Nuts. 8 Check the verticality, Levelling and alignment of the structure & base frame. 9 Check the height of the structure above ground level is as per the approved drawing. 10 All the nuts and bolts are tightened to the specified torque (record the torque applied). 11 Check the step bolts are fixed and tightened for tower structures. 12 Check the clamping arrangement of the earth strip, tightness of earth connections. 13 Check there is no bending or sagging of columns/beams. Storage: 1 Ensure that the Cable drums are stored in an elevated area and there is no water logging in that area. 2 Ensure that the area of storage is considerably away from construction activities. 3 Ensure that all cables are available as per the Bill of material. Cable Trench & Tray: 1 Check the cable trenches/cable ducts are prepared as per the approved drawings. 2 Check the Cable trays are provided as per the approved drawings. 3 Check the cable trays are earthed as per the drawing/specification. Cable Laying and termination: 1 Check the IR value of the cables/cores prior to laying. 2 Check there are no damages/twisting of cables during laying. 3 Cables are not bent more than the Bending radius of the cables. 4 Check the cables are laid in the trays as per the approved drawing/ routing. 5 For HT Cables, check the phase matching at the two ends of the cable. 6 The cable termination is done as per the cable schedule with correct ferrule nos. provided on the individual cores of control cables. 7 Cables are provided with tags at regular intervals and both ends as per the cable schedule and specification. 8 Check the cables are dressed, clamped, supported properly. 9 Cable markers are provided at regular intervals, for under ground cables. 10 For HT cables, after termination the pig tail is connected to earth properly. 11 Terminations are done with correct size lugs and terminals are properly tightened. 12 Check the spare cores are properly identified and bunched inside the panel and terminal box.
