INTRODUCTION Task Outline Profile (TOP) is part of the Training Manual which provides a bridging linkage between NOSS and learning requirements. The document is prepared to assist curriculum developer in determining teaching delivery and acquiring learning experience by the trainee. By analysing each step, underpinning
knowledge
and
skills
components
are
identified
and
incorporated, so that the learning experience embedded into every step will equip the trainee sufficiently to master the desired competency. Each TOP is linked to the task of competencies as prescribed in the NOSS. TOP comprises of seven (7) components which includes Task Information; Task Objective; Recommended Training Duration; Task Profile; TOP Table; Tools, Equipment and Materials (TEM) and References. The components of TOP Table specify Steps, Learning Outcome, Knowledge, Skills and Core Abilities Competencies. 2. USAGE OF TASK OUTLINE PROFILE (TOP) TOP is used to: i.
Provide information pertaining to the mode and scope of coverage for the Task to be performed;
ii.
Assist in planning, implementation and evaluation of training programme;
iii.
Provide reference in determining assessment requirements for knowledge and skills;
iv. v.
Ensure effectiveness of training delivery; Ensure
uniformity
of
training
delivery
among
providers in term of Training Content and Assessment Criteria.
