COORDINATION BETWEEN OTHER TRADES
6.1
Coordination between Others: Architecture Trades (Not Applicable)
6.2
Coordination between Others: C&S Trades
Temporary Drain (Temporary Earth Drain, Construction Drain) – In order to keep the earthwork area free from standing water, proper temporary drainage system shall be constructed.
Construction of Temporary Access/ Logistic Plan – Temporary access is very crucial during early stage of construction, where smooth work flow will indirectly benefit the project performance: Smooth progress of work as per scheduled Higher productivity
6.3
6.4
Coordination between Others: M&E Trades
To Check if any M&E Services at the excavation work area (Underground Services) – All underground M&E services shall be marked prior start any excavation work. The machine operator or supervisor in charge should check and verify the site condition prior start excavating the earth. The above action required in order to prevent damages or any accident may happen.
The following are the common underground M&E services such as: Water Reticulation System Sewerage Route Telecommunication Cables Electrical or Power Supply
Relocation of All M&E Services (Underground Services) – Necessary protection required to ensure the work done in safe way.
Coordination with Traffic Management Control
Traffic Management Control (Traffic Diversion) – Traffic diversion plan shall be submitted to relevant authority for approval prior any road closure or road diversion prepared at site. The traffic diversion shall be conducted as per approved plan.

WORK METHODOLOGY
7.1
Survey Setting Out
7.2
Preparation to Start Work:
7.3
Boundary/ Building Setting Out /Alignment/ Control Level(TBM) : Surveyor setting out shall be according to the coordinates stated in the latest construction drawings. Random/spot check shall be carried out to the existing alignment or project boundary to confirm the available data is correct. After confirmation, surveyor required to start transferring the survey information and establish project control station (Traverse) and control reference level (TBM). Surveyor shall refer to points given by licensed surveyor to set out the control stations. Coordinates shall be recorded and checked by using at least three (3) established markers on the grounds. For records purpose, the control point shall be jointly checked with relevant parties and acceptable the pegs shall be protected to avoid any disturbance or damaged. All traverse survey works shall be closed. Any closing errors shall be corrected by distribution or otherwise. The site clearing works commence only after the Original Ground Level (OGL) has been taken and endorsed by both parties.
Land Acquisition: Prior start work, the project manager shall checked and ensure that the Employer or relevant authorities have acquired the right of way lands Temporary works: Silt Trap/ Access road, temporary drainage, wash through and silt trap shall be constructed accordingly. Solid waste dumps sites shall be predetermined within or outside the site for the dumping of the site clearing materials. Mackintosh Probe: Testing carried out according to the Consultant Engineer Instruction. All test results submitted to Consulting Engineer to confirm the depth of USM removal.
Protection and Preventive Action
Before commencement of excavation works, check that the following items have been securely protected: Protect the drains from damage and keep clear from debris at all times to prevent clogged drain which may cause flood. Check and report any benchmarks or any established survey point found at the excavation areas. Do not remove or damaged unless instructed otherwise. Underground services or overhead cables to be detected and protected prior to start any excavation works. Recommended to install sufficient warning sign to keep the machine operator aware about all the services near to the work area. Any private property near to the excavation works shall be protected to avoid any damaged or accident. .

Dewatering System or Silt Trap
7.5
Prior to the commencement of excavation, silt traps shall be constructed to act as filters to control siltation from the storm-water runoff on site. Selection of the silt trap location should be planned which it’s can be easily drained into the connecting drainage system. Temporary perimeter drain shall be provided on site in conjunction to discharge the surface run-off and water collected and drained out to the Silt Trap.
Method of Working in Cutting Section
Hydraulic excavators used for bulk excavation. Dump truck used to transport or haulage the excavated material to the filling or stockpile area. Hauling of material from cuttings to the embankments or other areas of fill shall proceed only when sufficient compaction plant is operating at the place of deposition.
Generally, for cutting, the following operations are followed:
Engineer to check and approve the setting out. Topsoil or unsuitable material to be removed up to the cutting limits; average 150mm, for unsuitable material removal depth of removal shall be determined by conducting “Mackintosh Probe Test” Excavation will be carried out in such a way that, in case of rains, no water will be trapped. At all times the excavated surfaces shall have sufficient cross-fall to shed the water and prevent water ponding.
Removal of unwanted material or unsuitable material (USM) Material consider under unsuitable material (USM) as per following: Surface Vegetation – Long Grass, Weeds, Branches, Saplings Stripping and Stockpiling Top Soils (minimum of 150mm) Rubbish, Stump, Boulders Swamp, Marshes, Bogs, Peat, Logs and Toxic Materials
Any material visually or tested classified as Unsuitable material, or as per Engineer’s Instruction
QUICK plastering work, excavation check the works, following:QUICKCHECK: CHECK:Prior Before and during check the following: All fixed joinery items installed accordingly Check possible obstruction or any temporary works Brick surface notrequired contaminated fungus organic growth orof beforeby start workor such as relocation oils which may interfere coating adhesion underground M&E services/ risky excavation works Alignment withinnear tolerances / Correct setting out to private property Finished products (Aluminium/Timbe Check site condition – soggy or swamp or unsuitable material shall be removed and replaced
7.6
Method of Working in Filling Section
7.6.1
Trial Compaction For first filling and compaction activities, contractor shall arrange trial compaction to see and evaluate the number of passes required to achieve the required degree of compaction. Theoretically, different type of soil and type of compactor machine will produce different degree of compaction achievement. The machine capacity and effectiveness may the addition factor. 7

Proposed Seri Kembangan Interchange And Toll Plaza 7.6.2
Generally, for filling works, the following operations will be used:
Surveyor to provide setting out. Topsoil will be stripped off up to the filling limits with minimum 150mm topsoil layer. Operation / Method: Suitable excavated materials shall be loaded to haul area of fill by using dump truck. The dump truck will unloaded a short distance away from the area of fill, bulldozer or Backpusher will then level the earth to the area of fill. In this way the compacted layer beneath will not be damaged by the dump truck. Once the surface is ready for filling, suitable materials are placed and spread out using backpusher and/or motorgrader and/or bulldozer. End or side tipping to form embankment will be avoided. The earth filling shall be carried out layer by layer and every filling layer shall not exceed 300mm. Compaction to be carried out by vibratory compacting roller. Compaction shall be carried out until the filling compaction achieved at least 90% degree of compaction of Field Density Test (FDT). At least one(1) FDT to be carried out for area of 1,000 sq.meter aQUICK CHECK: Before and during filling works, check the following: Before filling works, the area should be free from unsuitable or combustible material. It shall be well compacted using roller compactor For the roadwork or highway standard, compaction for filling works (subbase layer), minimum compaction of 90% shall be achieved in FDT test. Filling thickness layer by layer shall be not exceeding 300mm For (Road base layer) compaction shall achieved minimum 95% degree of compaction.
