Nokia Solutions and Networks Operations and Support System
NSN has an extensive OSS/BSS product portfolio covering all telecom domains from element management layers to service and business management. Key products have been commercially available since 1992, and today over 1.2 billion end-users enjoy services accessed through networks managed by our network management systems. To address the challenges service providers are today facing on their local and global markets, Nokia Solutions and Networks is developing and renewing its product portfolio to provide topical solutions for operator customers. Telecom business transformation shaping many markets today calls for OSS transformation in a form of a well-designed nextgeneration OSS. Nokia Solutions and Networks’ new CIE / OSS products with new architecture fulfill the following expectations:
Ability to support operators’ business processes by introducing modifiable operator process templates out-of-the-box to enable higher level of automation in many of operators’ daily routines. Shared information and data model; enabling OSS level application interoperability through Common Information Models. Modularity of application architecture, allowing flexible building of solutions based on customer needs. The architecture also provides the openness that allows easy implementation of additional 3rd party applications on top of the platform. Separation of the application architecture from network element adaptation/mediation layer. Thus, the applications should be built as multi-vendor and multi-technology capable by nature. In practice, this would speed up the rollout of new network elements or functionalities, as new equipment can be implemented and integrated without major changes to the OSS application architecture. Similarly, introducing new OSS functionality can be done independently from managing the network element adaptations. Common platform for converged OSS solutions, and harmonized software and hardware assets when building these solutions. This harmonization will reduce operators’ costs on system administration and maintenance, system integration, training and naturally, on the initial infrastructure investments.

1.1
What is NetAct?
As the range of devices and subscriber services continues to grow, new technologies and elements are introduced into the telecom ecosystem. This poses challenges on network management, network services and the business as a whole. Furthermore, an increased number of stand-alone management solutions, producing resource-consuming management processes, as well as many overlapping functions require additional coordination. The key task for any network management system is to provide a coherent and customerfocused view of this multidimensional combination of different networks, network elements and end user services. NSN NetAct offers a uniform set of efficient tools for radio and core network management. Because it is based on industry standards and has an open architecture, NetAct cuts through the complexity, and helps the operator to manage multi-technology and multivendor networks with one single system. This means reduced administration, maintenance and system integration cost. With its growing set of automated tools and tasks mapped to operator processes as well as a comprehensive suite of premium, modular applications for managing all network domains, NetAct helps to improve network quality while reducing operational costs. NetAct is a key enabler of self-organizing networks (SON). The system is designed for smooth evolution from existing to future network technologies. NetAct is highly scalable and can handle not only technology lifecycle requirements, but also network growth and changes in service offering. With NetAct, the operator can protect hardware and software investment, as well as retain existing processes and manage the network with same amount of personnel, when upgrading the network, for example, from WCDMA to LTE. NetAct also supports customer-specific extensions and thus can adapt to operator-specific business processes and needs. NetAct comprises a common computing platform, an adaptation and mediation layer and an application layer. NetAct consolidates the views and services available to the network management personnel by moving from a network- and resource-centric approach towards a customer-centric approach. This improves the user experience and ultimately improves quality and saves costs in network management operations.

iSON Manager – iSON Content Packs
Nokia Solutions and Networks intelligent Self Organising Networks (iSON) is an end to end automation solution adding efficiencies to key operational tasks and processes in radio and core networks. By making the network self-organizing, reacting to changes takes less resources from the network operations center, changes happen faster and reach higher levels of quality. iSON helps the operator assess the best SON deployment strategies, implement new network elements on a plug and play basis, automatically optimize the network’s to adapt and balance itself to changing traffic load and other network conditions and helps the network to heal itself in case of failures. iSON key components are iSON Radio, Core, Operations and Services. iSON Manager is an independent platform that gathers PM, CM and FM data from NetAct 8 (given that the corresponding SON functionalities are enabled in NetAct 8) and provides content packs for executing network self-configuration, self-optimization and self-healing. Each content pack includes support for specific end-to-end process for SON, for radio networks or for core networks. New content packs can be flexibly included in NSN iSON manager based on operator needs.

Some examples of Content Packages for iSON for Radio are: Self Configuration, Self Optimization Mobility, Self Optimization Performance and Self Healing. Examples of content packages for Core are: Dynamic TDM Circuit Balancer, VLR load balancer, LAC based susbscriber balancer, S-GW Balancer, SGSN Pool Balancer. For an updated list of content packages please contact NSN support team. iSON Manager is an essential part of the NSN iSON solution. It is also possible to mix & match content packs from iSON Manager and Operations on Demand, thus reducing the need for additional hardware.

Operations on Demand
Operations on Demand (OoD) is a network operations process automation tool, typically working on top of NetAct or, if needed, with direct interfaces to various NSN products such as PaCO Network elements, or Traffica. OoD simplifies the business process or daily operations by reusing the existing interfaces and building workflows on top that can be run manually or automatically. The product delivery contains process automation execution environment software and Content Packs which then contain the actual process automation and applications to help process simplification. Examples of OoD content packs are Traffic Steering applications and applications to manage elasticity in telco clouds: WiFi Activation Manager (for traffic management) and Network 360. Network 360 allows fast and accurate network troubleshooting by providing:

Multi-vendor support with NetAct Performance Manager, Advanced Monitor and Advanced Configurator
NetAct Performance Manager is an umbrella assurance tool for the global Management of the network performance data. NPM Provides long term data warehousing solution and advanced reporting and PM monitoring data functionalities. NetAct Advanced Monitor is an umbrella assurance tool that provides centralized end-toend monitoring workflows on a single screen. Due to its open architecture, Advanced Monitor can provide a consolidated end-to-end view of the whole installed base in complex multivendor and multi-technology networks. Advanced Monitor utilizes various data sources, each containing valuable information about networks and services. The following list provides an overview of the areas covered by the Fault Manager NetAct Base Advanced Monitor: Alarm Enrichment with extra information from external source through 3GPP. SNMP and NE3S. A library of MVI adaptations with all the major protocols supported. Optional automatic root cause analysis for IP/MPLS networks based on codebook Automatic View Generation based on predefined templates. Intuitive trouble ticket handling supported by standardized OSS/J based trouble ticket client interface. Direct access to EMS/NEs allowing instantaneous analysis and fault resolution, for example Cell Reset. Support for cross-domain and connectivity correlation use cases. Report generation for alarms and correlation metric measurements. Centralization of FM operations and processes in multi-vendor and multi-technology networks. Efficient monitoring workflow acceleration with interaction of tools integrated to one desktop framework, for example Trouble Ticket tools. Full set of fault management applications with high usability and full GUI customization. Fast fault detection and RCA (Root Cause Analysis) via alarm collection, filtering, processing, advanced correlation, automation and enrichment. Resource mapping and modeling of connectivity between network elements NetAct Advanced Configurator is an umbrella fulfillment tool offering a network-level workspace for multi-vendor configuration management tasks. With Advanced Configurator and the tools, the operator can process network-wide configuration management data and and execute network operations and plan network configuration tasks, such as consistency check, network audit or border area adjacency management. Advanced Configurator can integrate to multiple network management systems, through which the operator can access network elements and/or lower-level management systems.

NetAct Advanced Configurator contains vendor-specific data models that describe the network from a certain vendor’s perspective. The vendor-specific models offer the same adaptation content for configuration management as the lower level systems.

NetAct Service Quality Manager
Service Quality Manager (SQM) presents a uniform, end-to-end view of the quality of service offered in the network. SQM is multi-vendor and multi-technology capable. The information received from the network enables SQM determine the current service status and service level (calculated by service-specific correlation rules). Examples of such services are voice and data services in 2G and 3G networks. Service Quality Manager handles service problems according to priority sets for service areas, service types or end-user groups. Prioritization is based on operator’s business priorities, that is, problems with the operator’s main revenue-generating services are of high priority.

Serve atOnceTraffica
Serve atOnce Traffica offers versatile applications for multi-technology customer-centric network and service management by providing subscriber-specific mobile and fixed call, SMS, MMS, GPRS and WCDMA event information. Traffica shows network traffic and service delivery capability in real time. It extracts information from selected NSN network elements directly or, in multi-vendor networks, it collects signaling information or DPI probes. Traffica visualizes the network traffic both via predefined and user-definable format. The tool also stores records for each call attempt, SMS delivery and packet core event into a database for further use in troubleshooting and customer care. Traffica provides subscriber-specific information about successful and unsuccessful traffic events, such as subscriber Attach and PDP Context Activation, voice and data calls, as well as SMS deliveries. It also collects information from the network, analyzes the network status and initiates actions that maintain network quality. Traffica can also be used for verifying the effects of corrective actions. For customer care personnel, Traffica provides a unique solution by giving fast access to detailed subscriber activity, as well as root causes of faults in an easy-to-use format. Thus customer complaints can be resolved quicker, which increases customer satisfaction and improves call center efficiency. Traffica supports different operator processes such as operation and maintenance, network and system management, customer care, service and product development, as well as marketing and customer account management. Traffica can be scaled and has multi-vendor integration ability.

NetAct Releases
Release is normally reserved for platform changes and new features. According to the current NetAct release model, one major release is published per year. Enhancement Packs (EP) include additional new functionality (minor new features and support for new network elements) and fault corrections. Each EP replaces the previous one; bugs are fixed in the upcoming EP unless there is no workaround in which case the bug is deployed as a hot fix on installed EP. Releases need to be purchased separately, and an upgrade fee applies. The upgrade fee includes all the on top Enhancement Packs. Optional functionality always needs to be purchased separately. NetAct releases are named and numbered as follows: The first digit in the release number indicates a significant platform change Example: NetAct 8 Minor software releases: Enhancement Packs (EP), for example: NetAct 8 EP1

The hardware platform of NetAct consists of three main parts, namely servers, storage devices and network equipment, such as switches and routers. NetAct utilizes x86-64-based servers with multicore processors and supports blade solutions. NetAct operating environment is fully virtualized. NetAct’s software architecture is three-tiered: the tiers are
Presentation tier Business logic tier and Data tier. Business logic and Data tiers are separated from Presentation tier by firewalls and reside inside the secure domain. Presentation tier hosts client applications. The client applications access Business logic tier and reside typically on a user workstation, for example, a laptop or a desktop computer. The recommended workstation is an office PC with either Windows or Linux operating system. Business logic tier hosts the business logic and data access specific for NetAct. Data tier hosts NetAct data storages, that is, the database and directory servers. Both Business logic tier and Data tier utilize virtual machines running on one or more host servers dedicated to NetAct.

Virtualization
With NetAct 8, we are stepping into a virtualized environment. In a virtualized infrastructure (VI), software is set up in such a way that it can operate independently from the underlying hardware. The physical resources of multiple machines are shared across the whole infrastructure, and they act as a resource pool. In a VI, the physical hardware resources are divided into smaller units, virtual machines (VMs) that have their own allocated virtual CPU and memory. The virtualization layer (HW virtualization capability) is provided by the VMware hypervisor. Servers simply add I/O, CPU and RAM computing resources to the HW pool and virtualization provides a logical view of data, computing power, storage capacity and other server resources. Compared to the previous NetAct releases, there are no longer dedicated hardware roles. Instead, NetAct applications, mediations, and services running on a number of VMs are powered by a hardware resource pool. Each VM is dimensioned and optimized for the service or services running in it. In this way, the same NetAct functions can be provided but with better high availability and scalability options.

Benefits of virtualization in NetAct
Virtualization in NetAct brings the following benefits:
Reduced CAPEX and OPEX by consolidation, for example, improved HW utilization, and the possibility to co-locate NSN products. Near zero downtime upgrade: Upgrade can be performed by cloning the system within the virtualized infrastructure. Upgrades are performed on the clone side and then after upgrade testing, the clone system becomes the live system. Zero downtime hardware maintenance and capacity can be added without business impact. Efficient high availability and disaster avoidance solutions by using shared redundancy resources. All HW resources are in efficient use: No more fixed amount of physical servers or standby nodes as virtual machines are distributed by load. In addition, decoupling NetAct and 3rd party HW/SW makes HW planning more flexible. Increased elasticity, in other words, scalability in a virtual environment.

3.1.2
Scalability in virtualized infrastructure
Scalability is an important feature of the virtual NetAct environment since there are software components that can be located on more than one VM, and conversely, one VM can contain more than one software component. If the load increases beyond a virtual machine’s ability to handle the load, then the software component and/or virtual machine must be scaled to cope with the increased demand. However, not all software components scale in a similar way: Some software components are designed to scale horizontally, which means that additional virtual machines need to be provisioned in order to enable the software component to distribute its load. Horizontal scalability is enabled by placing software components behind load balancers. Other software components scale better vertically, which means that additional resources (CPU and memory) need to be allocated to the virtual machine where the software component is hosted.

Components Overview
NetAct comprises a common computing platform, an adaptation and mediation layer and an application layer. NetAct computing platform provides preconfigured 3rd party hardware and software to support the operation of the upper layers. 3rd party software includes components for virtualization infrastructure. Adaptation and mediation layer provides the interface through which data originating from network elements enters NetAct and can be handled by NetAct applications. It also provides the application layer with services which are not specific to any network management operation, for instance access control and logging. Application layer contains the applications for common management tasks, such as fault management, configuration management, performance management and network optimization. Applications are accessible via user workstations. Depending on the operator’s installation, the tools allow management of part or all of the network domains. Software Environment
If any third-party software is needed, the required licenses are provided by Nokia Solutions and Networks and cannot be obtained by the operator. NOTICE: The Oracle 11g version includes several optional extra-cost Enterprise Manager features. Only Oracle Diagnostic Pack, Oracle Tuning Pack, and Oracle Advanced Compression licenses are included in NetAct. Other optional extra-cost features may not be used. The following tables list the operating system and the major third-party software components used in the current release.

System High Availability
System reliability refers to all features included in NetAct platform that facilitate high availability and disaster avoidance of the NetAct system. The following chapters explain the concepts and solutions in more detail. High availability aims to eliminate single points of failure (power supply, disk space, CPU, software or connectivity) by introducting redundancy of in software and hardware components. Connections between any two servers and inside the storage system are built to incorporate redundancy, that is, there always are two independent paths between any two components in a virtualized cluster. The same principle applies also to routers and firewalls. High availability guarantees that critical resources are available for NetAct operations even in failover situations. Load balancing concerns other server configurations than single server configuration. In multi-server configuration, load balancing ensures that server load is distributed among the servers in an application server cluster. Automatic load balancing is not used on the data tier, but balances traffic on the application. The following lists the HA mechanisms in use in NetAct: Virtual Machine (VM/guest) availability monitored by Virtual Infrastructure Manager Service availability monitored on guest System by Watchdog J2EE Application availability guaranteed with WebSphere cluster Automatic restart of failed application or virtual machine in case of application or guest failure Priorities and VM startup order Redundant HW components: Running NetAct node (VM) can be relocated to another physical server online There is no service interruption for end users

Backup
NetAct offers both an online backup and an offline disk-based backup of the file system and databases. Online backups are taken while the system is up and running and are automatically scheduled. Offline backup is taken when the database is not running, typically after the installation of the database or when changes requiring a shutdown have been performed, also before an upgrade. The backup disk can either be part of the online disk storage or located on separate backup disk storage. NetAct’s open backup interface enables operators to build their own or use a third-party backup solution. However, using a custom-made or a 3rd party backup solution requires that the chosen solution is compatible with the other software components installed on the NetAct cluster and does not interfere with NetAct integrity. Furthermore, it must be ensured that there is enough processing capability and data storage available for the custom-made or 3rd party backup solution.

Interfaces Mediations and Adaptations
The support for network elements is divided into mediations and adaptations. Mediations are responsible for the conversion of the network element interface to the NetAct internal format. Mediations are, in most cases, network technology independent. Mediations hide different network element interfaces from applications. Applications can thus concentrate on processing relevant data, and do not need to take into account different protocols (for example SNMP, http, or Q3) and data formats (for example ASCII, or XML). An adaptation is software that adapts NetAct System applications for a certain vendor’s network technology. Technically, an adaptation configures the user interfaces, database, mediation, business rules, etc. Adaptations introduce all the information to NetAct that is specific for a certain network element type and release.
4.2
NetAct Interfaces
In NetAct, interface-related issues are very important, since dependencies are controlled via interfaces, and controlled dependencies are a key enabler of modularity - an important property of the NetAct 8 architecture. NetAct can be integrated into external systems via northbound interfaces. External systems are employed for similar monitoring, reporting and network planning tasks as NetAct, but at a higher abstraction level. These higher-level systems can be either NSN or third-party management systems. Lower-level systems or network elements can be integrated into NetAct via southbound interfaces. Again, these lower-level systems can be either NSN or third-party element management systems. Mediations are responsible for the interworking or conversion between the protocols or data formats used in the lower-level or higher-level systems and the protocols or data formats used in the NetAct system. Protocols used in the lower-level or higher-level systems are, for instance, SNMP, SOAP or HTTP, and data formats are, for instance, ASCII or XML

Southbound interfaces
NetAct supports a set of transport and application protocols as well as provides Integration SDK to integrate and manage 3rd party network elements and element management systems (EMS). Integration to a 3rd party network element or EMS involves the creation of mediation and adaptation. The mediation converts the interface protocol and data model exposed by the 3rd party system to the NetAct internal data model and the adaptation models the resources of the 3rd party system. The transport and application protocols supported by NetAct for integrating with 3rd party systems are UDP, SSH, FTP, SFTP, HTTP, SNMP (v1, v2c, v3), CORBA, EJB, JDBC, and SOAP. Northbound interfaces
Northbound interfaces provide a means to integrate NetAct to 3rd party upper level management systems. Many of the interfaces can be utilized equally well with NetAct and umbrella management system tools. The 3GPP Rel6 CORBA FM northbound interface is a 3GPP standard compliant interface used for exchanging topology and alarm information. The SNMP northbound interface provides SNMP v2c and SNMP v3 based alarm forwarding and alarm uploading functionality with filtering capabilities. Cancel and acknowledge operations of alarms can be invoked from upper level management systems. The interface supports both network alarms and NetAct internal alarms. The ASCII Alarm Forwarding interface provides the capability for continuous alarm information forwarding from NetAct to external systems in ASCII format using common TCP/IP and UNIX services. The ASCII Alarm Forwarding interface supports all alarms collected by NetAct as well as the alarms generated by the NetAct self-monitoring application. The XML (OMeS) Based Measurement Data Export interface is a solution for publishing performance management data in OMeS format for upper level management systems. OMeS is an XML based NSN proprietary format for specifying measurement data. The 3GPP XML Format PM Northbound interface exports raw measurement data in 3GPP formatted XML files to external systems. FTIRP is supported, and FTP or sFTP can be used for transferring performance management files. The interface is applicable for all PM supported network elements managed by NetAct. The OSS/J Trouble Ticket Client interface can be used to integrate 3rd party trouble ticket systems with NetAct. After the integration it is possible to create, modify, view or close trouble tickets from NetAct Monitor desktop. The 3GPP Rel6 BulkCM Northbound interface is a 3GPP compliant interface for configuration management data upload, download and configuration management operations. The interface supports WCDMA and LTE. The TMF615 Unified User Management interface is a standard solution for integrating NetAct to external central user management systems. It centrally facilitates management of users and their access rights for all OSS systems. The XML Based Inventory Data Export interface exports hardware inventory data in XML formatted files to be transmitted to external systems. 3GPP FTIRP is supported, and FTP or sFTP can be used for transferring performance management files. The XML/CSV Planning Data and Hardware Inventory Data File interfaces are solutions for exporting configuration management planning data and hardware inventory data in XML/CSV formatted files. The Email Alarm Forwarding NBI is an interface for forwarding alarm events to external systems in specific e-mail format.

3GPP Rel6 Corba FM and PM interface
The 3GPP CORBA Northbound interface is part of the NetAct open interfaces concept. This northbound, 3GPP-compliant interface is used for exchanging alarm information and performance information between NetAct and external systems, for example, a third-party system. The interface complies with 3GPP Fault Management requirements v6.0.0, Performance measurement XML file format definition v10.0.0 and File Transfer (FT) Integration Reference Point (IRP) v10.0.0. In addition to fault management and performance management, this interface also supports basic configuration management. It provides the following functionality in detail: Alarm upload for alarm synchronization. Spontaneous alarm notifications for new alarms, acknowledged alarms, and cleared alarms. Alarms can be acknowledged through the open interface by the external system. Flexible alarm filtering capabilities for alarm upload. Configurable filter for notifications set by external system at subscription time. Query information about the available PM XML files ready to be uploaded. PM North Mediation Interface
PM NMI (Performance Management North Mediation Interface) is a solution for publishing PM (Performance Management) data in OMeS (Open Measurement Standard) format. With PM NMI, it is possible to transfer PM data to an external system. In OMeS, data export and file transfer are based on an advanced XML format. The main advantages of the interface are:
The OMeS file format exported through the interface allows the use of universal tools with XML support. This enables easy and cost-effective integration of any external system to NetAct.
The rule-specific filtering function avoids transferring irrelevant PM data to the external system. Third-party integrations do not cause extra load on the performance database. The capacity of NetAct is thus ensured in all circumstances.

XML Interface for Configuration Management Data
This interface is used for exchanging network configuration data with other planning systems. The file format is a markup language for configuration management, RAML, which is based on XML. The current supported versions of the mark-up language are RAML/CM2.0 and CM2.1. Nokia Siemens Networks provides schemas for validating RAML/CM2.0 and CM2.1 files. However, the schemas can only be used to check the generic file structure. They cannot be used to validate parameter names and values. The managed objects and parameters that need to be imported with the XML file or exported to an XML file are defined with a profile. Nokia Siemens Networks provides ready-made profiles, for example, for site creation and adjacency management tasks. The user can also create own profiles using an external text or XML editor. There are four different types of configuration data files that can be transferred over the interface:
Actual configuration An actual configuration contains the actual configuration of a certain network area. Actuals are transferred to the planning system to make sure that the future plans are based on the actual network configuration.
New configuration A New configuration contains a new configuration plan which is planned to be provision into the network.
Reference A reference configuration contains all objects and parameters of the network in their intended optimal configuration, as well as modifications planned for the (immediate) future.
Template Templates define a collection of parameter values for a particular managed object class. They are used for two purposes: They define managed object parameters for new planned (CREATE) managed objects that define how the object should behave. Parameter values in plans override the corresponding value provided by the assigned template. They identify the object’s type: for example, pico, micro, and macro for BTS. This can be used as object classification or assigning templates for related managed objects. For this purpose, the template can be assigned both for new planned (CREATE) and existing actual managed objects. There are two types of templates: System templates There is a single system template supporting the latest network element version for each managed object class. The system template values are defined according to the latest release of the network element. Versioning of templates is not supported in system templates. These templates are provided as part of NetAct Configurator and they cannot be edited by users. Version 1

User templates A managed object class can have multiple user templates or no user template. A user template only contains values that differ from the system template, as the system template is always automatically used under the user template to provide all missing values.

CSV Interface for Configuration Management Data
This interface is used for exchanging network configuration data with other planning systems. The format of the configuration data is CSV (comma-separated value). A CSV file is an ASCII (that is, plain text) representation of spreadsheet data. In NetAct Configurator, a CSV file contains data that represents the managed objects in the network. Data in CSV format can be used in exporting actual configurations, importing and exporting plans and site information. The managed objects and parameters that need to be imported with the CSV file or exported to a CSV file are pre-defined in an open, well-described fixed format. There are four different types of configuration data files that can be transferred over the interface: Actual Configuration, New Configuration, Reference Configuration and Templates. Please refer to the section for XML Interface for Configuration Management Data for details on these configurations.

XML Based Inventory Data Export
The XML inventory data export interface is a proprietary open XML interface used for integrating with a higher level inventory management system. Inventory data is managed in NetAct 8 via the CM tools. XML Based Inventory Data Export provides the following functions: Export the original inventory data from NetAct. Transform the original inventory data to XML format and name inventory data files according to 3GPP defined file naming rules. Export delta inventory data once every day. Notify all subscribed NMS when new inventory files are ready. Provide listAvailableFiles operation to check the existing inventory files. This object-oriented interface is compliant with 3GPP Technical Specifications (TS) listed in Referenced 3GPP technical specifications, such as Information Service (IS) and CORBA solution sets documents, which are relevant to a CORBA-based solution. The framework of these specifications is the Integration Reference Point (IRP) concept, which defines the following basic principles. For more information, see 3GPP TS 32.101 and TS 32.102. Top-down, process-driven modeling approach The purpose of each Integration Reference Point (IRP) is automation of one specific task related to enhanced Telecommunication Operation Map (eTOM) proposed by TeleManagement Forum (TMF). Technology-independent modeling Based on the requirements, an interface technology independent model is specified in the “Information Service” and “Network Resource Model” documents. Standards-based technology-dependent modeling The purpose is to create one or more interface technology dependent models from the technology-independent model. This is specified in IRP Solution Set(s), such as CORBA solution sets. The NetAct lower management interfaces towards Element Management Systems/Network Elements (EMSs / NEs) might be manufacturer-dependent. Provisioning of NBI makes possible an easy integration of multi-vendor equipment and to offers unified management ability for the entire mobile network. To fulfill these requirements, the NBI implements an “IRPAgent”, which can convert the management information from the NetAct internal format to the information required at NBI.

OSS/J Trouble Ticket Interface
The Trouble Ticket Interface is based on J2EE/EJB technology. The Trouble Ticket Client tool supports the trouble resolution process in NetAct. The main benefits of using the J2EE/EJB-based interface are a manageable UI for the basic trouble ticketing tasks, interworking with Monitoring Desktop tools, for example, Network View or Alarm List, and a fast and easy way to access alarm-related or alarming object-related information. Data exchange with a trouble ticketing system is enabled using a standardized OSS/J (OSS Through Java™ Initiative) compliant interface. The interface offers services for transferring alarms and managed object information to a third-party trouble ticket system as well as realtime functionality to show alarms and managed objects attached to trouble tickets in certain monitoring tools. The Trouble Ticket List and Trouble Ticket Details tools are the front-end clients to the OSS/J Trouble Ticket Interface. User queries started in the UIs are exchanged over the standard OSS/J interface to the Trouble Ticket server. However, the server itself is not contained in the NetAct system. As the interface is OSS/J compliant, each server implementing the standard OSS/J interface can be used, after the necessary integration to the NetAct system.

e-mail Alarm Forwarding
The E-mail Alarm Forwarding Interface is designed to send e-mails for multiple e-mail recipients using external e-mail sender programs. This interface sends e-mails directly using an external mail server configured via the preferences. The alarm forwarding system in NetAct forwards alarms to e-mail accounts using a specific e-mail format. The e-mail alarm format specified in this interface is the same to all the recipients. NetAct sends each alarm notification in a separate mail. This interface does not specify how NetAct fetches event information and does not describe the format of e-mail rules.

TMF – 615 Unified User Management Interface
NetAct (User Manager System-Lower UMS-L) can be integrated into a remote User Management system (UMC-C) through TMF 615 northbound interface. NetAct provides TMF 615 northbound web service interface for a TMF 615 web service client on the remote UMSC. The UMS-C can use this interface, for example, to propagate user data administered on the UMS-C to the NetAct user repository. When integrating a remote UMS-C, a secure communication must be established between the UMS-C and NetAct. This comprises of the following steps: On NetAct Install license for TMF 615 northbound interface Enable HTTPS on the TMF615 northbound interface Create a user account for the remote UMS-C and grant proper access rights. NetAct Start Page
NetAct Start Page is a centralized launch pad for starting NetAct user interface applications. You can start all the NetAct applications that have been configured and for which you have permission to launch from NetAct Start. NetAct uses Single Sign-On (SSO) for accessing applications through NetAct Start. To be able to access applications through NetAct Start, a user must have a valid user name and password. The user also must be granted the permissions for accessing the needed applications. Depending on the permissions granted for the user, a list of published applications is visible to the user. From the right-hand dropdown menu the user can select between two different views. Folder view shows the different fragments as folders. The applications are grouped into the following functional areas:
Administration: Applications for administering adaptations. Configuration: NetAct CM applications, License Manager and Software Manager. Optimization: Applications for network Optimization. Monitoring: NetAct Monitor. Reporting: NetAct Reporter. Security: Certificate, User Management and NE User Management applications.
User Assistance: Operating documentation library. Clicking the Online Help icon opens the Online Help Browser. By selecting ‘Show all applications’ from the dropdown menu the user can see all the applications in one view and access them by mouse click. All the Java applications are installed on the application server cluster when NetAct is deployed. When a Java Rich Client is accessed for the first time, it is downloaded by the JWS to user workstation and launched for the user. The next time it is accessed, the application is started from the local JWS cache. JWS checks the version of the application every time it is launched on the user workstation, and if necessary, updates the application from the application server.

Each application that you can launch from NetAct is grouped into the following categories according to what kind of tasks it is used for: Administration Applications used for the administration of Mediations and Adaptations in NetAct. Provides as well access to Element Managers. Deployment For AddOns Management. AddOns are enterprise applications that can be deployed to the NetAct server. Configuration Set of applications used to manage the network configuration. Optimization Set of applications used to optimize the network configuration. Monitoring This is the group for fault management applications to monitor and troubleshoot the managed network. Reporting Use these applications to start measurements and generate reports on the performance of the managed network. Security Applications for User Account Management, Network Elements User Management and Certification Authority (Certificates generation). User Assistance Applications to access User Documentation and Information Adaptation Browser. Some applications are optional and require a license, otherwise they are not visible in NetAct GUI.

Administration Category
Adaptation Manager An adaptation is a set of fragments such as configuration management (CM), Performance Management (PM), Fault Management (FM), and other fragments. These fragments contain data that enables NetAct to communicate with any Network Element. Several releases of an adaptation can be deployed to NetAct to support multiple versions of network elements. Adaptation Manager allows to manage adaptations. A user with adequate roles and permissions can perform the following actions with Adaptation Manager:
Deploying adaptations, Un-deploying adaptations, Redeploying adaptations Viewing adaptations Mediation Management The FM SNMP Mediation Configuration user interface is a web application used for activation, deactivation and parameter configuration (timeout, retries, number messages handled in parallel mode) of Agent supervision, Trap Reliability and Alarm upload functions for all NEs. With SNMP FM mediator, you can perform the following tasks:
Configuring global parameters for agent supervision and trap reliability Configuring parameters for agent supervision by NE Configuring global parameters for alarm synchronization The SNMP PM Mediator user interface is a web application used for activation, deactivation and parameter configuration (for example, timeout, retries and number messages handled in parallel mode) of PM mediation. It facilitates configuration of the PM mediation parameters for all network elements. With SNMP PM mediator, you can perform the following tasks:
Configuring global parameters and parameters for PM Polling by NE Polling Configuration for existing NEs NE Integration Wizard Network Element Integration Wizard application, is used by system administrator to automatically integrate a network element to NetAct. SNMP FM Mediator SNMP FM Mediator application allows system administrator to activate, deactivate, and configure parameters of agent supervision, trap reliability, and alarm upload functions for all network elements. SNMP PM Mediator SNMP PM Mediator allows system administrator to activate, deactivate, and configure parameters of PM mediation (for example, timeout, retries and number messages handled in parallel mode). Using SNMP PM Mediator, administrator user can: • Configure global parameters • Configure parameters for PM Polling by network element • Configure polling for existing network elements SNMP PM Mediator application allows administrator to configure performance management measurement data polling for the SNMP based network elements and stores the performance indicators in the system. The performance indicators are configured in the performance management adaptation and the mapping between SNMP variables and performance indicators is defined by the SNMP PM fragment of the adaptation. The network elements having SNMP PM fragments deployed on NetAct can be polled by the SNMP PM mediation. If performance management adaptation exists, then the data is used by performance management and stored in performance management database. Map Administrator Map Administrator is an administration tool designed for managing the Geographic Information System (GIS). GIS combines data with location. The main usages for such a system are data retrieval and visualization based on the location, for example, showing computed network coverage or dominance on a map.

Configuration Category
NetAct Configurator NetAct Configurator is a component in the scalable NetAct framework for operating mobile networks. Configurator gives access to real-time network configuration data and provides tools to manage network configuration. The basic functionality of NetAct Configurator is to define and manage parameter data in the network. Network architecture can be functionally grouped into the access network and the core network. The access network handles all radio-related functionality while the core network is responsible for routing calls and data connections to external networks. With Configurator, the access network and core network are managed in a centralized way. The main functionalities of Configurator are:
storing the network parameters in the database data exchange with external tools setting, modifying, viewing, and comparing network configuration data mass modifications on the network: integrating sites, extending and optimizing the network
small scale tuning of the network configuration Software Manager, License Manager Software Manager and License Manager are centralized NetAct applications for the network management of Software (NetAct and NEs Software) and Licenses (NetAct and NE's licenses). SON Scheduler SON Scheduler allows user to view and configure operations related to WCDMA Flexi BTS(s) as well as autoconnection and autoconfiguration features both in the network and planned configuration. SON Scheduler functionality manages the four following features in LTE networks:
PCI Conflict Resolution Mobility Robustness Optimization Synchronization of Inter-RAT Neighbors Optimization of Intra LTE Neighbor Relations
It provides advanced filtering options to improve displaying required information as well as an array of scheduling options.

Plan Editor Plan Editor allows the user to edit radio network plans offline, making it possible to modify all network parameters locally on a PC. Changes to the network topology or either single parameter changes or mass operations on large groups of parameters can be planned in a format that can be used by network planning and management systems. Plan Editor graphical user interface displays managed objects in a hierarchical order and provides a drag-and-drop functionality to ease the planning work. Plan Editor includes a reporting functionality, Parameter Dictionary, for online reference and help on parameter value ranges, and the possibility to store several default parameter sets. .

NetAct Configurator
Maintaining up-to-date picture of the network Working with the latest data is a precondition for exploiting the full potential of any network. Configurator not only retrieves configuration data from network elements whenever desired. It also saves this information to allow operators create an archive of configuration stages to give them vital insight and thus enables them to optimize their network. Built-in northbound interface capability allows for the export of data towards third-party post-processing applications. Configuring the network Configurator provides offline planning capabilities to prevent any mistakes to be made on a running network. Current and planned configurations can be compared to identify the best solution. Plausibility checks prevent errors from the start. An Import functionality is available which enables to process network plans which have been prepared outside of Configurator in an operator’s planning environment. In the configure phase all three Configurator components work hand-in-hand:
CM Editor is used for displaying configuration data and for comfortable editing of data when creating a network plan. CM Analyzer is used for use case specific running of consistency checks.
Finally, CM Operations Manager comes into the game when externally created network plans are imported into the Configurator application for further processing. With the Command Manager, CM Operations Manager allows the direct execution of commands and command files (on-demand or scheduled) to network elements. Once a new configuration has been defined automatic delta command generation takes care of spelling out all necessary changes in the relevant network element specific data formats. Controlled deployment of all administration is provided by the provisioning capability. The automation of all download tasks ensures network consistency and minimizes operational efforts, allowing a complete transparency of all planning and with minimized margin for error. All provisioning steps are controlled by the CM Operations Manager.

Optimization Category
The optimization process usually takes place when the monitored performance drops below the set targets, when a periodical tuning task is to be started or when there is need to optimize the behavior of new network elements in the network. The existing network configuration and performance needs to be taken into account when adding the new elements. Measurements are used for analyzing the network and service performance development against set targets. A detailed analysis is performed to find the reasons behind decreased performance and to select the appropriate corrective actions. In this phase, the relations between performance indicators and element parameters are analyzed. After the analysis phase, the configuration parameter settings are optimized and the set quality criteria are checked. When the corrections are verified and implemented into the network, the quality monitoring cycle starts from the beginning. The following applications and tools are used in network optimization with NetAct.
Optimizer NetAct Optimizer is designed for automated, measurement based optimization of operational GSM, WCDMA and LTE networks. It provides the functionality for viewing, analyzing and optimizing the actual network performance and capacity.
Map Administrator Map Administrator is an administration tool designed for managing the Geographic Information System (GIS). Map Administrator is located in the Administration folder on the NetAct Start Page.
Antenna Data Editor Antenna Data Editor is an Optimizer functionality used for importing site and antenna relations to the cells and base stations of the actual network. The tool is run by the administrator user whenever new sites and antennas and relations to the cells in the network need to be updated. Antenna Data Editor supports data import from any external system producing a CSV (Comma Separated Values) data input file that complies with the import format definition.
Configurator The following Configurator applications are used in the optimization process: CM Analyzer, for running consistency checks, CM Operations Manager, for downloading and activating plans and for running workflow-based optimization operations, CM Editor, for editing plans and templates, SON Scheduler, for running scheduled workflow-based optimization operations
Performance Manager Optimizer uses mobile measurement reports collected by Performance Manager in interference matrix creation

NetAct Monitor: Regional network monitoring In regional network monitoring, the emphasis is on the basic monitoring of one management region. This covers alarm collection from the managed sub-networks via the mediation and the monitoring tools. Northbound interfaces (available as optional functionality) support the data forwarding to 3rd party systems.
Real Time Performance Monitor The NetAct Realtime Performance Monitoring (RTPM) GUI contains global information on the @vantage, NE3S, and SNMP based NEs available for monitoring. It enables the user to:
Monitor performance data of the managed objects in Counter Selection navigation tree.
Monitor the counters and KPIs using objects like Graph and State windows, in the PM Objects navigation tree.
Preview data of the selected managed object. Load, save, and delete the selected user profile configuration provided the user has valid permissions for creating profiles. The toolbar is present below the menu bar and contains frequently used operations for quick access. A status message appears in the status bar at the bottom of the window.
TIP Functions are usually available only in certain context. The representation of a function (button, menu entry) is displayed sensitive if it is available in the current context or displayed insensitive if it is unavailable. For each opened Graph or State view/window, a tab exists in the content area of the RTPM window. Each Graph or State view contains a Counter Selection tree displaying the counter values available for monitoring and a Previewer for displaying counter values as text. The Graph or State view selected is considered to be the active view. The menu bar at the top of the RTPM window contains the application-specific functions and access to context sensitive help system. In order to monitor counters, KPIs and configure profiles the user must have:

Trace Viewer Tracing is a concept name for an optional NetAct functionality, which is performed by the TraceViewer application, and allows the tracing of mobile equipment and subscribers in mobile networks. TraceViewer enables global tracing, which means that a user can trace an International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number or International Mobile Subscriber Identity (IMSI) number throughout the network. Additionally, the TraceViewer application provides a mechanism for administering, collecting and viewing information related to a specific subscriber or mobile equipment. TraceViewer can activate traces in several network elements, including Nokia Solutions and Networks RNC, FlexiNS. In addition, TraceViewer receives events from Nokia Solutions and Networks BSC and MGW network elements. Trace data is collected from the network elements and is sent to TraceViewer, where it can be viewed in the form of reports. TraceViewer can be also used to support network planning and optimization. After changing the network parameters, users can easily verify that all sites are working as planned, by using TraceViewer’s graphical and textual presentations. This tool is also used for real-time troubleshooting to follow the functionality of the network and possible problems with a call. Operators can use tracing to troubleshoot problems with mobile equipment or subscriber’s connections and to follow up customer complaints. Tracing can be also used to monitor the network and to check the results of the network optimization.

Administration of Measurements Administration of Measurements (AoM) application enables the PM Administrator user to manage (enable/disable) measurements on network elements to allow data collection from network elements to NetAct. This application can be used to view, create, modify and delete measurement plans and templates. Measurement plans can be used to start and stop the measurements on the network elements. AoM also helps to upload measurement plans from the network elements to NetAct. This tool contains four tabs:
Network Overview: It enables you to view the activation status of measurements in the network.
Plans: It enables you to create, modify, delete, activate and deactivate plans. Templates: It enables you to create, modify and delete a template. It also allows you to create a plan based on an existing template.
Upload Overview: It enables you to view a summary of all the upload operations carried out during a specific time period for specific NE Types.
Thresholder and Profiler Thresholder and Profiler are NetAct applications that are integrated with NetAct Performance Manager: they allow setting and managing thresholds or profiles, respectively, for the counters or KPIs calculated in Performance Manager. Profiler: Capitalizes on the observation that the measured values of a KPI often follow a pattern. Profiler tracks this pattern and provides a reliable approximation of the typical value of the KPI based on a week's data. • Thresholder: Regularly compares the KPI values and the KPI profiles with the threshold for the KPIs. If notification sending is enabled for a threshold that is crossed, Thresholder sends notifications. Thresholder and Profiler depend on each other. Profiler uses the output of the PI value check that Thresholder performs regularly against the PM Database of NetAct. Thresholder uses the latest profiles, calculated by Profiler, to evaluate the latest PI values in the PM Database against the profiled thresholds. Nevertheless, you can define a threshold and a profile for the same KPI independently from each other: if you enable thresholding and profiling but the threshold is not a profiled threshold, Profiler still maintains the profile for the KPI. This way you can monitor the KPI actively (with the threshold and by receiving violation notifications) and at the same time you can also gather longer-term information on the KPI (with the profile). You can use this setup during the four-week learning period of the profile; once the learning period is over, you can change the absolute threshold into a profiled threshold.

Software Asset Monitoring Software Asset Monitoring application collects and processes the configuration and measurement data based on customer specific settings. It generates a report on the feature usage and forwards the formatted monitoring data to the customer and NSN Customer Team via an encrypted e-mail. The encrypted e-mail can be read and validated by Customer and NSN Customer Team only. The report on the feature usage is used to generate an invoice. One software monitoring report comprises information related to one NetAct cluster. Note: For LTE and Flexi Direct, software monitoring is the only way of usage control as License Keys are not implemented for these technologies. Software Asset Monitoring enables speed and efficiency with fast software activations through bypassing the pre-activation procurement process, and applying alternative pricing models where invoicing is based on network configuration or on used functionality. This results in OPEX savings and in an increased flexibility.

User Management
User management is a web based management system for monitoring, managing and administering users and groups. The user management application manages user profile information, groups and password policies and ensures the security of a user. User management is integrated with Permission Management (PEM) of the different NetAct tools for the corresponding authorizations to be assigned to users. The authentication of a user is based on user profile information stored in the system specific authentication repository. The following operations are managed by user management :

Operating Documentation
NetAct operating documentation contains the user assistance needed for the daily network management operations. The documentation is available on NetAct user workstations in a browsable format. The same documentation is offered in browsable format and as downloadable PDFs also via the Nokia Siemens Networks Online Services, accessible at https://online.portal.nokiasiemensnetworks.com (requires authentication). The NetAct application Online Helps are available in the same NetAct Operating Documentation set, and they can be launched via context-sensitive launch from the NetAct applications.

Browsing the content
1. From Contents frame expand the category by clicking the plus icon or double-clicking the category name.
2. Click the document name. The content appears in main frame. Additional information:
On the top of Contents frame click Collapse all button to collapse all opened topics.
On the top of Contents frame click Link with Contents button to link viewed content in main frame with related topic in Contents frame.
On the top of Contents frame click Maximize button to maximize the Contents frame. Click Restore button to restore the view.
On the top of main frame click Maximize button to maximize the main frame. Click Restore button to restore the view.

Searching in the publication
3. Above the Contents frame fill in the Search field with the searched expression. 4. Click Search scope if you want to choose which categories and documents need to be searched through.
5. Click GO button to run the searching. 6. The results are displayed in Search results frame. 7. Click on chapter name. The content appears in main frame. You can return to browsing the content by clicking Contents button at the bottom of Search results frame.

When browsing the content (publication category) you can quickly run the search.

On the top of Contents frame click the Search selected topic and all subtopics button. The Search selected topic and all subtopics dialog appears Type the searched expression. Click OK button to run the searching. The results are displayed in Search results frame. Click on document or chapter name. The content appears in main frame. You can return to browsing the content by clicking Contents button at the bottom of Search results frame.

Object Information Browser
Object Information Browser is a customer documentation browser designed specifically for browsing of Adaptation metadata information on object classes, and performance management, configuration management data, and fault management metadata. The content in Object Information Browser covers the descriptions of PM measurements and counters, CM parameters, alarm descriptions, and object classes for the Adaptations deployed in NetAct. Information on alarming, measured and configurable (CM) objects is available via managed object class metadata in Adaptation Information Browser. Adaptation Information Browser is a Web UI application which is accessed from the NetAct Start Page. The basic functionality in Adaptation Information Browser includes:
Searching by data type (PM, CM, FM, Object Class) and by release, based on the free text.
Viewing the description of an individual counter, measurement, parameter, alarm manual, or object class based on search results, for example, viewing the description of an individual measurement.
Browsing counters, measurements, parameters, alarm manuals and object classes by release or by user-defined criteria and drilling down to details.
Comparing selected adaptation descriptions, for example, comparing the descriptions of two measurements, counters, or parameters.
Exporting to Excel and XML, based on search results. Printing of search results.

Search functionalities
Browsing measurements To search for and browse measurements information:
1. In the main window, click Measurements. 2. Click the drop-down list of Adaptation to choose a specific adaptation. The corresponding data are displayed in the result panel. If you do not want to designate a specific adaptation, you can choose all, and use Look for below directly.
3. Click the drop-down list of Release to choose a version. The corresponding data are displayed in the result pane below. Again, if you do not want to designate a specific version, you can choose all. Note: If you do not choose a specific adaptation in Adaptation, you can not choose a specific version in Release.
4. Enter the keywords in the search box of Look for, and click Search. TIP Keywords can be any part of the attributes of the data. To narrow down the search scope, enter two or more keywords separated by white-spaces. The search rules are listed below: • The search supports fuzzy match. • If there is no precisely matched result according to the keyword, items with similar keywords are displayed. If there is even no similar result, no record is displayed. • The order of the search results is determined by the priority of the attributes. • For example, you enter two keywords for attributes, one for ID and the other for Description. As the priority of ID is higher than that of Description, the searched items for ID are listed above the items for Description. .
5. To show more detailed information about the measurements, follow the steps below: • • • • •
Click Column settings at right-top of the result panel to choose the information needed in the drop-down list, and then click Apply You can also choose Default to reset the settings as default value. Click the attribute with hyperlink in ID, and then the details are displayed in a pop-up dialogue box. Click the attribute with hyperlink in Managed objects, and the detailed information of the selected item is displayed in the same window. Click the arrow icon next to the attribute name to view the whole description of the attribute.

6. To define how many items to show per page, click the drop-down list of items per page at the right-bottom of the result panel.
7. To export the measurements of the page, follow the steps below: a. Navigate to the page you want to use for exporting. b. Click Export to export the measurements of the current page in a specific format. c. Choose the format you want in the pop-up box, and then click Export in it. By default, the exporting is in xml format. d. Save or open the exported data file.

Browsing managed objects You can use Object Information Browser to search for and browse managed objects information.
1. In the main window, click Managed Objects. 2. Click the drop-down list of Adaptation to choose a specific adaptation. The corresponding data are displayed in the result panel. If you do not want to designate a specific adaptation, you can choose all, and use Look for below directly.
3. Click the drop-down list of Release to choose a version. The corresponding data are displayed in the result pane below. Again, if you do not want to designate a specific version, you can choose all. Note: If you do not choose a specific adaptation in Adaptation, you can not choose a specific version in Release.
4. Enter the keywords in the search box of Look for, and click Search. TIP Keywords can be any part of the attributes of the data. To narrow down the search scope, enter two or more keywords separated by white-spaces.

NOLS
The NSN Online Service (NOLS) provides easy and secure access to solution and product documentation, downloadable software, project management tools, online entry and tracking of Help Desk cases, online ordering, e-learning and collaboration tools. NOLS operates as an e-business service for operators, partners, subcontractors and other associates. In NOLS, you can find product information varying from general marketing type of content to detailed technical descriptions. Via NOLS, you can also place orders for certain network products, manage a project in a collaborative environment, get familiar with the learning offering and share confidential information within your team.
What Services are available in NOLS? For an introduction on the service offering, please check the NOLS Service Information. It should be noted that you may not have access to all the services, as your access rights have been tailored for your company. Please note also that some services have their own Help files with more detailed information.
Security in NOLS NOLS functionalities use 128 bit encrypted HTTPS SSL connection to ensure secure communication between NOLS servers and client browsers. File integrity is checked with a 32 bit checksum in the zipped files in order to ensure that no files are corrupted. The password protection is used to prevent unauthorized access to NOLS. The usernames and passwords are created according to a standardized process at NOLS Support Desk (NOLS Support). The approval of Nokia Siemens Networks Contact Person/ the NOLS Main User is needed for granting any person a username and password to the company’s NOLS account. Only the nominated Team Service Facilitators may grant access to the Team Service categories and documentation. In addition, every NOLS user is responsible for not giving his/her personal username and password to any third person. When login into NOLS for the first time, all users accept the disclaimer of NOLS terms and conditions, and are expected to follow those.

NOLS and My Active SW Support Portal
Log In details To prevent unauthorized access to NOLS, users are required to have individual usernames and passwords. Communication between the client browser and NOLS is encrypted to prevent disclosure of privileged information. Usernames and passwords are created according to a standardized process at the NOLS Support Desk by the NOLS Administrator. Approval of a Nokia Siemens Networks Contact Person is needed for granting any person a username and password to the NOLS account of a company. Every user has an individual NOLS User ID, which consists of a username and a password. The system automatically sends the NOLS username and password in two separate e-mails. Passwords are also case-sensitive, which further improves the IT Security. When the user logs into NOLS for the first time, the system forces the user to change the password. The password is forced to be a minimum of 8 alphanumeric characters. Each password must have a minimum of 8 characters and follow 3 of the following 4 criteria:
Includes capital letters (A - Z) Includes small letters (a - z) Includes arabic numerals (0 - 9) Uses the following allowed special characters: ! " # $ % & ' ( ) * + , - . : ; < = > ? @ [\]_{}~
Password must be changed at least every 180 days and chosen password must not be the same as any of your 5 previous passwords.
