  Explain the relationship between technology and society; and   Analyze the Internet of Things (IoT)





Materials:

  One (1) personal computer with a pre-installed Google Chrome, Microsoft Word, Microsoft



PowerPoint, and Paint

  Internet connection



Instructions: 1.  Create a new document in Microsoft Word with the name format of 01LAB_LastName_FirstName   (e.g., 01LAB_Reyes_Mika). This will serve as your answer sheet and will w ill be collected by your instructor. 2.  Design an IoT ecosystem diagram based on the following descriptions of the company. You can use Microsoft PowerPoint and Paint as tools. Utilize the Internet to gather ideas and resources. The images’ sources and other references should be cited. c ited. Include the name of the site, title of the article, and the link. Be creative in designing the diagrams. See Figure 1 for reference.

  Company X is a small-sized trucking company with a total of 46 employees in two (2) branches.

The company operates 24 hours a day and five (5) days a week, with shifting schedules. Delivery goes within Luzon and Visayas only. The company does not have an ERP system, but it has an Internet connection. Drivers use an online mobile application for maps and directions, while porters carry a tablet for keeping track of the delivery details online. Six (6) encoders, three (3) per branch, use computers to create cr eate and update files. These files are saved on a company cloud storage, which are then being accessed by the two (2) branches simultaneously.

  Company B is a large company that manufactures computer parts with one (1) head office,

two (2) manufacturing sites, two (2) warehouses, and two (2) branches abroad. The company has its personalized Software-as-a-Service ERP system maintained by the IT staff in the head office. Most of the employees abroad use laptops to add, update, and delete records from the system. Local employees, on the other hand, mostly use personal computer and tablets. Most of the equipment and machineries in the manufacturing sites are programmable and can be

remotely accessed through mobile devices. The business requires fast Internet connection to run continuously.
