 New 2008 Freezer Electronics These models will be based on the existing 14/17/21 cabinets but will incorporate new electronic control systems mounted in the door.

Electronic Temperature Control When the freezer is plugged in for f or the first time, all LED’s will turn on and the control will beep three times.

The temperature setting of “4” will be displayed. This setting will provide satisfactory food storage temperatures.

Setting Selection Adjust the temperature setting by pressing “Colder “ Colder”” or “Warmer”. Warmer”. Allow several hours for the temperature to stabilize between adjustments.

Turning the unit OFF and ON

“0” is displayed when the freezer is turned off. To turn turn the freezer off, press “Warmer” three times after the “1” temperature setting is displayed. OFF will turn off off the compressor, the fan, the defrost system, and any alarms, but the interior lights will continue to function. To turn the freezer on, press “Colder” three times to get the “1” setting. Continue pressing “Colder” until the desired setting appears.

When the freezer is unplugged, the temperature setting will be retained in memory. Control Lock This is done by pressing “Alarm Reset” for three seconds. “L” will then appear on the the display for one second. To unlock the control, press “Alarm Reset” for 3 seconds till the “U “ U” appears in the display.

Showroom Mode Showroom Mode allows a person to demonstrate the freezer features without turning on the compressor and fan or going through defrost. defrost. During Showroom Showroom Mode, Mode, all buttons operate and after the temperature setting a “ . ” will be displayed.

The interior light will operate and there will be no alarms in the Showroom Mode. Note: this may require two people since the buttons MUST be depressed during power up. To enter the Showroom Mode, press “Colder” and “Warmer” at the same time while the freezer is plugged in. An “ S” will appear for three (3) seconds on the display and then the temperature setting will will appear. The Showroom Showroom Mode Mode is retained if the freezer is unplugged. To EXIT the Showroom Mode, press “Colder” and “Warmer” at the same time while the freezer is plugged in.

Defrost Automatic Defrost Timing

After each 12 hours of accumulated compressor run time, 30 minutes minutes of defrost defrost will begin. begin. If there is a thermistor error or a button is stuck for more than 30 seconds, the compressor and fan will run continuously with the standard defrost cycle. There is no capability in the control to store error codes.

Alarms Door Ajar Alarm When the door is left open for five (5) minutes or more, the Door Ajar LED will light up and the control will beep every five seconds. The alarm will be turned off when the door door is closed or the “ALARM RESET” button is pressed. The LED light will stay on until the door door is closed. If the door is not shut after five (5) minutes, the alarm will sound again. If after fifteen fifteen minutes the door is not shut, the interior light will turn off. High Temperature Alarm The High Temp LED will turn on and the control will beep every five (5) seconds if the temperature of the cabinet remains above 23ºF for more more than one hour. The alarm will be turned off when the “ALARM RESET” button is pressed, but the High Temp LED will remain lit until the temperature is again below 23ºF.

Control Module Servicing The module can be unsnapped from the door and a nd utilizes a set pin connector on the board that plugs into the door connector. connector. There is 120vac  on this door so  you should follow proper lotto lotto procedures.

Control Module Door Wiring The door wiring harness is part of the door, it can not be replaced separately. If damaged – order the door.

The door wiring harness is difficult to reach from the front. Full access is obtained from the rear of the cabinet.

Thermistor

The resistance can be read at pins 1-2 at the door control plug. 92 ohms

Thermistor Location The thermistor is located on the back wall underneath the evaporator cover on the upper right-hand side wiring passageway. WR55X10933

The thermistor is cataloged but not in IPC at this time. Use standard wire splicing procedures when replacing the thermistor, bell connectors sealed with rtv102.
