These practices, which are very much different than classical Panchkarma, are popularly known as Keraliya Panchkarma. It has got a comprehensive system of purificatory cum physiotherapeutic method of treatment. The five major components of Keraliya Panchkarma are as mentioned below 1. Dhara Krama

2. Kaya Seka

3. Pinda Sweda

4. Anna Lepa

5. Siro Lepa Dhara Krama (Sirodhara) Pouring a stream of medicated herbal oil, decoction etc. on the fore head from a specific height and for a specific period in a systematic manner is known as Sirodhara. In this procedure the Dhara Dravya is selected in consideration of the nature of illness and the constitution and strength of the patient. Dhara Krama is beneficial to improve memory and I.Q., voice become melodious, insomnia, aging is reduced, relieves headache, prevents premature graying of hair, and improves digestive power.

17. Generalized cerebral atrophy. 2. Kaya Seka It is also called as Taildhara or Pizichil. Kaya Seka is a specialized Keraliya Panchkarma procedure where massage and Fomentation (Snehan and Swedan) are performed simultaneously. Pouring of lukewarm medicated oil on the whole body in a specific menner is known as Kaya Seka or Pizichil. It is proved that Kaya Seka delays the process of aging, improves skin texture, restores vitality and enthusiasm, disease palliative,

3. Pinda Sweda Inducing local or generalized perspiration by means of medicated pudding made by Navarya Dhanya or Sastika Sali Dhanya is known as Pinda Sweda. Pinda Sweda is the most important among all the five procedures. This therapy is given daily or on alternate days, depending upon the nature of disease the therapy is continued for 7 days, 11 days, 14 days, 21 days or 28 days.

This Pinda Sweda relieves tiredness, depression, drowsiness and insomnia. It delays the process of aging, improves skin texture, restores vitality and enthusiasm, disease palliative, improves luster of skin, strengthen muscle and tissue, provides Psycho/Physical soothing, and promotes circulation. At Arogya, Arogya Pinda Sweda is effectively used in following diseases 1. Ankylosing spondilitis.

2. Rheumatoid arthritis.

3. MND.

4. Pseudo muscular dystrophy.

5. Residual hemiplasia.

6. Paraparesis.

4. Anna Lepa The ancient Ayurvedists have described the use of Pradeha, Pralepe, Upanaha etc. for the treatment of different diseases. With similar intention Anna Lepa therapy is developed for the care of early aging, Dhatu Ksaya, Kshina and Dourbalya. Anna Lepa is usually advocated for patients where Pinda Sweda is contraindicated or is ineffective. In

this procedure luke warm Paste (lepa) of different herbs is applied all over the body for 1 to 1.5 hrs. At Arogya, Chikitasalaya, Pinda Sweda is effectively used in following diseases 1. Ankylosing spondilitis.

2. Rheumatoid arthritis.

3. Pseudo muscular dystrophy.

4. Residual hemiplasia.

5. Paraparesis. 5. Siro Lepa Siro Lepa therapy is used in the treatment of diseases of head and neck. In this procedure herbal paste is applied to the head. It is effective in diseases of head like migraine, facial paralysis, falling of hair, baldness etc. 6. Siro Vasti Keeping the medicated oil on the head for a specific period with help of a cap is known as Sirovasti. In this procedure different types of medicated oil or ghee are used according to different diseases.

At Arogya, Arogya Siro Vasti is found effective in different diseases as 1. Facial paralysis.

2. Headaches.

3. Parkinsonism.

4. Eye disorders.

5. Insomnia.

6. Loss of sensation.

7. Hemiplegia.

8. Generalized cerebral atrophy.
