Performance Standard: The learner is able to formulate and solve problems involving sequences in different disciplines through appropriate and accurate representations. Most Essential Learning Competencies: 1. Generate and describe patterns M10ALIa-1 2. Illustrates an arithmetic sequence M10ALIb-1 3. Find the nth term of an arithmetic sequence. Learning Targets: At the end of the lesson, the learners can: 1. generate and describe patterns using symbols and mathematical expressions; 2. find the next few terms and the nth term of the given sequence; 3. define and describe an arithmetic sequence; and 4. enumerate the next few terms and the nth term of an arithmetic sequence. Transfer Goals: Learners will be able to apply the key concepts of sequences in finding solutions and making decisions for certain reallife problems. Enduring Understanding: Learners will understand that there are realistic problem situations that can be solved using the concepts of sequences. The students will use their prior knowledge and skills to learn and understand the basic ideas of sequences and distinguish their types. They are also given enough activities to process the knowledge and skills learned and further deepen and transfer their understanding of the lessons.
